  • I started using this app seriously in mid 2017, over the next two years I lost a little over 120 pounds. Then January 2020, my husband died in front of my eyes. I went into a depression like I've never experienced before. I put back on about 80 of those pounds. Now I'm losing again, 1 pound in one week, but that's how it…

  • What a horrible thing for your SIL to say, especially when a child is in earshot. Let her go be judgy somewhere else, with adults! Your nephew is precious, and I'm glad he had the guts to say this to you because he was concerned for your well-being. I'm sorry you were hurt though. What other people think of us is none of…
  • I would like nutrition labelling to be more clear on microwave popcorn. Tell me how many calories are in the whole snack size bag of popcorn AFTER it's been popped! Who the :kitten: eats it unpopped! Same goes for other foods, and if something like rice or pasta swells after cooking, then tell me calorie info for AFTER…
  • I weighed 155 in high school at one point, in a medium size shirt, but still had a little lower tummy fat. So, I chose 130 as a goal weight. However, when I finally get down to 150, I will assess then.
  • If it doesn't contain onions, then I could eat it. I have a food sensitivity to onions, they make me very sick for days. But as far as calorie count, a Whopper has so many calories to begin with, 50 less is not enough reason for me to eat a meatless burger. I'd rather have a real meat burger, albeit the smaller portion…

  • Let's see, I tried Slim Fast shakes (starved and didn't lose any weight), but I did need my gallbladder removed thanks to stones. Richard Simmons Deal-A-Meal plan (unworkable at all for me). I did a low-fat, higher carb diet with Stop the Insanity's Susan Powter and exercised to her videos. The videos were good, and I did…
  • If your appetite doesn't return soon, in the next few weeks, consider seeing a GI doctor. You might have gastroparesis, or paralysis of the stomach. There is a test they can do that is time consuming in a day, but easy to do. You just eat an irradiated meal of eggs and toast, after fasting the night before, and they take…
  • I'm right there with you today. Birthday party on Saturday with catered party food. My family wanted to take home leftovers. Eating those, but tonight I'm also making squash and zucchini to cut down the calorie intake. Sunday was Father's Day, and we got take out grinders. Had a leftover quarter of a giant grinder for…
  • Have your doctor order a gastric emptying study to see how long it takes your stomach to empty after eating a small meal. Getting full very quickly is a symptom of gastroparesis (stomach paralysis, can be partially working, don't panic). I have this condition and it is treated starting with medication.
  • This year, I started off weighing myself on Monday. The New Year started on a Monday, and I wanted a baseline number. Also, the MFP week starts anew each Monday, so it just kind of worked out. So, Mondays before breakfast I weigh myself now.
  • [quote="newmeadow;c-40778305" Also, a dash of rouge and some modest lip color will highlight your femininity, which, by the way, is very exotic and intoxicating judging by your avatar. Why did you donate your beautiful hair while at the peak of your youthful vitality? How urgent was the cause?[/quote] Wow! I can't believe…
  • The US government considers ketchup a vegetable. What do they know about health? No to more taxes on anything, we're taxed to death already!
  • I think just try not to buy snacks beforehand, and don't keep them in the house. If you really want a snack, you'll have to go out to get it. I can relate, I crave milk chocolate, steak, and red/pink wine during my time. Also, Walmart sells 100 calorie chocolate bars in the checkout lanes for 44 cents around here. Limiting…
  • Food prices vary everywhere, and are high-cost in the state I live in. I spend way more on groceries per month. Close to $180 per week, for a family of 3 adults(this includes non-edibles like toilet paper, etc and also over-the-counter medications). We buy bags of frozen chicken breast, chubs of frozen ground hamburger,…
  • I was worried about this too. I'm planning on measuring my food like always. Turkey, 1/2 cup stuffing, 1/2 cup white mashed potatoes, a few tablespoons of gravy, 1/2 cup of other veggies, 1/4 cup of cranberry sauce, no bread, probably no butter. And I will avoid the pre-meal snacks unless it's fruit or veg. I will eat a…
  • First, let me say that I am so sorry you lost your son. Children are not meant to pre-decease their parents. It's something no parent should ever go through. I can understand you not wanting to cook or eat, but your friend is right, you do need to eat and take care of yourself. I highly recommend you talk to a professional…

  • I was thinking yesterday while window shopping with my son, that this year I won't fit into store-bought Halloween costumes, but by next year, there's a good chance I will. One more year that's not so fun at Halloween. It's frustrating. But, I know my calorie counting and exercise is working, so it's a temporary problem.

  • Another thing that helps me is to just not buy snacky type junk food. And to stock up on fruit. If you're going to eat, at least it could be a healthy food. Also, I find that working out takes my hunger away temporarily. I use Leslie Sansone DVD's to do in-home "walking" (really it's low impact simple aerobics). Her videos…
  • I like at home walking with Leslie Sansone DVD's.
  • Worst: My stomach giving me troubles all day. Best: I still managed to get my workouts in. And cuddling with the family cat. And the great hug I got from my husband tonight.
  • Brownies and chocolate peanut butter whoopie pies!
  • If you don't weigh yourself, you won't be able to accurately log your stats, and your calorie count will never decrease like it should after you've lost say 5 - 10 pounds. You might end up accidentally eating too many calories, and stall your weight loss. Your self-worth is not measured by your scale, only your…
  • What is better to use, an infuser tumbler or infuser pitcher ? And how do you calculate any calories for logging purposes ?
