  • Hi all I am new to this group. I am reading "The end of dieting" by Fuhrman right now. I read ETL years ago but was turned off by the low fat thing. Now I am realizing he's not so much low fat as he is no oil. The fact that I can still have nuts and can make salad dressings with nuts and nut butters is interesting. I want…
  • Mediterranean diet
  • I feel like that all the time. I have never been successful losing weight. I really have never been able to diet and consistently exercise. I know I need to create a calorie deficit but how... there are so many approaches. My head spins with all the different approaches...
  • Yes Cristophe, I am with you. I recently had 95 days alcohol free and then gave it up for a cocktail on a patio. 3 weeks of imbibing followed and I gained 10 lbs in those 3 weeks. I quit again and now I have about 3weeks alcohol free. This time I plan on it being indefinite, not just a year.
  • where did it go? i just clicked on the link and it says its been removed. bummer, i would have loved to see how this is going for you.
  • well i hate to tell you this. but i quit all alcohol -not a sip- for 70 days early 2014 and i did not lose one pound. not a lb. i am 37 and i guess my metabolism has just slowed so much that cutting out alcohol did not budge my weight... depressing.
  • a friend just told me she bought bean noodles off amazon. i don't know whether she liked them. i think i will order some. i'll let you know.
  • havent been able to kick it. i use natural bliss lowfat vanilla. its 20 cals a tbsp and i use about 5-6 tbsp per morning so i am adding a good 100-120 cals. its my last and only vice.
  • wow, that core challenge is hard core [pun intended]. i have the hardest time planking! i'll try it tomorrow. thanks!
  • dropped 2 more lbs. makes 6 in 2 weeks. i am pretty sure that would not have happened if i had kept drinking. cheers!
  • well today is alcohol free day 15. made it 2 weeks. it seems like longer. it isnt hard once its off the table. except for times like last night when my husband tried to get me to go to my favorite mexican restaurant where they have awesome margaritas. its my complete weak spot, and i cant go there and not have a margarita…
  • it was hard to for me cut it out while pregnant, and i did, but towards the end i had a couple drinks on a couple occasions. its definitely kept me fat, and it also kept me in an underperforming mode. it was hard to do all the housework, work out, cook take care of my toddler etc. to do all those things without being super…
  • its so nice to see other women that are struggling with this like i am. today is my 7th alcohol free day in a row. yay! after having my daughter almost 2 years ago, i have not lost any baby weight due to being too sedentary and inadvertently keeping up with my husband when it comes to drinking. that is not good because my…
  • I am too. I am trying really hard to quit all alcohol calories. my wedding anniversary is saturday. and i am already thinking about being out and what i want to do. it would be so hard not to drink on that evening, because my husband definitely will. as a couple we have indulged far too often, and we dont burn those…
  • runnerd9000, how do you go about making your yogurt? i have wanted to do that for a long time but don't know the best way to go. thanks!
  • i am here. just logged in after many months away. i want to try to cut out alcohol as much as possible. its hard though because i have a toddler who demands 200% of my time and energy so i really look forward to kicking my feet up with a drink when she does ot bed. however, i still havent lost the baby weight almost 2…
  • I have a local mexican restaurant that we like to go to for margaritas, chips and salsa and fajitas with flour tortillas. I am guessing the entire meal is probably around 4,000 calories.
  • It kills my appetite in the short term, but increases it after a day or so.
