GOALS: Short Term (1-2 months): - some wiggle room in my skinny jeans - stop obsessing over food - be able to run @ 5mph for 5 minutes Longer Term (3-6 months): - make running a regular part of my life - lower BF% to < 25% - find strength training I don’t hate - have a healthy relationship with food Long Term (big…

Finally! I'm so glad I found this group and this post.

Thank you! I've been looking for a realistic eating plan, and I think this is it! I need something I can maintain forever, not just "until I reach my goal weight''.

I use the Ninja almost every day. It can handle anything. I use it for smoothies mostly, but I also use it to chop nuts, make salsa, make banana pancakes, and it makes 'snow' out of ice cubes.

I do both of these, too. I line up and/or arrange things everywhere I go. I even have to park perfectly straight! We have a seam down the middle of the driveway, and if my husband parks with a tire on "my' side I can't relax until I move the car. crooked or asymmetrical objects make me uneasy most of the time. If I see a…

Thank you for sharing! I am also 5'4", I started at 190 and I am down to 155. You are a great inspiration. I do have a few questions, if you have a moment. Did you start running on a treadmill, pavement, or ? I have been wanting to run, but my neighborhood is not really runner friendly. Also, how many times a week did you…

Every year goes by even faster than the last one!

^^^This works well for me.

Turning 38 in March, but I refuse to grow up! I hope to be in better shape at 40 than I was at 30.

Maybe the OP is wondering why so many people accept and/or condone treating fat people badly. It seems like hating on fat people and making assumptions about their character is totally accepted in our society. As it happens, I think everyone has their own story. I became fat because I became depressed and I didn't care…

Tell him he is not allowed to comment on your eating, period. You know the old saying, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." It is hard enough to change eating habits and he needs to support you. How would you feel if a stranger talked to you like that? Also, regarding him being insensitive and you…

If anyone is curious, here is an update. I have added calories back slowly and my weight loss slowed, but I did not gain any weight. I went from a weekly average of around 700 cals a day to a weekly average of 1150 a day. I plan on staying at 1200 a day for two weeks and then slowly adding more until I am eating at least…

Nice work, you look good.

I would like to say you should be proud of what you have accomplished so far. According to your ticker you have lost 70 lbs! Take a moment and think about how awesome that is. You can get back on track. Hang in there.

Actually, I thought she was a specialist, turns out she's not. I'm feeling better and better about talking to you all about this. I should have googled before I went to see her. Even if she has a less severe food plan available, I should be able to do this without professional help.
-
I did raise questions. She sort of gave me a pat on the head and said "Don't worry." If I was seeing her for something life threatening I wouldn't seek a second opinion in a forum, believe me.

Great post, thanks for the link. You are doing so well. 2000 calories a day? Wow.

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it, and it has helped to hear from someone who has gone down this path already.

First of all, THANK YOU for all of the replies. Although I feel O.K. I just had this nagging feeling that I shouldn't keep this up. In answer to aedavidson79's question, yes she prescribed phentermine as an appetite suppressant. As I said, I already spoke with the Dr. about my concerns. I told her I was worried about the…

When I went in, I had a 40.8% bodyfat. That qualified me for the obese persons weight loss program. (That isn't actually what they call it) This Dr. has a family practice with two other Doctors and she is known for her comprehensive weight loss program. I specifically went to see her to help me lose the weight.

^^^ What she said! 5'4" 160 lbs size 12 is a little loose, size 10 is too tight 31" waist / 42" hips I've been told since high school that I have a big butt and thighs for a white girl. I'm glad Beyonce, Salma Hayek, and the other hourglass ladies are getting positive attention for their derrieres. Somehow it makes me fell…

I am just over halfway to my goal! Progress so far: This is my goal. This photo is me prepregnancy. I was 28 yrs old and a size 8 in this photo. I hope to be this size again and maintain it until my dying day.
-
This sounds extreme, maybe I should clarify. I should mention that I am only halfway to my goal weight. I am saving my $ now so I have more to spend once I get back to my healthy weight. Then trust me, I will build a bigger wardrobe!

As I go down in size, I allow myself 4 pairs of pants and 6 shirts. I wear my big clothes until they look bad, then I donate them. I started as an 18, when I lost enough weight, I bought 4 pair of size 16 pants, but my shirts still looked okay so I waited. I buy whatever I can afford at the time. The 16's were from…

Meat, nuts, dairy, and eggs are all good sources of protein. I like to snack on low fat string cheese, beef jerky, and tuna. These are my go to snacks for quick protein.

A great way to look at it!

I have been on a Doctor supervised, low calorie, no processed carbs diet for over two months now. The first 9-10 days were hell; headache, nausea, crankyness, tired, weak, etc. I swear it was withdrawals. I am so glad I hung in there, because it was only temporary. I eat less than 1200 calories a day and I have felt fine…

LOL. That last part cracked me up.
