Right?? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

All this is good to read. I've been following someone who is a "diet culture rebel". They say to never weigh yourself, avoid all people focussed on weight loss, eat everything (when you're hungry), etc. But I know my body is not happy at this weight. I've been on WW, and they level I was at was approx. 1200 calories - way…

Yes! Probably about 8 pounds as well. I've hurt my leg/knee so can't get as much exercise as I like either. Stupid Covid.
-
5' 2" - it appears I'm older than some/mosts of you girls - mid 50's. I have foods that I cannot eat - dairy, gluten, grains, and soy - so it makes things a bit tricky. I'd like to lose at least 10, preferably 15-20. It's tough going.....
-
I was so happy yesterday - weighed in and I was down 1.5 pounds. Today - up a pound. The human body is a strange thing. I can only hope that over time the trend will be downward. And yes, I eat a bit of chocolate every day, but I count it in. :)

Thanks! I am a post menopausal woman as well, AnnPT77, so loss is not easy. Combine that with stress COVID eating.....yeah. I'll keep soldiering on.

Because there are no steps showing on MFP, and I definitely have step today. EDIT: I think I got it. We'll see!
-
I tried, but I don't think I did it right..... :)
-
Me! 5' 2" - want to lose 15-20 pounds. Age (56) is working against me! :)

I don't need the HR monitor. If it's on there, fine, but it's not essential.

I had an abdominal ultrasound for suspected appendix issues, and it showed up there. I had no idea before that.
-
Haleycz496 - I tried to send you a message, but it didn't go through. I'll have to try again later.
-
thanks! I may just do that. :)

I don't eat corn at all. Some rice, but not excessive amounts. My naturopath wants my carbs under 150g a day, and I find that easy to do.
-
I think I have everything but the excess abdominal fat - obviously I need to lose weight, since I'm here, but I'm not apple shaped. However, I am only on minimal medication for high blood pressure - no medication for anything else, so I guess none of them are at a point where they need medical intervention.

Thanks. I do not have diabetes, or even pre-diabetes at this point. No one has mentioned any drugs thus far. I eat quite healthy, as I cannot eat dairy, soy, gluten, nuts, eggs.....although I have a little bit of allergen free chocolate each day. I have been struggling to lose the same 20 pounds for years, and just can't…

Thanks for all the comments! MFP is free, so that's a big drawing card, for sure. But WW has in person back-up, which is sometimes a really big encouragement. I will ponder all of this.
-
Thanks. :) I am trying to work on lowering blood pressure and cholesterol naturally right now. I'm definitely tracking foods and calories.
-
I'm not diabetic, but just recently had to go on half a water pill a day for blood pressure, and am supposed to "work on cholesterol through diet." Carbs aren't a huge issue because I am gluten intolerant. Well, gluten/dairy/soy/nut/egg intolerant.....but that's another issue.

Minus the, um, salty language :), you sound just like me. 51 years old, been trying to lose forever, and weight just keeps creeping up. Workout 3 times a week, walk the dog daily, and have a little sugar addiction. Can't eat gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, and eggs, so that keeps me away from a lot of bad foods. I want to lose…

That's funny! I think I will not close out my day anymore. :) Too discouraging.
-
Thanks. So true. I'll just keep plugging away.
-
Oh, how I love chocolate. I was just going to post something like this. :) I'm not having any success at losing weight yet, but I will keep plugging away. I have a dairy sensitivity, so I can't have just any chocolate, but I've found some I can eat, and eat it I do.
-
Thanks everybody! I had been told by someone to keep my carbs and proteins almost even, and the fats way down. I do feel fuller if I make sure and eat enough protein. I'm going to read the thread linked here and see what it says.
-
Food scale it is then. :) I've been depending too much on what people post as caloric counts and measures, I think. I'll go out shopping soon.
-
A lot of those blank days were after surgery....hard to have decent brain comprehension then. :)
-
Thank you everyone. I haven't really been exercising, because I had foot surgery 7 weeks ago, and it is just now at the point where I can even do a brisk walk again. I don't weigh my food, no. I have a lot of food allergies as well - not that it makes a difference as far as weight loss goes, but if I open my diary, it will…
-
I have lost 7 pounds since January, most of that in the last six weeks or so. I have not lost anything in 2 weeks, and in fact gained a little.
-
Part of the food combining "thing" I'm supposed to follow is that breakfast can only be fruit, veg. juice, or broth. So...there's no way to get protein in there.
-
I see my naturopath on a regular basis. We are working hard to figure this out. I'll see if I can figure out how to open my food diary. :) Also, I drink between 8 and 9 glasses of water a day.
