Hi! I'm Susan from CT, 51 years old. I'm a bit late to the party, this seems fun, so here goes! My goals for March: 📝 Continue to log consistently 🐈⬛🐈 Continue to give my geriatric cats the best life possible 🥗 I just started lower carb ✈️ Travel (for a day, but it counts!) 🧘🏻🚶🏻♂️Walk, yoga, pilates consistently,…

I've been using myfitensspal for over a decade. I'm down a solid 50# from my highest weight. In times when I REALLY want a snack, sometimes, I will have it, even if I go over my "limit". Once in a while, it's worth it for my mental health. If I'm craving something specific, it's easier to "cheat" with that, than to try to…

I'm pretty sure I'm asexual...

Yes, by choice.

Congratulations!! It's hard work to lose weight!! Next time you're at the store, pick up an item that weight 20 pounds. (Like cat litter, potatoes, etc.) Know this is what you've lost so far! It's silly, but it really put a smile on my face when I did it! You'll be amazed at how heavy it feels, and wonder where the heck…

It's your wedding. It's hard when your future in law makes you feel bad in such a dramatic way! It's not like it can be changed now. But, I also have to say, look at it from her eyes. She's probably hurt, and lashing out, because your parents are on it, not his. I know, when I was planning for my wedding, I was in a…

Cats snuggling with me, especially kitty kisses and being nuzzled by them. The sound of the cats eating at meal time. Crawling into a bed with freshly laundered sheets. Using a towel fresh off the clothesline.

I had one, but it stopped working. I haven't replaced it, as we have a scale at work for weighing big dogs. I kind of miss not weighing myself naked, and getting a water & fat %, but I like not having to drag the scale out so often just to check. I'm more relaxed about my weight. My hubby & I also have a doctor, who's…

My last straw was being within 2 pounds of my nemesis who is morbidly obese.

Like you, I need a new wardrobe. I just can't afford it. I DO more. My house is cleaner, more often, and lawn chores are....fun! I'm also an introvert, but kind of like when someone notices the weight loss. I had to throw out 2 belts, because they were too big.

Wow!! That is amazing! Good for you! Where did you find your motivation? Congrats!!!!

My new jeans, now slide off without needing to unbutton them. I guess I need to start using a belt, I can't afford new jeans.

I hear this all the time at work too. Mostly from someone who's supposed to gain weight. It took me over a year to lose 50 pounds. I'm still heavy, but looking and feeling much better than I did 50 pounds ago! I'm just about to my goal. Let's face it, I lost 25 pounds before I had to say something, because nobody noticed.

Good job!! Enjoy!!

I too am a snacker! If I get struck with a late night snack attack, I usually listen to what my body is craving. If I want sweet, I won't be satisfied with celery or carrots. I'll get a piece of fruit, or even a little spoonful of peanut butter. If I crave salty, maybe a few nuts. I don't want to have trouble sleeping…

You can do it!!!! I'm 42, and have lost 47 or so pounds with My Fitness Pal. I'll admit, I don't work out. I'm on my feet for work, and I do as much yard work for my elderly parents as I can, but other than that, I don't exercise. I love food, especially snacking. MFP has helped me to curb my snacking a bit. Make better…

I've been at 1200 calories for several months. I'm down about 47 pounds. Almost at my goal. The way I see it, if I go over, the only one who suffers is me. It's about making different choices. For instance, 2 slices of wheat bread for a sandwich is about 200 calories, but a low calorie wrap is only 80 calories. For me,…

I'll say right away, I've been going over my calories a lot more than I should. BUT even when I was being better, I'd have the same issue. For me, it was a cycle. I'd plateau for a couple weeks, GAIN for a week or so of PMS, then lose a pound or 2 the following week. Maybe you're not doing ANYTHING wrong. Maybe it's…

Last year, my weight reached an all time high of 197. My MEDIUM scrubs didn't fit anymore, and I had to buy LARGE. :noway: I hated feeling like the fat person at work, so I tried MFP (I used a different app before with no luck). I lost about 23 pounds before I told anyone. :blushing: This spring, people started noticing,…

Such a great feeling! Good for you!! Enjoy it. :)

So close to my goal... I have way more energy!! My clothes are so loose, I have gone from LARGE scrubs to SMALL. Clients at work and other acquaintances have noticed also. The coolest one was the technician who performed my mammogram; she asked me if I'd lost a significant amount of weight since my last mammogram last…

I really like sushi, but don't know the names of most of them. I suggest doing what I do. Go with friends who like sushi, and ask them for suggestions, or share a large platter of different kinds. My hubby won't eat sushi, but knew a guy who has a restaurant that serves sushi, so when we go there, I just ask for his…

Rarely (maybe once a year or so), I need a Slim Jim. Usually the one with that flavorless orange cheese in the same package.

Right now, my favorite exercise is yard work! Yes, I'm serious. My parents are elderly, and live less than 2 miles away. Any day I have time, I do anything I can in their yard. Lots of raking, shoveling, etc. They can't afford to have someone do it for them, and I can't afford a gym membership. I burn calories, and their…

Don't be too hard on yourself!! I heard one thing that has helped many people who can't seem to get started or get too discouraged when starting an exercise routine. It's simple, on the first of the month, exercise for 1 minute. Done! On the second of the month, 2 minutes. Each day, just adding a minute, until at the end…

As soon as I saw the word aggressive, my gut is to say NO. If you do feel like you want to go anyway, do it in a group. Stay safe.

HO LEE CRAP! That's scary! I'm always amazed at calories at restaurants!

Try an airtight (maybe a screw top plastic one) to prevent egg smelliness. Is there some kind of salad dressing you can tolerate with your health issue, instead of the mayo? (Salsa is great with tuna instead of mayo, but I have no idea what it would be like with eggs!

My goal for weight loss is to reach my goal weight before spring. My other goal is to have everyone in the family, write something happy or positive each day, and put it into a jar. At the end of 2013, we'll read them to remember all the happy and good things that happened to us throughout the year.
