  • I would call your Dr's office. I consume between 35-50g of fiber every day and if anything it has made me more regular and improved my weight loss. I do agree with the suggestion to increase gradually.
  • They don't need to be ground, but I now buy ground Chia in addition to normal Chia seeds. I prefer the ground chia in things like soup and yogurt, and whole chia on things like salad, sauteed vegetables, etc.

  • Fat free, plain greek yogurt, sugar free raspberry preserves, ground chia seeds. I make 5 servings (minus the chia, which i add at work) in small tupperware bowls and grab one every day on my way out the door.
  • I've started making a whole bunch of protein ahead of time for the week. For example, on Sunday I marinated then baked a whole bag of the frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Then I put them in individual tupperware containers with frozen vegetables and freeze them. This way I have a stack of meals to grab for lunch…
  • Edamame is a delicious snack - good protein/fiber combo.

  • I can really relate - when my sister was expecting her second son her first said "gee, you're FAT!" and at another point he asked if I had a baby in my belly too. I think it's just how kids are - completely honest until they know better. I just said that yes, I am, but that it's not nice to say to people.

  • Water aerobics - my gym has classes in a warm water therapy pool thst are awesome.

I've never done the all-inclusive thing, but I visit Puerto Rico twice a year and always end up losing due to the amount of swimming and snorkeling I do.   • As the fat friend/family member, I think the best thing to do is to offer your love and support, and let them know that you are there for them when they're ready to get healthy. My sister did this for years, but it wasn't until I was ready that I have started taking this seriously.
