  • HRM's are a must. I find I burn more than the suggested "Circuit Exercise" option, but some people burn less. HRM keeps it pretty accurate. I think I spent $30 on one but use it all the time.
  • Just finished my course work and passed my comps for my PhD. Trying to balance all of this has been tough. During my Masters I ballooned and then lost 30 pounds as soon as I graduated. During the 3 years of PhD coursework I gained about half of that back and then lost it again this past summer when I finished courses and…
  • Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. I've been twice and hope to return every year.
  • It's hard for me to work out in the mornings because my food levels aren't there to sustain the workout. I usually go in the afternoon when I've had a good breakfast and lunch and then a protein/carb snack about 30 minutes before. Just my method for making it through the whole workout. I've been getting some really good…
  • If I were you I would repeat at least week 4 before going into the recovery week. That's just me though. I've tried not to miss any days and if I do I shift my rest day around.
  • I'm doing well. I'm actually repeating week 4 before going into recovery week because next week is a vacation with a lot of travel. I'm going to bring the recovery DVD and do it, but didn't want to jump into the Max stuff while on he road. I don't like rest days because its hard for me to get going following it, but we can…
  • I really like the taste. They sell it at most grocery stores. Wal-Mart is a little sketchy as ours keep it in the sporting goods section. The local grocery store sells it 10 for $10 most of the time. I'm going to try the recovery shakes Gatorade makes too. I hear good things about chocolate milk. Have a friend who drinks…
  • Along with stretching, you must replenish your body with some protein. I drink Gatorade Recovery drink right after and it seems to help curb the soreness. Advil works for a bit, but wouldn't do it too much. I just finished week 4 and understand the early pain. That part gets better. I've found my muscles feel heavy later…
  • Are you all still going strong?
  • I'm finishing week 4 tomorrow. It's been a great ride and I'm happy with the results thus far. Keep going!
  • I get really cranky if I don't workout. It is difficult to get motivated some days but you just have to force yourself. I want results and think about it every time I look in the mirror. MFP helps me too because I know I need to eat the right things before and after I workout. I'm starting to see results in fit of clothes,…
  • I just started the third week and I can feel and begin to see a difference in my body. Down 5 pounds and I have more energy than I have in a long time. MFP and the success stories and knowing others are doing the same things helps keep me going. My wife is down 4 lbs in a week of 30DS.
  • I started on June 11 and just finished my 2nd fit test as well. I'm going to post FT1 and FT2 results below. During FT1, I pushed it too much and got sick by the last exercise. Learned a lesson there. Bought a HRM too which helps me keep up with the calories. I usually end the workouts with a full bottle of Gatorade…
