I love Vegemite on toast, fresh bread, Saos or rice cakes. I can't eat it without some butter or margarine though. I have a recipe to make a 'lighter' version of those cheese and Vegemite scrolls that Baker's Delight sells, but they are never quite as nice as the store bought ones!

Hi everyone! Another Melbourne gal here, hopping back on the wagon after letting my "work life" get in the way of the rest of my life! I don't log every day; I do fess up to over eating; and I work out when I can. Local Aussie support would be fab!

Hi! I am back on the MFP path after several weeks (months?) away. I am a 36 yo old Aussie in Melbourne. I am starting up my own business and got so busy with that I lost sight of my health and lifestyle goals. My new goal is to regain some balance! Belle

I am glad to know I am not the only one! Good to be a part of the 'club'! :glasses:

I really enjoyed this thread. thanks MFP'ers. :flowerforyou:

Thanks for your tips, they're great. I go swimming with my mum once a week and go to a yoga class once a week, so I have that part down pat. I do feel the need to add in a daily walk/exercise. I used to walk to and from work most days, so I need to replace that with something.

Thanks, those are some great ideas. So good to know I am not the only one struggling with this new way of working/living/MFPing.

Yes! Now I just get the double-choc - I've decided to go muffin, might as well go the whole way (then get back on track)

Ditto! And those rice snack things, multi coloured, sometimes wrapped in seaweed.

Yep, that's the formula for weight loss. One of the catches is making sure you honestly and accurately log your food intake. Took me ages to get into the habit, but it really pays off. I log via my phone ASAP after eating, ditto for exercising. If I wait until I get home I forget bits. Good luck.

I'm a Cello - hips/bum/thighs wider than my boobs, with a defined waist in between.

I suggest you look at other MFPers' food diaries to see what MFPers' 'normal' food looks like. I struggle to get my cals down under 2000. MFP tells me to aim for 1580. I only get close to breaking even on days when I exercise, but by observing my MFP friends' habits I am slowly making the changes needed to get my cal count…

You can also find recipies to bake your own bread and make your own muesli. If you can buy the ingredients in bulk it may turn out cheaper per serve. The catch is you have to have teh cash up fromnt to buy in bulk. You could team up with some friends and buy in bulk together - a 10 kilo bag of rice can be divided inot 2 x…

What do you value?

Correct. IMO you need to see a doctor, community nurse or pharmacist.

You need to fuel your body - eating back your exercise calories is the way MFP is designed. Also, it's very unlikely that one day of eating over your calorie goal will make the scale "blow up". If you're really worried about it, don't weigh yourself until next week. You are in control of your eating and your body - not the…

A lawyer, and after doing that for 10 years I've just quit to dabble in fashion, teaching and to become a mediator.

There was a really good thread on here recently about eating more when having a period. The gist of it was, the body is working harder to do waht it has to do, so the base line metabolic rate/calories burned is higher, hence the increased hunger. I say don't stress, try not to go overboard, and don't weigh in that week :)…

My problem is that hubby will sometimes pour me a wine/cider without first asking if I want it/have calories budgetted for it. Once it's in the glass, I can't say no ;)

Well done on identifying this as a change you can make. I often have wraps for lunch. I bring the ingredients from home and put them together right before eating it, rather than making the wrap at home. This would work for tinned tuna, chicken, turkey slices, ham, felalfels, roast veggies. If you want fewer carbs at lunch…

I enjoy peppermint tea and cammomile tea. I tend to let them cool to room temp before I drink them. I sometimes have green tea, which I drink hot. With meals I might have sparkling mineral water with a slice of lemon and/or lime, and sometimes a squeeze of lemon/lime juice. Iced teas can have a lot of carbs from sugar in…

Same can be said for inhaling oxygen. It's a toxic world.
