You're not eating enough, at all! Calculate your BMR and TDEE. Always net at least above your BMR, but below (15 to 20% depending on how much you have to lose) below your TDEE. Netting 900 will only cause more harm than good in the long run!

145 does not seem right, but 649 seems high in my opinion for the elliptical. I would round down to a 400-500 calories burn instead to be on the safe side!

I am teaching myself to run now! I am still only beginning. This past week I have started to (seriously) watch my diet and keep track by holding myself accountable with mfp. But I have been learning to run for the past 2 months now. I could barely run a minute at first, but now I can run for up to 5 miles. Soo...I haven't…

Go to the gym!!! People don't pay much attention to others at the gym, everyone's focused on themselves. And if you still feel uncomfortable, you could start going early in the morning/late at night when the gym is emptier. You can do it! Good Luck!

I don't like the vibe I get from that site at all...5'7" 80 pounds?? Yikes!!
-
Or you could have some soup...you can even find some whole cans of soup for only 150 or so!

I want to eat a bag of Doritos so badly right now and am resisting! iI's midnight I don't need to...I distract myself (MFP!) until I can fall asleep.

If cramps are already in full force, working out only makes them worse for me. If I have taken enough ibuprofen and feel somewhat fine, I can workout but not as hard as I usually do. TOM leads to about a 5 pound water gain on the scale for a week too! grrrr

Same as you, last summer when I did the shred I gained about 4 pounds in 5 days. I didn't lose any weight from the shred by the end, only the 4 gained pounds went away, but I lost about 10" total. I'd rather lose inches than pounds anyday!

I would probably stick to washing your face only 1x after working, twice might be drying your skin out too much. And I agree, hormones have a lot to do with it. If you've just started a new exercise routine, you're body's probably in shock. When you took a week off, your body relaxed. So give it time to adjust to the…

I gain 3-5 pounds during my TOM. It's normal and goes away a week after my period ends...so I'm usually bloated for about 2 weeks out of the month.....Unfortunately

If I lived near a mountain, skiing would be my favorite!

Thanks, I think I have the wrong size shoe then. My feet swell a lot after any exercise. Anything I should do to treat the toes...or just let it grow out and paint over them?? Great article, thanks!!

I did this a few days ago on a bag of doritos....Just call it a wash, eat if you're hungry, and vow to yourself this won't happen again for a long time. You can do it! But don't not eat for the rest of the day. You'll be fine!

I gained the freshman 15...because I'm one of those people that when it comes to an all you can eat buffet, I want to get my "money's" worth. So I'm trying to lose this weight now that I am a sophomore, plus a few more! Just watch what you eat by tracking with MFP. I didn't have this app last year, so I wasn't really aware…

There is this one woman at the gym, who I will run into occaasionally working out next to me on the treadmill. She is tiny (I'd say 5'1 and probably no more than 90 pounds) but she seriously just pounds hard on the treadmill. She lets her whole body weight flunk onto the belt with each step. Boom boom boom boom......You'd…

Woah that's amazing! You practically did a half-marathon!

Try looking at videos online. When I need something new, sometimes I'll follow others doing Insanity (or 30 DS) all free on youtube. Worth a try! ex http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGMFr4ewJ6U

You look amazing! I don't see where you even need to lose another 12 pounds, congrats!
-
Yay congratulations!! Another reason why to not only rely on the scale!

Well since you have 9 weeks, and seem at a loss on where to start, I would consult a personal trainer as your best bet! He/She can help you come up with an eating plan along with the most effective workouts for you. You can probably even do only 1-2 sessions and just get a plan set up. But then it'll be up to you to keep…
