Your condition sounds very painful! I looked it up, and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankylosing_spondylitis ... all of which you probably already know, but if you don't there it is. It also sounds like there are some good therapies that can help, and it highly recommends swimming, as"swimming involves all major…

Good point! I think I'll actually do that!

oh, and: - cleaning out the puke bucket for poor little sickies (this has got to be worth at least 500) - standing pukewatch - throwing kids in the pool (from in the pool) ....

are all dark sodas bad, even diet ones?

Night time munchies are a constant struggle for me too. Especially when the TV you are watching has lots of ads for delicious looking food. So to get around that, I don't watch live TV if I can help it. I set all the shows I want to watch to record on our DVR, then fast forward through the ads. I also try to reason with…

This sounds like a pretty likely explanation. AS with anything, exercise gets better/easier/less painful the more you do it. So logical...

Good point! Always a good idea to workout with less stuff on the skin...

Good Point... I never made that connection, but it's a LOT like when you come inside from having a snowball fight. but a little more itchy. Interesting! thanks for sharing!

According to some links people have posted, it looks like it could be like an "exercise allergy" especially if outdoors... maybe more blood flow make the legs sensitive to allergens in the air? Several folks have recommended trying an antihistamine before working out outside... I'm going to give it a try... but as with…

Obviously a pound of muscle and a pound of fat WEIGH the same, but a pound of fat has almost 2x the volume of a pound of muscle... meaning a pound of muscle, while weighing more, take up less space. take a look at some of these images to see what I mean: http://www.google.com/search?q=pound+of+fat+and+muscle or just google…

I'm willing to bet you have been adding muscle which weighs more than fat, but burns more calories, so is a good thing. Any way you can track your body fat %? Did you take any measurements before you started boot camp?

I'm very leery of weight-loss supplements. I just don't want to mess with my metabolism any more than necessary. That said, I've recently started taking a magnesium supplement, to see if it helps calm my nerves, evens out my blood sugar/insulin balance and and affects my weight loss. I also will have a high protein low…

That is MOST excellent! You look great! Congrats. I'm sure you've heard all this before, but I just had to chime in.

I'm a SAHM, with an 8 yo son and and a "five and three quarters" son. Add me if you like!

For me, it wasn't about the clothes that "magically" shrunk in the closet from one summer to the next... My moment was a fat AND unfit moment: I jumped into a foam pit at my 8 year old's bday party, and sunk, and almost couldn't pull myself back out. When the attendant said "just get yourself on top of the foam and crawl…

I had no real yoga experience to speak of, tried Bikram, and Loved it! They knew I was new, and kept reminding me, and everyone else, to only do as much as I could... They were very respectful of each individual's level. and of course, they really pushed those in the class who were hard core. If you can find a class that…
