I love my OXO food scale. When my first one crapped out after I can't remember how many years, I replaced it with the exact same one.…

Thank you @MelanieCN77! Very insightful! I appreciate you pointing me towards that post.

Great insight! The short answer...at least for me...is that it is the easiest and most socially acceptable excuse, because everybody "gets it." Total cop out for all the reasons you listed above. But here I am AGAIN getting back on track on 1/1/19 for the umpteenth time. Kudos to all of us who are owning our crap excuses…

3 days in and still on track! Woot! Even with eating out twice yesterday. There's something to be said for researching the menu before going and then not even opening the menu when you get there. No need to subject yourself to unnecessary temptations. One day at a time, one meal at a time.

I'd like to join! I've been off and on MFP for the last 5 year. Totally off this last year with a major family crisis. Unfortunately, I gained back everything I had lost (40#.) So time to buck up and start again! I don't know my measurements, will add those later. But as of this morning: SW/CW: 234 GW: 130 Weight to lose:…

Hi! I just got a FitBit about 3 weeks ago and would love to have some FitBit friends. I just got home from vacation where my eating too quite a hit but I walked 12k-15k steps everyday. So hopefully my eating like a big burly man was off set a little! Lol! Feel free to add me on MFP and FitBit. PM me if you like.

I appreciate everyone's feedback! Thanks! I'm going to go and enjoy myself and try not to get in my head too much.

Woot! Woot!

So awesome! Our bodies are designed to tell us exactly what they need and when they need it for optimal health. Good on you for listening to it!

I agree with everything everyone else has mentioned. The only thing I would add is that it sounds like there is some emotional stuff going on too since you stated that you try to love yourself but you don't. I would encourage you to connect with a counselor/therapist to get to the bottom of that.

Some people just have no tact. Answer honestly, if you feel compelled. Or since her question felt intrusive as to the state of your health, a simple "no, not sick" is all she needs to know.

That's awesome! Congrats! And happy birthday to your baby!

I have been in your shoes...more times than I care to admit. As others have said, there are going to be days you don't feel like it and you just have to do it anyway! What worked for me was I challenged myself to walk 100 miles in 30 days. And I did it! I actually walked 101 and I felt awesome and quite accomplished! I…

Great job! Keep it up! I'm getting back on track too :)

I'm 44 and started C25K 4 weeks ago. I am repeating week 3. I will do w3d3 tonight and i'm running it on the treadmill. I look forward to moving outside in the spring. I know running outside and on the treadmill are 2 different animals. But late fall/winter in the midwest can be wicked sometimes...but I digress. Sign me up!

You can't out-exercise a bad diet.

I understand where you're coming from! I started MFP in June 2012 and did really well for the first 6-8 months, losing about 36 lbs. Then when a series of illnesses sidelined me, I lost my momentum. About the time I was finally recovered, I had a detached retina in my left eye and that prevented me from working or…
