I don't currently fall into any category above, but I AM trying to physically prepare myself in order to pursue a commission into the US Air Force. I've been working hard to improve my strength, drop the weight, increase muscle mass, and increase my endurance. I would love to share ideas surrounding nutrition, training,…

This might sound weird, but I can now wear my undergarments under dress pants without feeling like a stuffed sausage! Before, it felt like the fabric was pinching and making everything tighter. Now, I actually have ROOM in my pants, (which are two sizes less than my starting pant size!)

My job definitely contributed to my weight gain throughout the past three years. When I first started with the company I work for, I was 170 lbs (and at 5'8, this looked healthy and strong). I began to partake in the lunch trips to the restaurants and the nibbling of snacks and goodies that reps would bring in (I work in…

My mom has experience with ghosts and has seen them many times in the past, but I never did until after my grandfather (Pappy) died in 2013. Pappy and I were close; he and grandmother helped my parents raise me and he was like my second father. My twin sister and I spent each afternoon at my grandparents house, and most of…

Right?! I feel this way too all the time! I weighed in at 39 lbs. lost this morning and I thought that maybe the scale was just off. But then I had to snap myself out of it. I've been busting my *kitten* for almost four months, so I'm pretty sure the scale cant be wrong for four months! Ha ha, I thought I was the only one…

Thank you so much, friends! I truly appreciate the support and positivity! xo JJ

Thank you all! Your kind words make my day! @Eleted: Some weeks show more of a loss than others. I found that the first 25 lbs. came off pretty rapidly when I went from zero exercise to working out 5-6 days per week. After that, the weight started coming off more slowly and right now, I'm only averaging a few pounds per…

This is great advice and mirrors what I wanted to say. Don't focus on trying to control every aspect of your workouts and progress. Eating disorders are about control (and subsequently lack of control), and the more you try to create this regime for yourself, the greater possibility there is for self-sabotage. Break out of…

Yes. Have you ever gone white water rafting? JJ

I can't agree more with you, Michael. It's amazing what our bodies are capable of. JJ

Thank you all so much. It truly means the world that I have such a support system in MFP. XO

Yes, that's all I meant by that comment. JJ

You're right, eating disorders are terrible. They strip you of all control and leave you second-guessing yourself in all kinds of ways. I've been there too and understand the hatred you have towards your body. Honestly, after three years of recovery, I still hate mine too. And while each day I become stronger, I know that…

Thank you both, ChristineE63 and Empressjasmin. Really appreciate the support! xo JJ

This is amazing; congratulations! You look so happy! I've started running again after a two year pause and it was the best decision I could have made! I am always looking for friends on here who share my passion with running! Job well done and keep it up! xo JJ

So many of these pre-fabricated milks have sugars in them and other refined ingredients that will make you feel worse in the long run. My advice: stick with organic regular milk for the protein and shy away from the flavored milks. Even organic almond milk would be preferable to chocolate milk. My favorite post-workout…

Keep up the great work, sir! You got this. I can't wait to start weight lifting again!

Feel free to add me, everyone. I log daily and am always around to offer support and a listening ear! :) Jessica

I love Dominoes BUT it certainly hates me! Here's an alternative: I make pizza from scratch at least once or twice a week, and it ISN'T half as time consuming as it sounds! I start off with a roll of pre-made dough (usually from Whole Foods or even a deli like Kroger). I roll it out and sprinkle olive oil, roasted garlic,…

Every morning I eat the same thing with a slight variation: three egg whites, cream cheese or a piece of cheese, a piece of toast, a banana, and coffee/ water. What I found is that when I ate more refined carbs with my eggs like 1/2 a bagel or a hamburger bun, I would feel super hungry not even an hour later! Try more…

Justin, I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. It's hard taking care of yourself when grief surrounds you; I know how difficult it is and trust that you are among people who will support you and cheer you on! You can do this. Small victories each day turn into large ones. Jessica
