I’m on day 3 of not binging, what I have started doing is it I feel like it I have a big glass of water and drink it all at once to make me feel full. I’ve also been loading my fitness pal up and adding in the calories I would have to put in as if I actually ate them and trying to decide it’s worth it. Seems to be working…

Can't walk up a hill or the stairs without being out of breath. It happened recently, and I don't like it :(

Jan 4th, I beat the binge. Phew. Although I did factor the calories for the choc I usually have, but then added a fizzy drink on, woops.

You are correct in saying the total amount of calories shown on the box is assuming you will eat it all. However I would always log the 'extra' calories. Simply because calorie counting is not an exact science, will always be better to adding a few calories on, and therefore losing more weight, than trying to grab the…

Forget everybody else, do this for yourself. Like people say, switch to maintenance, give the dieting a break but don't gain it back, will feel much worse in the long run, I have been there too many times myself. Sometimes the best support we can receive is from our own self.

Depends if the binge happens due to emotions or to hunger. For me I could eat a whole cow, but then if something upsets me, could easily go on to binge about 4 choc bars. So telling someone to eat if its emotional binging, really would not help.

Nobody should be body shamed. I get where the 'fat activist' are coming from. However do believe they are wrong to be happy about their bodies unless they are healthy (i.e can dance, jump around and run without dying) can climb a flight of stairs without getting out of breath (I know I cant and this is something I want to…

Is there something wrong with you kbmnurse1? You can't tell a binge eater to eat eat eat.

Calories in drinks :( I like a sugary drink every day (330ml) and fitting it in my calorie allowance is a nightmare. I know I am going to have to give it up.

I made a new years resolution this year. First year that I have, and I've made it to myself, and not shared it with anybody. You guys can probably guess what it is, as I'm here, but I don't feel the need to shout about to my friends or facebook. I guess people that do shout about it on facebook either do it for validation,…

Sorry, I do eat, perhaps I worded it incorrectly. I meant the binge doesn’t happen during the day and I don’t think about it until night.

Jan1: Binge won Jan 2: binge won Jan 3: the binge half won. I hope to beat the binge tomorrow.

I am Kat, 28. Was thin until I had children, children are now 7 and 2 and it's time to stop blaming 'the baby weight' need to get it off. I binge eat snacks, usually because I am sad or bored and that's part of my problem, I don't have any issues with portion control on actual meals, apart from sometimes forcing myself to…

Following this because I binge too, and its awful. I barely eat during the day, or even think about eating, then it hits about 8pm and its all i can think about despite having dinner etc. I've even logged on here because all I can think about is eating, I'm not hungry, its like my body is yearning for the taste of…

It is such a long waiting list in the UK for therapy on the NHS I am still on the waiting list and it's been 6 months. I know someone who had to wait 1 year and 2 months :( I cannot afford to go private

I have around 90 pounds to lose also.

Thank you so much for your post. I had not tried yoga, meditation or a journal before, so they seem like great ideas :) I also have a history of trauma and abuse, and you are right, food is an escape, but I don't want to use it as an escape anymore.

I eat healthily and moderately, but then when I binge. I REALLY binge. Like I'll eat 5 Choc bars in a row. Or 5 bags of crisps. When I am doing it, I know it's wrong and I should stop, but it's like I have no control. Of course I have spoken to my doctor about it and they put me on anti depressants, which helped but I had…

Makes sense, thanks :)

The recommended amount of steps a day is 10,000 so from what I gather you don't get many calories unless you go over that. That's how my Fitbit works anyway and I have it set to lightly active, it also depends on how heavy you are to start with and I think it tracks periods where you are walking without stopping which…

This is me lol. Although i tend to eat healthy most of the time... *cough*

It's a weird one, but do you exercise? I'm unsure of the logic behind what i'm about to say as it's worked for me and I didn't intend on it. I have really bad GERD due to a hiatus hernia and it's got so much better since I started going to the gym. I've not lost much weight yet, so it can't be that. Maybe it's my stomach…
-
My main reason for losing weight is I have a hiatus hernia and my doctor has told me the reflux and pain I have with it will be reduced and maybe non existent if I get down to a healthy bmi, I'm in pain everyday so that's my motivation. Hence why I want the first bit of weight loss to be quick, I'll feel loads better. Also…

So according to this, if I create more calorie deficit via exercise, I can lose more weight than 2lb a week. Or is this just about the amount you consume? Because that's where information gets conflicted.
-
Yeah I meant that, eating healthy and by keeping to 1200. Thanks, unless there's something people are not telling me and I can have 1200 in chocolate and still lose the same amount!
-
Thanks everyone. I just keep getting mixed opinions from people outside the fitness world. Mostly myths like apparently the starvation mode one lol. I know that generally if I eat healthily and keep excercising I'll gradually lose weight, my pressure to lose it at 2lb a week is at the start. I mean even if I lose a stone…
-
Yummly sounds like a good idea, i'm going to check it out.
-
Thanks guys, it's just getting the motivation, whenever i've tried to lose weight in the past ive always just focused on the healthy foods I really like and I can't have almost all of them now, even salad gives me really bad acid reflux.

I'm a full time working mum, so I don't have much time for cooking, need quick and easy meal plans.

Doctor just gave me that list above, but with no real rule for losing weight, its difficult as I don't eat a lot to start with and I really struggle to get the weight off. He said I need to lose weight. I don't have a dietitian.
