UPDATE: Four more pounds to go till my bathtime spa experience!
-
I hope that will be true in my case. I started a fitness accountability group with a few friends, but I think I'm the most motivated person.
-
I want to keep being consistent with my new daily training (moderate cardio on some days, light strength training on others, 2 rest days).
-
I'm happy for you!

Wowzers! Nice!

Congrats!

My mini-goal is to lose 10 pounds and buy myself a "bath spa experience" as a reward. I'm going to buy a bathtub pillow, a bathtub tray, a scented candle, and a night in a hotel (because I don't have a tub at home - I only have a shower). I want to soak in a tub with a good book and candle and bath salts, then put on a…

I have been consistent with fasting, even when my day schedule got crazy and even when my dog died and I felt really lousy.
-
My goal is to lose one pound a week (so 4 pounds). I'm on track.

Continuing to educate myself. I found out that hormone changes during menstruation may affect my weight, so when I'm on my period, I can ignore the scale for a few days. That's a relief.
-
No, I don't eat beef - so I wouldn't eat the meatballs in it. Boiled peanuts.
-
i agree with just using one scale and paying attention to whether the numbers go down or not. However, if you want another scale, join your local Freecycle (google it) and get a free one.

If your kids lick your face, they ARE animals.

I love this response. Might I add, kids need to be bolters or runners in order to use harnesses. Also, put them on your kid if your kid wants to walk "like a big boy/girl" without holding your hand. This is a good compromise. Also, use them if you have other things in your hand - bags, a stroller, another child. Just…

Everyone's body is different, but only up to a point. For example, EVERYONE needs iron. EVERYONE's mental functioning slows when they ingest enough alcohol. When it comes to SUSTAINABLE weight loss, NO ONE loses an excessive amount each month over the long term in a healthy way.

What you eat does matter to a degree. Fiber helps to burn away fat.

You can look down and see your feet. Your girdle doesn't roll down to your waist. I'm going to try on my swimsuit tonight (which I haven't worn in 2+ years)... then maybe I can check back and edit this post. ;-)

ditto all that.

We all gained 2 lbs just reading this post and looking at this picture.

Joey and I visit PetSmart weekly for our weigh-ins. He steps on first, then he gets off and I step on. Employees and customers usually look at me strange initally, but when I explain that we're BOTH dieting, they think it's a great idea. If PetSmart starts a national people-pet diet club, you heard it hear first!

You don't have to be a dog to reward yourself with food. No one will imply that you are superficial or greedy for rewarding yourself with money. Everyone's motivators are different.

I am 5'1 1/2". My starting weight was 160 lbs two months ago. Some new habits that helped me are - rarely drinking soda (you're just drinking calories), - refraining from eating 2-3 hours before bedtime, - and measuring the food portions that I eat using a food scale. I was surprised to find out what 1 oz of nuts and 1oz…

True - my first real garden. It's a community garden and I'm going to check up on it tmw morn. TNP likes Snickers bars.

It's more important to have a consistent routine over time than to have to do something every day. Don't feel bad. Don't try to make up every missed workout.

Did you have to "learn" how to walk more than one dog? any advice to make it easier? [/quote] I walk my Corgi mix and an Airedale at the same time. They like to walk on different sides of me so they don't get tangled much. I think they don't like getting in each other's way. Lucky me!
-
Absolutely. I'm glad I'm DOING SOMETHING! Those little pounds add up!

It helped me to buy a food scale and divvy out my snacks. I made this decision after reading how helpful food scales are to other MFPers. I make better decisions with a scale. For example, I buy cans of nuts or large bags of chips and split them into sandwich bags. If it's evening and I want one more snack for the day - I…
