  • I love yoga! I used to live in an area with a great studio. Since I loved to a more rural area, I have fallen out of practice this sounds fun!
  • I'd love an accountability group! Send me a request 🙂
  • I use mine to cook plain shredded chicken to eat on salads or recipes throughout the week. I've also cooked corn on the cob in it and made a lentil and bean soup using the slow cooker function. It didn't make the lentils mushy like my regular slow cooker! I've also made this:…
  • I eat egg and turkey sausage muffins almost every morning. I'm more concerned about the processed turkey sausage, so I'm looking for an alternative. The eggs are here to stay though!
  • Amy's meals are great! I feel much better about eating them over Lean Cuisine because the ingredients are mostly clean. Eat one of those with a side salad and you have a decently healthy meal.
  • Spinach and romaine salad with grilled chicken, blueberries, feta, almond slivers with dried cranberries, croutons, and strawberry vinaigrette dressing. First meal of my 21 Day Fix! (My containers have different colors because they are off brand but the measurements are the same.)
  • You can count me in! I'm 27 and want to lose 30-ish pounds. I am also a serial starter. I did my best when I lived in a more urban area and was in love with my local yoga studio. Now that I'm in a rural area and more or less on my own, it's so much harder!
  • Thanks! I'm going to make a double batch of chicken pot pie soup tonight and will cook a chicken to shred and freeze this weekend.
  • Thanks for the feedback! I've decided that I don't think it's for me right now. I'm going to try to incorporate the real food principles into my diet, but I think I'd be setting myself up to fail with such a strict elimination diet. I've already mostly eliminated gluten from my diet after my neurologist and I identified it…
  • Hello! I need to lose about 20 pounds as well. I recently moved to a new (ridiculously tiny) town and don't have a lot of friends here to keep me accountable. I was at my healthiest when I lived near a metro area and did hot yoga about 5 times a week. There are no yoga studios around where I live now, and I have trouble…
  • Does the shredded chicken thaw nicely? How long does it keep in the freezer?
  • I like budgetbytes.com. She doesn't include calorie counts, but her meals are made with healthy foods/cooking methods, they are easy to make and delicious!
  • Just got a Fitbit! www.fitbit.com/user/3SY4WH
  • Beef stew with potatoes, carrots, onions and celery! Super yummy!
  • Thanks for the responses! I've never been a morning person so working out in the morning is super difficult. However, like Susan said... I also crash in the evening! My work is just never finished, you know?
  • GO TO A STUDIO! Seriously. Find a beginner level class or workshop in your area, take a deep breath, and GO! Good yoga instructors are kind, understanding people. I was never able to really get anything from yoga when I did it at home with a DVD. There's something about being in a class that is inspiring. It's also super…
  • Anything Amy's brand!
  • I had fried chicken and french fries from Zaxby's this weekend. You can't be good all of the time. Recognize it can't be the norm and move on. That said, my go-to for a road trip is Chick-fil-A. You can get a grilled chicken sandwich and a side of fruit for a reasonable amount of calories. I get the chicken nuggets and…
  • You should definitely go to a class if you have injuries and are new to the practice. Talk to an instructor beforehand about your limitations. A good instructor will open class by asking if anyone has any injuries. You'll find there are a lot of students who do modified poses to help with injuries, even those who aren't…
  • Yummy! I can never cook qunioa properly so I'll have to try it. Anyone else have any recipes? I'd love to be able to whip up something like a homemade Rice-a-Roni without all of those nasty chemicals
  • I'm not much of a gym person so I've been working out at Be Yoga on the Square. The hot classes (especially pilates and baptiste yoga) are a killer workout! They have so many classes every day it's easy for me to get there even though my work schedule is chaotic. I also love the community atmosphere. They have a special…
  • Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. I'm still considering it because anything is worth a shot at this point, but I think I'll look a little more into it.
  • All of the things! I love the buffalo turkey burgers (though I don't make the slaw) and the kid friendly crock pot turkey chili (which I make less kid friendly and add black beans).
  • Would you share that pot pie recipe?
  • I haven't tried all of these, but here are the ones I've marked: http://www.pinterest.com/nikki_dw/slow-cooking/ The spinach lasagna is my favorite. Really, all you need is a meat and a sauce. Dump some chicken with some buffalo sauce, cook for 6-8 hours, shred and have buffalo chicken sandwiches. Do the same thing with…
  • I struggled with this at first but I'm getting better. I pack my lunch that's usually a sandwich, edamame, yogurt and a fruit along with an apple and some kind of chips or crackers for a snack. The fat free Pringles aren't that bad at all and are almost as good as the full-fat version. They have 70 calories a serving just…
  • I have the same issue and most of mine comes from fruit. Today, I ate a cup of grapes and an apple and there it went... plus the sugar that occurs naturally in my other foods.
  • I love meat and my boyfriend is a steak and potatoes kind of guy, but I try to go meatless a few times a week. My favorite recipes are slow cooker spinach lasagna and black bean burgers. Slow cooker spinach lasagna…
  • Not many people have mentioned it to me, but this weekend I went to a friend's house for dinner. She opened the door and said, "You look skinny!" It definitely felt awesome. :flowerforyou: I've lost about 8 pounds of my 30-pound goal.
