^^^^ This! You burn way more by walking than sitting on the couch watching t.v. You will eventually need to kick it into a higher workout if you want major changes but walking is a respectable start for anyone.

Even as you increase mileage alternate walking and running. Be patient and remember to do your best and not compare yourself to others. Be more focused on finishing than beating a set time until you lower weight and increase ability to run.

I have not read the instructions on my HRM yet but need to. I advise you to do the same. I know that when I first got my HRM the preset weight was 140 pounds but I am 165 so you need to make sure you have your proper weight listed on the HRM. Once the weight & height info is accurate everything else should line up.

I felt the same way about the taste at first. Mostly the texture is what throws me off. Honestly I just kept eating it and eating and now I am just so use to it that I like it more. Constant exposure to most foods can make you really like it more.
