  • Thank you for the post, so many forget that water is one of the best things we can put in our bodies. If you have troubles consuming enough water try putting fresh fruit into it this will add flavour with natural sugars.
  • The coffee itself has no nutritional value. It is actually a deterrent to good nutrition as a caffinated beverage it inhibits your body from absorbing calcium and it also dehydrates so you need to drink even more water. If you are going to drink coffee (I haven't given up my morning cup) I would suggest trying to drink it…
  • Congrats on the good results, keep up the good work. I noticed a couple of things when I was looking at your diary, there seems to be a lot of processed foods, these are high in sodium and sodium makes our bodies retain water, I would suggest watching the sodium intake. Also try more fruit and vegie as snacks. Try drinking…
  • Great to see everyone is having great results. I am still at 138 lb but I am totally ok with that as it is steady and not increasing. Go Canucks!!!
  • Keep up the great work everyone, the results will come. I myself am still at the 138 I posted last week. We will see how this week goes.
  • Welcome Mom and Congrats Tasha!! I have been gone a while trying things on my own. I am still close to where I want to be at 138 lbs. Will be back in full force next week.
  • The calculation I mentioned above is from the article, copy and paste the link below, and comes from the Canadian Dietitians Association or Canada Food Guide, I can't remember which.…
  • How much water to drink, here is a calculation to determine how much is enough for you. Your body weight in pounds divided in half equals the total amount of ounces of water you should consume in a day. For example if you weigh 150 lbs you should consume 75 ounces of water. This would be between 9 and 10 8 ounce servings.…
  • When you set your goals did you ask to maintain or lose, MFP sets your calorie intake based on that. You need to eat most of the exercise calories as your body needs the fuel to keep the motor running. Keep up the good work, the results will come.
  • Jay, they say that try drinking water first because it can sometimes make us think that we are hungry even if we aren't. I find that drinking water is a great trick for making the body stop thinking it is hungry, chewing gum, sugarless of course, also does this, at least for me.
  • Welcome aboard from Edmonton, AB.
  • Hey everyone. I am down to 136 mark so that is .5 of a pound down. I have brought my water consumption back to where is should be, I had been under way too much lately. Remember to eat and log your food, also I find that exercise is a great stress reliever. Good luck everyone. Hope it is a great week.
  • Try not to increase time as this doesn't seem to do as much as increasing the intensity of the workout. On a treadmill try a higher incline or higher speed. Maybe even try interval training as it seems to increase heart rates with shorter workouts. With strength training try to increase weight being used. As for the big…
  • Sorry I missed the weigh in last week but it is great to see that everyone is doing so well. I will try to weigh in this week. Go Canucks go.
  • All our bodies eventually get used to the routine and need a change. I try to change my routine up about once a month.
  • DON"T Throw out the Raisin Bran that quickly. If you compare it to the Bran Flake alternative from that manufacturer you will probably see a low sugar content. RAISINS are the culprit, they are very high in naturally occurring sugars and these are not bad. You want to stay away from refined sugars and corn and cane syrup,…
  • Welcome aboard from Alberta, Canada. My husband and I visited your beautiful state in August and my sister in law's mom lived there for many years and she still has relatives through the state.
  • In December I stopped tracking and exercising, at the time I had 4 pounds to go. The weight at that point had gotten stuck and I figured the change would do me good. After Christmas I came back to MFP and started exercising again, I also stepped on the scale and saw that I had lost 2 pounds, I think the body needed a…
  • If is it a liquid 1 cup = 250 ml = 8 fl oz. If is a solid then it can be difficult to figure out. I find that if I do not know then I will use Google by typing in what I need to convert from and to.
  • Sometimes we have to allow ourselves a treat. When we go out I make sure that I order a tossed salad with the Dressing on the side, this helps control the amount used. I dip the fork into the dressing the into the salad. Some others will ask for a take out container so that they can portion the meal before they start…

  • Hey Everyone, hope you had a great week. I am the same this week too, 136.5 but I am okay with this. I did my measurements because the clothes were feeling looser that they used to and the measurements have decreased. Good Luck to All. Go Canucks Go;-D
  • Roast is great, like others say watch the portion size. As for the gravy, that may be something that you will have to pass on. The base for any good gravy is fat, from the roast or margarine, and flour.
  • You need to take time off once in a while. I walk everyday but that is because my dog needs to walk everyday. When it comes to exercising, I take 2 days a week off. Don't feel guilty about days off.
  • Hey Everyone, hope you all had a great week. I have no change to report, the scale did not budge off of 136.5. Keep up the good work all.
  • I have a TV in front of my treadmill and I can watch whatever I find interesting while jogging away the miles, I also have my ipod on so that I can listen to it during the commercials. I can read on my bike but not on my treadmill, too much bouncing.
  • I don't like the ads that are posted in sidebars on any site, but I understand that if they were not there we would have to pay a fee to use the site. I would suggest ignoring them, what I try to do, or use them as motivation to be the best you can be.
  • Reading that everyone else is making healthy selections, I feel really bad. My hubby and I always make Friday our night out after a long week of work. But I will be watching what I eat the rest of the day, trying to make the healthiest selection I can at the restaurant and exercising when I get home:blushing: .
  • I got back to working out last week and been doing 5 nights a week. Today will be 10 in 2 weeks. It feels soooo nice to be back at it, body is aching a little but it feels good. Go Canucks Go.
  • I am in agreement with everyone else here, please take time to go an see your doctor and have a frank discussion with him and ask for a referral to a nutritionist. You say that since starting to eat healthy you have gained weight and I notice that you want to lose, maybe it is your body telling you that you don't have any…
  • I wish it was easier too, but stick with it and it becomes second nature. Good luck we are all here to help each other.
