What works well for me is cutting out "bready" carbs like pasta, rice, breads, snacky foods like chips, pretzels. I focus on eatting more protein like lean meat; ground turkey, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, turkey lunch meat, etc., light string cheese, eggs, light yogurt, and nuts. I have done a similar thing. Ive cut out "bready carbs" because they are extremely processed. Its really difficult.. because I love them but it has had made my weight loss a lot easier. Once in a while I'll eat them on a hard workout day!

Its not really a recipe but a lot of times in the morning I make a "smoothie" with 1 cup fat free skim milk, one banana, and one packet of Chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast.
