If you're under the care of a doctor, just follow their advice and dont ask vague questions from the lay people.

How can you not really calculate home made food? Homemade food is what I make and imo it's the easiest to calculate. Weigh the ingredients, build the recipe on MFP and divide by number of servings. Easy peasy.

If you eat less carbs, you should offset that with more fat and protein.

And just had a look at your diary. There's no reason for you to be eating that little and be full. You should probably visit your GP and eventually a dietician to rule out health problems and learn about what and how you should eat. No way 600 calories is filling you up for the day.

Your body needs a certain amount of calories just for its basic function, without movement. For most people, its more than 1200 calories. If you eat less but arent hungry, try eating more calorie dense foods, like good fats (avocado, pb, etc).

Inches. My whole post-puberty life, I've weighed a lot more than my measurements belied. Even at 275lbs, nobody thought I weighed that much. What does the scale matter if I am happy with my size?
-
I noticed! Its freezing cold and wet and all I want to do is to eat. I just try to be more active (good for a bit of vitamin D and helps to counteract SAD).
-
I eat a treat whenever I feel like it. I just make sure I have the calories for it.

If you ate 1400+2800 in one day, yes you would have 0 deficit for that week. So it would be like maintaining.
-
Ask them how you can help and only do that. If they dont want to change, the only other thing you can do is set a good example and ask them if they want to work out with you when you go (and take no for an answer).

If you measured out the meat raw, use the uncooked calorie count. If you're measuring it out cooked, use the cooked calories. The only problem with that is the database might not take your method into consideration added oils, fats skimmed off, water added, spices with calories, etc.

Everything that has 'per 100g' on the label, I weigh. If its 'per 100mL', I measure. All fresh fruits and vegetables are measured in grams, because what is a 'medium' apple really? I dont weigh eggs. I dont weigh if I am not eating at home, though. I try finding the calories in a database or on the restaurant website, but…

I log my meals as I'm eating breakfast (I plan a week in advance so its easy) and log my snacks when I'm thinking of eating one.

I dont eat the same calories every day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But if I eat out, I dont worry about calories, I just eat until I'm done. I usually end up eating to maintenance calories on those days.
-
We eat the same thing at dinner, but I eat less of it. Otherwise, he eats what he likes, and lots of it (lucky tall, fast-motabolism'd *kitten*)
-
I plan my week of dinners. I eat the same thing every day for breakfast and eat either leftovers or sandwiches for lunch. I plan the dinner I will make, in the morning, so I know how much extra I have for snacks. If we eat out, I dont plan for it, and I write that day off.

Dude....you've been married for 7 years and you said all that? Start with a heart to heart. Beg her (yes, now you have to beg since you f'd up the first try) to help you out with your calorie goals by using 'lighter' substitutes, by giving you less on your plate, or even just by letting you know whats in the food so you…

Underestimating calories eaten: do you weigh or eyeball/measure? Overestimating calories burned: do you wear a heart rate monitor. Why are you eating less than 1200 calories AND exercising? How much do you weigh. What is your height? What is your goal weight, and what rate did you set it at? What is your activity level set…

He ordered this but didnt order a dietician to help you accomplish it?

I hadnt eaten breakfast or lunch for 15 years. When I started eating again, with MFP, I started making it a habit. If I waited until I felt hungry to eat, I'd go days without food (last time it happened, I didnt eat for three days :/. Only THEN did I feel hungry)

Are you constipated? I didnt poo for almost a month once and my belly was HUGE. Finally pooped and voila, I was normal again.

Meditate.

I'm sure that eating clean can in some instances not be the be all, end all in health, but for most of us who are doing it, its about whole body health--by avoiding food with added hormones, pesticides, chemical flavours and colours. Plus we believe that food is our medicine, instead of relying on artificial drugs that…

5 lbs could easily be water retention, especially if you're at the end of your cycle. Dont worry about it.

Midsize microwave! Well that feels better.

The neck stretch exercise mentioned above is excellent. I recommend it too.

Feeding a cold doesnt mean eating more calories, just that certain nutrients in food are beneficial for helping you get over a cold quicker, and preventing you from getting (as) sick the next time a bug comes your way. Hence why disease is worse (more common and stronger symptoms with complications) in places where people…

Be careful with back stretches if you've injured your back. I have a problem back that started with a small injury (twisted while standing and holding something heavy). Basically you want to rest for now. Try to lay on your back, back straight, knees elevated. Take care when moving. Use alternating heat and ice on your…

MFP only warns that you're not eating enough if you eat less than 1200 calories. Not net. Eaten. So you're not eating 1200-1400 calories and getting that message.
