So I bought a food scale last night! :)
-
Wow! Thank you for sharing this with me!
A scale makes all the difference. I started out without one and lost fine, but then I decided to give it a shot. It adds another layer of accountability. It is surprising how off some foods can be. Now that I am at maintenance knowing exactly how much I am eating is very important. I don't have much wiggle room. As…

This does make a lot of sense. Honestly, I've been pretty much guessing if my chicken, beef, etc... are about 2 oz or 4 oz, etc... So I definitely see your point of the food scale. I just always have a deficit at the end of the day, so I figured if I was off, my deficit would take care of it. Plus, MFP suggests for me to…

I weighed 180 lbs on Oct 1st when I started. I'm 5'10". 40 yrs old. My goal is 155 lbs, so I have 15 more pounds to go. So it's not a huge weight loss goal.
-
I don't have a food scale, so I don't weigh anything, but I'm sure my portions are correct, because I've been successful in the past with weight loss and logging. However, I've hit the wonderful age of 40 this year and I know as we get older our metabolism slows down. I'm guessing that's why it's being a bit of a struggle…

Funny you should mention that time of the month, because it's about that time now. Like, I should be getting it any day now. Last time I had a loss was the last time I had my period, ironically.
-
I just figure it might be used to what I've been doing for the past 5 weeks or so. I've read that if you change things up a bit (or like I called it, "shocking" ... lol) it might give my body a metabolism boost. No?
-
I'm going to try to "shock" my body by switching things up a bit. Maybe my body has become "used to" my ways of dieting for the past month and has grown comfortable with the initial changes.

There's really no problem with taking a multivitamin every day. Doctors even recommend it for children. Whatever your body doesn't absorb it will pass through your urine anyway, as long as it's a water soluble vitamin. If you notice it makes you feel better than by all means take it! Lol. I take a regular, generic brand…

Do the glucosamine tabs really work for you? I have arthritic issues, especially from my Lyme disease, and I know my mom swears by them.

Do you think you've hit a plateau?
I agree about the S Health for Samsung. I wasn't sure about the steps, but I've driven a couple of routes that I walk, and the mileage is spot on. My Garmin Vivosmart, however, sometimes counts steps when I'm doing things like chopping vegetables..
My Pacer app on my phone counts steps while I'm turning…

I know everyone is different, but for me, I'm more hungry on the days I DON'T work out in some way. I was also quite hungry the first week or two until my tummy was like, "oh.... I see.... I'm not going to get as much anymore." Just keep with it. One big help, too, is water. If you feel hunger pains coming on, slam a glass…

Is that the S Health app or something like that?

Your metabolism will slow down and when you start eating more, it will store whatever is in excess of the caloric intake you were eating before as fat. You will eventually gain your weight back once you're not eating this caloric value anymore.
-
You'll gain it all back, and fast, once you are NOT eating that caloric intake. And I can bet you won't forever. Your body will find ways to tell you this is not enough for it to sustain life forever.

I love the EAS shakes. Not as chalky as others, great taste, and packed with protein and vitamins. Trusted name, also!

Starting weight: 178 Current weight:177 October goal: 173 Ultimate goal: 150 October 1st : 178 October 8th: 177 October 15th : 172 (Say whaaaaaa?????? Buckwheat pancakes! They're so yummy. And the protein in them is higher than regular pancake mix.

I know EXACTLY where you're coming from! I also have 3 children and a boyfriend who, although is very encouraging of my MFP addiction, exercise, and eating (hate the word "dieting") habits, he is also sometimes quick to offer a bite of his chocolate bar, spoonful of his ice cream, or chunk of his doughnut. Hahaha! But in a…

I'm aiming for a weight that I was at a few years ago and felt comfortable in my skin. It was also the low end of my recommended weight for my height (5'10"). That's when I felt my absolute healthiest and had sooo much energy. You'll know what yours is when you feel that sense of happiness with yourself. I recommend what I…

No one uses a pedometer app?

Apparently, we're in the same boat, pretty much! I try not to look too much at the scale, either. I only really weigh myself on Sundays b/c I joined an October challenge on here to lose at least 5 lbs this month.
-
HAHAHA! Okay... lol. I would HOPE you're not cutting body parts off! Wanna lose 20 lbs? Just CHOP OFF a leg! Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh this morning!
-
I believe you're right. I just figured since I was 4 weeks into it, I would have already lost 4 lbs, since I'm eating and working out to lose a lb/wk. But I guess my body is doing it's own thing for now, and will catch up with itself later? lol..

"on a cut?." What is a "cut?"
