avocados and bananas smoothies with almonds and PB and banana does he take supplements? if he can't eat a lot he might be missing out on some important vits and nutrients.

the exact same thing happened to me when i added wt training into the mix! i gained a few pounds and actually thought i was pregnant!! LOL!! things over the week settled back down. back to my normal range!

thanks!! i was able to finish the 30!!! had pain for 20k of it! resting and working on strength and proper alignment! will see how it goes. if the pain returns when i start to up my km again- dr suggested a bone scan-- x-ray came back -ve. for fracture

No pain with pressure. Can't actually "get" to where the pain is. It's feels like it's under the tibia in the middle of my ankle

what about doing a run streak--so maybe 10km 3x a wk and the others are 1mile! and you can play around with what days you are doing 10km and have flexibility. or set a km/wk goal and run everyday but base the distance on how you are feeling!! enjoy!!!!

thanks everyone!! i like the idea of pancakes!!! my race is a 1/2. its a women's run in Niagara falls. i do begin to focus on eating more carbs starting at the beginning of the wk--but the last 3 days prior- i tend to try and increase my carbs significantly. this is very hard for me. i'm not a carb fan. it has worked well…

i've heard this depression can be a result of cortisol being produced. running or any activity for extended periods of time puts great stress on our bodies.

i have 2 kids and a husband. i work out of the house a few days a week. try to work out everyday. feel free to add me as a friend. when i started this journey, kids were younger, found it easier to do DVD work outs at home. how they are older- its easier now to get out for runs.

i was losing wt at the beginning of my training (had set at 2lbs loss a wk)- now that i'm 3 wks out from my 1/2- i set it to .5 a wk- i found with a low cal intake i was soooooooo tired as my long runs got longer. it has been better since i uped my cals. but with the above suggestion--i might put it back to 2lb wt loss for…

i have done two halfs and 1 15km!! they are so fun!! i have a half planned for june 1st. i used http://bcsth.ca/sites/default/files/Suggested%20Training%20Program%20for%20Half%20Marathon.pdf i was very prepared!! i always took the shortest run of the week and added the kms to the other runs. i do yoga as well!! good luck!!

be a great example! i have been on the site for a few yrs on and off--often "hoping" my husband would join too--and u know what--he did!!! just keep logging and doing great and one day he might just follow in ur footsteps!! he has to want to do it!!

you will know when its time to change your goal! i found the biggest factor was how much i was willing to run--i have little kids and now they are 4 and 6 and its much easier to get out regularly and what a difference!

great job!! what a success!! i think this is normal--i experienced this after my 1st race! your legs should come back in a couple days! don't sweat it!! listen to your body! u run very different in training vs a race--so take is easy and you'll be back at it in no time!!

you can do this!!! if you are the shopper of the house--don't bring the stuff into the house!! involve your son in your fitness?? walks/bike rides? if you did it before you can do it again!! life is a marathon--not a sprint!! slow and steady!
