  • Could you please elaborate on or describe some of your 'combo calisthenic' routines or exercises?
  • Unless your kidneys are stressed out or not functioning, your endocrine system will balance out your actual blood calcium levels and you shouldn't see any weirdness from a little too much calcium in a day. And just to clarify,Vit D is involved in calcium absorption. VitK is part of the blood clotting process. And assuming…
  • Save your money,in case you're thinking of buying into the program. The premise is simple: Eat better, exercise harder. Nothing novel. The exercises are simple, generally bodyweight/calesthenics like push-ups and pull-ups,rows,squats,lunges and ab work. A few dumbell things thrown in here and there. Do 'sets' of 2 exercises…
  • Fellow RN here as well. My hospital has a discount on pedometers for staff--that would be a start as well. I'm a 12-hr Day/NOC rotator in an ICU. I may put on a few miles on some busy days running between rooms,a few yards on others, depends on acuity. I have managed to take off 40 lbs this year DESPITE the sleep…

I think if I ever hit 170 my recovery would consist of falling to the floor and gasping for air for 5 minutes. Maybe after a few more months of cardio I'll risk…
  • BB- I have a HRM. How long does your trainer have you stay in the 180's? X amount of time,or just go like mad til you hit 188 then recover? Also,188 is what % or your maximum HR? Thnkas NV
  • azlady- There are two basic types of irregular beats. You are most likely feeling what are called PAC's,or premature atrial contractions. The big culprits for causing these: caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, electrolyte imbalances. Probably no big deal, but it should be worked up.
  • Thanks for the responses. BR1986FB: I have heard that the Insanity videos have a lot of jumping around--not compatible with cartilage loss and meniscus injuries in my knees. Ditto the treadmill speeds from Bi..Je.. Lyad...: In what way is HIIT different from the rest? Is it just a matter of intensity/duration? I suspect…
