Nope, no contacts. The photographer was getting glare from the glasses, so I just took them off. Contacts are a thought, though!

Please add me as a friend. We have about the same highest weight. I've lost 63 pounds so far, but need to lose about 100 more (I'm 5'4", so shorter than you).

One word: MUFFINS! You can make great muffins with many vegetables: carrots, zucchini, broccoli, corn, spinach, onions, peppers, etc. Check online for amazing veggie muffins recipes (one of my favorites is a Western Omelette muffin). Even if you don't want to do an all-out veggie muffin, you can puree raw veggies and…

Instead of chips, try Harvest Snaps -- the assorted types are made from either lentils, green pea crisps, snap peas, black beans, etc. Eat just like chips, but packed with protein and fiber. Baked (not fried). Compared to chips, much less fat and GLUTEN FREE. Plus, if you hide the packages, nobody will know it's not junk…

I love my CPAP machine. I haven't even thought about getting rid of it. Not only do I sleep FABULOUS now, my sinus problems have cleared up!

Why just two choices? I'm not sure what you mean by "manual" scale - do you mean a spring scale or a balance scale? I have a balance scale (like you see in the doctor's office) and a digital scale that I never use. The digital always gave me a different weight depending on where I stood. I only use the balance scale, which…

I recommend GARMIN products. Water-resistant and, the big plus for me, they run on a watch battery, so you don't have to constantly remember to charge the thing --- just replace the battery once a year. I really LOVE my Garmin.

Amen to that. My parents retirement community had a nutritionist who was so anti-meat. She gave many lectures there about how bad meat is for you. She was very convincing -- convinced my 88-year-old ill father that he had to give up meat. But he didn't replace it with any other protein sources. Nothing we could say would…

I'm in the same situation. THANK YOU everyone who gave the original poster encouragement, it gave me encouragement as well. I didn't just fall off the wagon for the holidays, I made a giant leap off. I didn't weigh myself for a month or do any logging and I stopped much of my walking program. I had lost 44 pounds prior to…

Ebay your old clothes, and buy new ones on eBay. Lots of NWT (new with tags) items. Good temporary fillers for your wardrobe until you reach your goal.

I'm only 170 days, but would love to be inspired by you! I'm supportive.

Please add me as a friend. I've lost 38 pounds so far, but have over 100 more to lose. Let's support each other!

I do eBay. They sell lots of stuff NWT (that's "new with tags") inexpensively, as well as nice used items. Also, use eBay to sell your stuff that's too big. I've started doing that now. So, you can turn your old clothes into cash which is used to buy newer clothes, which you can then sell later on.

No one can force you to eat. But by giving in, you are actually conditioning them to continue the behavior. When you give in, you are rewarding them for their offering you food. By giving in, they could interpret it as you being grateful they made the effort to offer you food. Only you can signal to them that you are…

Personally, I like my Vivofit (sorry, it's the 1 not the 2) because it runs on a watch battery. That means I don't have to charge it every day or so -- I only have to replace the battery once a year. For me, that was the major selling point. Also, I can wear it in the shower and the pool while I swim.

Alas, my Garmin Vivosmart is not syncing with Myfitnesspall. Started June 22 and hasn't synced since.

What app? My Garmin connect stopped syncing with Myfitnesspal two days ago.

I find canned soup is good for variety, too. Campbell's has a line of Home Style soups that make a good lunch. Plus they even have an organic line (not for me, but you might like it), and a Healthy Request line, which just basically means its lower in sodium. I vary between the soup, frozen meals, and meals I make from…

At my gym I got a personal trainer who I really liked. After a few sessions, I signed up for a half-year, paid in advance. He was a real young kid, but understood how to work with older clients, like myself. Then, the trainer quit to go to another gym. I never found another trainer who I worked well with. The next trainer…

Yes! The cruise ended in Paducah where we watched the fireworks on July 4. It was lovely! Also went to the quilt museum there. Originally the boat wasn't supposed to go to Paducah, but to St. Louis. However, the river was so flooded they couldn't make it under the bridges to St. Louis, so we took this alternate trip. Loved…

Sprinkle some dark cocoa over a couple tablespoons of whipped cream. Yum, yum! Not many calories and it satiates the chocolate craving.

You're not logging anything. There's not a single day in the last two weeks where you logged a complete day, and most were completely blank. You say you pre-log your food, but where? As for the weekends. Try not drinking any alcohol for a few weeks. Besides saving you calories that you can instead use on chocolate, it also…

I have textured tiles in my house, and I've never found a digital scale that will work accurately. I've had much better luck with analog scales. Actually, I'm using my grandmother's old cast-iron scale from the 1930s. Sometimes the old stuff works much better than the new --- and I never have to replace a battery :)

Growing up, my Dad made the best sandwiches; crisp bacon, between two pieces of wheat toast slathered with chunky peanut butter. Pure heaven! (Sometimes he'd add lettuce, which helped hold the sandwich together!) This from the man who also invented peanut butter/cream of broccoli soup!

If you're working, walking to and from the train, and going to classes at night, then you're not by any means sedentary. Why don't you get a pedometer and wear it for a few days to get an accurate idea of your activity level. Sedentary = <5000 step Lightly Active = 5000-7499 steps Somewhat Active = 7500-9999 step Active =…
