  • I am so sorry you're dealing with SPD. I experienced that toward the end of my second trimester and into the third. I couldn't walk, get out of bed, or put on pants without excruciating pain. Have you tried vitamin C? Vitamin C is supposed to help strengthen the ligaments and tendons, also your amniotic sac. When you're…
  • What a sweet baby! I'm not exactly in the same boat (I had my first baby in December) but I'm looking to lose 40 more pounds. Feel free to add me!
  • The good are those who want to get you through a treatment plan in a couple of months of appointments. The bad don't set up treatment plans, but keep telling you to come in even if you don't need it.
  • I have never not left a tip, but once, I had a terrible waitress who kept my table waiting for 20+ minutes. We were all waiting for our checks so we could get back to a conference, but hadn't seen our waitress and were worried we would be late. Someone else ended up bringing our checks. I left 1 cent because I was so…
  • Cheese. 110 calories in ONE OUNCE! If I could eliminate cheese entirely from my diet, I would lose weight so much faster.
  • Push ups or any modification of a plank move. My upper body strength sucks.
  • I, like you, am already small-chested and losing weight never helps...so I have just resigned myself to wearing push up bras that make me look a little more proportional up top.
  • I loved reading this post. So many people complain about spouses (not just here, but everywhere) and it's nice to see someone who is happy in their marriage. I've been married for 3 1/2 years and we are about to have our first child. I know having children is going to be difficult for our marriage, but we are optimistic…
  • Whenever my husband and I bake and are left with the large amounts of tempting leftovers, I send them to work with him. So, I guess I am making you fat. And it doesn't bother me at all.
  • I searched youtube for prenatal workouts one day and put together this playlist. The workouts are in order by trimester and there are a lot of yoga ones towards the end. (there is also an intro to prenatal yoga video if you are new to yoga) See if you like any of them!…
  • I'm taking a hypnobirthing class right now and love it (this is my first child, so we'll see how it goes, but I am very optimistic). You don't have to get worried when you hear the word hypnosis, it's really just a self-induced state of relaxation. I would highly recommend reading the book AND taking a class. Look at this…
  • I know some people don't really watch out for artificial sweeteners, but if you DO, then research your protein powders. A lot of the good tasting and cheap ones that are low in sugar are full of acesulfame potassium, aspartame, etc.
  • If you're close to your goal weight (within 15 pounds) eat them back; but when I have more to lose, I like the extra burn and faster loss when I don't eat them back. Contrary to what a lot of people say on here, you will not die if you don't eat them back.
  • CHEESE. It still makes me sad to see how small a 100 calorie slice is. I love cheese.
  • Great suggestions here
  • People have success either way, I would suggest you be sure you've eaten something 45 minutes before working out (this is why I can't workout first thing in the morning anymore, I never had energy if I did it before breakfast). Also, if you work out at the same time every day, your body will get accustomed to it and start…
  • Same here. Not exactly "shacked up," though -- married.
  • topped with mandarin oranges, pineapple, or walnuts.
  • dude. 20 calories is 2 extra minutes of medium-high intensity exercise. But be sure you are not underestimating the rest of your foods for the day. If your 20 extra calories is actually 100, then you may have trouble taking it off as fast as you like.
  • If you're constantly "dieting" instead of making lifestyle changes, it's likely the weight will come back when you reach your goal and start eating "normal" again. It's got to be a lifestyle change (I say this without fully knowing your situation). The self-sabotage and loathing thing I get, but hopefully you can get to a…
  • I love Jillian Michaels videos. They're really intense, usually only 30 minutes, and very effective. She has a few and they're not too expensive, so I've got like 5 of them so I don't get bored. 30 Day Shred Blast Fat, Boost Metabolism Trouble Zones Ripped in 30 Extreme Shed and Shred Buns and Thighs Abs Body Revolution
  • I stopped tracking sugar for this reason. Some days, the only sugar I would eat came from dairy and fruit, but I would still go WAY over. Don't eat too much fruit, because that fructose can really pack on the pounds. Just use your best judgement by not eating too many foods with ADDED sugars.
  • I love having pregnant friends on MFP. I'm almost in my third trimester now; it's my first baby, so I'm a newbie at the whole mom thing. Feel free to add me!
  • [before getting pregnant] I was eating 1400 and was totally stuck, so I bumped up to 1600 and that was more doable. I don't usually eat back exercise calories.
  • Poptarts! In my head, eating a poptart was going to be awesome and delicious, but 400 freaking calories. When it was over, I felt like craaaaaap. So sad and disappointing.
  • You can have a higher deficit if you have more to lose. For example, if I had 50 pounds to lose, I could get away with 1000 calorie deficit (as long as I'm eating over 1200-1500 calories) and lose weight quickly. But when I get to the last 10-20 pounds, that 1000 calorie deficit is going to do more harm than good; I would…
  • What a great motivator money can be! If I wasn't pregnant, I think I would totally do this. Good luck!
  • So, what will you do when you reach your goal weight and have to go back to "eating normal"? A lot of people on strict diets gain weight back after they reach their goals because they don't know how to eat normal anymore. This journey needs to be a LIFESTYLE change towards better health, not something you do for a few…
  • Maybe it's hormones like you said? Your body will have ups and downs as you age for no apparent reason. I feel your frustration, although I am pregnant so I'm blaming those hormones for now. Hopefully things get back on track when my body is "back to normal" if I can really get there after the baby. I've found a lot of…
  • Costco sized boxes of Goldfish are always gone within a couple of week (just me snacking on them ALL DAY). I wish we never had cereal in the house, but my husband doesn't eat anything else in the morning.
