I am familiar with fasting. Which basically this is. As long as you do not go with just water but add the sugars of the maple syrup or other juices during a fast you can go as long as 40+ days with no detrimental effect. I would do some more study however on the subject of cleansing and fasting before making the decision.…

I am not a germaphobic, however I have seen the pain and suffering a case of severe MRSA can cause. Tennis ball size black boils that can go down to infect the bone. And it can be caught from casual contact with gym equipment. I went to a gym in St Louis on the St Louis University Medical School grounds for a while and…

Raisins, honey(depending on dressing choice), olive oil, Balsmic/red wine/rice wine/malt vinegars, sunflower seeds, walnuts, pecans. garlic(lots of it) enough for now, I am getting hungry!

I eat a variety of breads. Never any enriched flour. I eat 100% whole wheat and "Food For Life"'s Ezekiel, 7 Sprouted Grains, Sesame, Genesis 1:29, and Raisin breads. I make my own artisan breads and also banana, blackberry applesauce etc. breads. I also buy the 100% whole wheat breads that have no HFCS, preservatives or…

1st wife divorced me when I wanted to change my life after becoming a Christian. She has since then become one and is doing quite well at sobriety and lifestyle change. I am happy for her and her new husband. My second wife went to be with the Lord Nov. 4, 2004 at the age of 34. She was a beautiful person that was a…

I don't resist. I just eat and log. Of course I don't eat it but once in a month or two. I eat Chobani's Greek yogurt. All the other brands I look at that say they are all natural add some pretty funny natural stuff to their yogurt. Like corn starch(Oikos etc.). Remember, coal dust is natural but I don't want it in my…

I agree, if you have a different opinion state it and back it up with a little science. But no need to be rude. I don't think the microwaved water killed the plants but I do think microwaving food and drinks may be killing people slowly like eating the wrong foods and consuming too much added sugar.

Here's a pretty good article. This one says microwaves are bad. I bet with a little effort I can find one that says they are good. For me, the idea of super agitating the water molecules in foods thru the use of microwave magnetic radiation just doesn't sound healthy. Any more than using bulbs to tan with instead of the…

While I do believe that microwaving food does corrupt the molecular structure of foods as it cooks. The following link is to scopes.com. You will see an experiment done by the author of the article and also the original article. Two entirely different results. The author even used three each of three different plants and…

I am a former certified personal fitness trainer. If you can afford one then my suggestion is hire a good one. From a reputable school. I received my certificate from ISSA. One of the highest ranked in the field. There are some certificates out there that are too easy to earn. Also some states don't require a…

Most Americans are chromium deficient. Supplementing 400mcg a day for a start is good for just about anyone.

As a former certified trainer and one who has studied fitness and nutrition etc. for 20+yrs, I would say that MFP's guidelines for calories are very close to the scientific formulas I use for figuring calorie needs. I would not mind helping with the calorie needs part of your question. I would need a few bits of info. Feel…

I am at 45/20.35 but I eat a lot of monosaturated fats. Olive oil in particular. I am also in a weight loss stage right now. When I change to a buliking stage I will up my protiens almost double and carbs a bit and lower my fats to about 25%. I will try to get 1 - 1.5 grams of protein for each pound of body weight. I have…

If it is after midnight then it should go on the new day, possibly as a snack. At least that is what I do. But if it is before midnight it is still the same day so I would put it on the day it was eaten. That is really the point of setting a calorie limit for the day. The calories don't know it is entered the next day.…

Total: 201 HDL : 45 TRIG: 98 LDL : 136 CHOL/HDLC: 4.5 HDL/LDL% = 33.08% All pretty acceptable. Big change in diet over the last few months. I was 260+ total and high LDL levels six months ago.

Nope, I eat dark chocolate on purpose for the health benefits. I do however limit myself to only one or two pieces a day when I have it. I don't have any right now but when I go to the store I will buy about 4 or 5 big bars. Sorry I can't join you, well, wait, not really sorry but still can't join you. I wish you well…

I am totally off of meds for both bp and chol. I am taking fish oil capsules at the suggestion of my doctor and am eating more salmon and cod and tuna as well as using more olive and canola oils. My chol has dropped from 260+ to 201 in 6 months. I have also started walking for exercise and am up to an hour a day most days.…

Just checked out the paleo diet online. I don't believe in evolution, I believe in creation by an intelligent creator. I eat real close to the paleo diet though. I have dairy occasionally but other than that I am pretty close. I eat what I believe is referred to as the Mediterranean diet. Or at least very close to it. I…

I try to eat only "Food for Life" products like Ezekiel, 7 Sprouted grains, etc and whole grain bread without HFCS and Preservatives etc.. That being said, as a fitness trainer who specializes in nutrition and supplementation as well as the exercise aspects of the trade, I have to say that fitness and health usually come…

Great job! Quite a change. Keep up the awesome work!!!

I did not read everyones post but here is what I have learned. The slowing of the metabolism caused by eat too few calories(starvation mode), named for the bodies inherent triggering that it needs to store fat for future use due to lack of calories in the diet, doesn't happen for a few days as was said earlier. What people…

No offense intended but some of the info posted is just wrong and some could be dangerous for a person who has not lifted for at least a year to build their secondary and stabilizer muscles. If you use your prime movers to muscle up 90% of max before you s&s muscles are strengthened you almost certainly headed for injury.…
