I try to eat low carb to lose weight but meat is expensive. As a single Mum I have to be a flexitarian. I eat a lot of Quorn as easy to cook, a relatively cheap protein with a better texture than tofu (and probably better for me and the environment). I add fajita spices, red bell peppers and onion and stir-fry. In the UK…

I am on the Isle of Wight but unable to take measurements as on holiday visiting my Mum (and dont want to after the amount of pavlova/cake I ate yesterday!) Will be walking about 5 miles today so will do well on exercise. My Mum always eats heathily which is why she is a uk size 10 (us size 6) and I'm not, so should have a…

It''s Friday and my last day of work for a week as going to the Isle of Wight to visit my Mum tomorrow. Not sure how often I'll be able to log on so if you dont hear from me for a few days, I havent deserted you. She eats very healthily so I wont be doing any binge eating. I also wont have much if any opportunity to run…

Day 3 was good despite realising I couldn't run home from work as I need the car to take my daughter to the orthadontist first thing day 4 morning. Took the dog for a run instead for half an hour and with a 15 minute walk each way too, it meant I was under my calories by the end of the day. Was going to add a photo of my…

Gugar gliders? They are the cutest thing ever and I've never heard of them! Love the photos! I appear to have lost 3 lbs in 3 days. I didnt believe it at first so weighed myself 3 times and it appears to be true! It has given me real motivation to have a good day so am going to run home from work - its about 5 miles and…

I want to know about your nocturnal pets svesemenja! What are they? Come out of their pouches? I'm intrigued! I am using 3kg weights when I do my strengthening exercises but they are too heavy for me really and cant do shoulder flies very well. I dont have any 2 kg ones though so hope it'll become easier. Didnt run today…

dvelocity -II would have thought someone with these measurements would have a BMI of over 30.5 so would not be within healthy range. Also, I'm no expert but as people put on weight, their waist and hip measurements generally become closer as weight goes on waist more than hips so it would be unusual to have this ratio. Kate

Mandy and Jenny - I'm dead jealous!

Morning all. Its cloudy here on the south coast of Britain. Secret Eaters was interesting last night. Did any other Brits see it? They suggested that if you binge eat that you weigh yourself every day so you can see how it effects your weight gain. Friday nights are often my cheat days that can escalate to a binge if I am…

Its so inspiring to hear what you are all doing and what you struggle with. 30 day shred and Insanity sound very popular - and I must do some exercise to Buffy some time as Sarah Michelle Gellar is a great role model for fitness. Becky, let us know what you plan for your double workout tomorrow as I could do with some new…

Love all things Whedon especially Buffy and Doll House. Grrr Argh. My attention span is too short to be labelled a nerd or a geek though!

Thank you my Thai friend. It's 8.30am here in Britain. I'm about to go for a run with my dog before breakfast and work as I struggle to do cardio exercise in the evening . I've left it late today. I usually run about 6.30am. Some members of the last group found it useful to log in once in the morning with their priorities…

I keep it at work and put some in the microwave when I get hungry. I'm happy to eat it plain just made up with semi skimmed milk. Need to cook half a cup for at least 3 minutes so its soft and have to add more liquid after its cooked so its runny enough. In Britain you can buy smart price Oats in all supermarkets. Its…

Love the idea that up to 20% of total net calories a day can be treat foods. That would be 240 calories for me which is moderate!

Just responded to this same question on amore recent thread - have a look. Good luck

Psychology place a huge part in motivating yourself to meet your goals. I write down weight and fitness goals, stick it up in my bedroom and read them twice a day to remind myself that exercising is my chosen priority. No-one is forcing me to do it but I choose to and I want to. I write my goals in present tense with a…

Both. I used to be a carb junkie - chocolate, sweets, icecream, crisps, bread etc but have reduced my carbs and increased my protein. I have found that by increasing my protein - ensuring I eat it at every meal as a minimum - I dont crave carbs like I used to which helps me stay within my net calorie intake for the day.
