  • In my case (fructose intolerance or w/e name you want to use for it,) I had to lower my sugar intake dramatically. I'm feeling great now. However, I eat lots of basmati rice, so I think there may be an association with carbs and sugars... so many different types. I also don't do well with lactose.

  • Solution: Figured out that I was not intaking enough sodium since I was prepping all my food and being "clean." I was getting at most 1g of sodium and I was drinking a lot of water at the same time. Turns out the chloride used for creation of stomach acid is found in salt along with sodium. I made sure to add enough salt…
  • Good work! Keep it up, you can do it! I do recommend some light therapy for your back/ankles/joints etc. My mom has had issues with her knees, I've gotten her to stretch her hamstrings and calves on a daily basis and it's helped her. Unfortunately, she stops doing them after the pain goes away and it it comes back. >.<…
  • Banana's are not bad per se. The fructose in them is bad if you have fructose malabsorption or intolerance. I had 100g of banana yesterday and noticed symptoms within 2-3 hours. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000359.htm
  • If you really want to keep it simple, then do so. Buy a food scale. I use this one, but you don't need to. It has a max 11lb capacity and 1g gram accuracy. http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Kitchen-Silver/dp/B001N07KUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394039770&sr=8-1&keywords=food+scale Bake or boil chicken (in…
  • Best of luck. Being healthy is a hard goal. Try to break it down into smaller steps, and don't beat yourself up when you take a slip. Every time you try again, you start ahead of where you did the first time whether it's physically or mentally.
  • Sactownfilmer, lol thanks anyways. Alabaster, I didn't mention this in my OP because it was already too long as is. I first experience the stomach burn when I changed my diet to eggs/protein shake (been doing this for over a year now for breakfast about 95% of the year) then for lunch I would have steel cut oats because I…
  • I'm a bit on the same boat. I've recently started on the FODMAP/paleo diet. Been doing eggs, homemade rice milk (basmati), white popcorn, celery, spinach, baby spinach/kale/chard mix, radish, tangerines, and chicken. Tried navel orange and kiwi today and notice more bloating than usual. /: I'm trying to be more rigorous…
  • Lean muscle, most likely means strength, not bulky muscle, which I think should be doable on such a calorie intake. She says she works out 5 days a week, but not how much. Could just be a few sets of body weight exercises and such. Kellesee, You're welcome, I wish you luck. Funny enough I was only able to get about 1100…
  • $70 per week seems on the high side to me. Are you living on your own? Basically, do you share a fridge? I think a basic diet of eggs, some protein powder, meats, veggies and fruits should not be too expensive. I hear the buy in season thrown around a lot. I find that buy eggs in bulk is a very cheap breakfast. I have been…
  • I'm currently trying to maintain a FODMAPs/Paleo/ketosis variant diet. (Trying to keep my carbs below 90g or so.) There's two lists on google that turn up searching "FODMAPs paleo." I've noticed a lot of sources contradict each other on some of the items. I've struggled with bloating for a long time and finally got fed up.…
  • I have both of these. The second one seems to be identical to the first, minus bucks. it has 1g accuracy up to 11kg. Units: g, kg, oz, lb. http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Kitchen-Silver/dp/B001N07KUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393218864&sr=8-1&keywords=scale+food…
  • Hello kellesee, I think first you need to think about why you end up eating so little? Are you too busy throughout your day, just don't feel hungry, ignore the hunger, can't afford more food, don't have time to cook/prep food? It would help tailor advice a bit better this way I think. I've been trying to limit my food to…
