So glad I read these posts. I know fish is good for you, but I wasn't brought up on it so I never learned to like it. Hence, I have no idea how to cook it, so we just don't eat it or try it. These look really interesting, especially the ginger and lime sauce one! I bet that one doesn't taste 'fishy'!

Yes! As soon as I stopped, I put back on the pounds!!!!

I started at 60 in June and am down to 40! We can continue to do it together. MFP is great, and the support is a tremendous motivator! Feel free to add me!

I'll encourage you. So many people have helped me:)

MFP will help you a lot. It will track your food (you'll be surprised at what goes in your mouth), and you can also plan your meals around the percentages of carbs, protein, and fat. I try to focus mine around a higher protein diet. I'm 42 and am hypothyroid, so I hear you! I had 60 lbs to lose (now only 40 thanks to MFP…

Oh my gosh.....I have to post this! I just read this from Dr. Oz, "While all exercise is good for you, SEX may help control the amount of food you eat because sex and hunger are regulated through the brain chemical NPY. Healthy sex could help control your food intake, because when you satisfy one type of appetite, it…

This is great, thanks for posting!

If you can, eat a salad or fill up on veggies before hand so you're 'full' and won't eat so much:) And just make up for it later during the week:) You have to treat yourself sometime!

I'm going to try this one, thanks so much! I made one that someone recommended the other day and it came out great: 1 cup of egg whites 1-2 scoops of protein powder 1-2 cups of canned yams 2 tsp vanilla (optional - a few sweetener packets) Fry up....delicious, and healthy. No flour. Makes 4 LARGE, and approx 20 g protein…

Tried it over and over and have tried to like it, but have NEVER had it good! Hate it!!! Ugh!
-
Oh my gosh, that would be terrible. What does it say about O positive????

Ryanlove is correct. Protein is essential for the body to build and repair muscle and is the only macro nutrient that actually USES ENERGY (i.e. burns calories) to digest. Carbs and fats do not have that effect to the same extent. Excess carbs are converted to fat if not burned. This is why high carb diets do not often…

Red wine is actually good for you! I agree with LizLane. You just need to use portion control. A glass is typically 4-5 oz. Just work it into your calories, and just have one! For most people, it is part of a routine you have for yourself that helps you unwind. Without it, you may have to replace it with a bath or…

"3 egg white, half scoop of vanilla protein powder and some sweet potato. I blend all of mine in the morning and put it in the refrigerator. It's super easy to throw on the skillet and top with cinnamon for a huge protein pancake. You can also add a few oats instead of the sweet potato" That sounds awesome, I'm going to…

Usually a protein bar, cheese sticks, a protein shake, veggies in packets to go like carrots with ranch or celery with individual portions of peanut to go to dip them in, bagged salads with lunch meat, yogurt, cottage cheese, V8's, and fresh fruit. Sometimes even the canned fruit or the fruit applesauce squeezers meant for…

I'm a teacher....do a lot of running around, walking and on my feet. I'm thinking of getting a pedometer but not sure how that would factor in as number of steps or something?

Am a 3 generation military brat from Army and Air Force. Hubby was in Army. Definitely go Air Force is possible. I believe they treat families the best. I would choose Navy 2nd! Take a former military person with you to the recruiters office before signing any papers! They LOVE to lie:)
