  • Bump...and thanks!
  • If you like ranch dressing, this is a great recipe. Makes the chicken really tender, which helps with texture. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/rosemary-ranch-chicken-kabobs/ i dont usually do as kabobs, but bake it in the sauce at 350 for 20 min.
  • dward is correct. Shelly's website is a fantastic find! I read through her entire blog before I had my procedure and it was fantastic! I learned so much from her mistakes and successes.
  • Thanks for the heads up! I too, ordered 3 boxes. I got chocolate chip cookie dough, white chocolate raspberry, and coconut cashew. The first two are my favorites, and I really had a hard time deciding between apple pie, cinnamon roll, and the coconut cashew, but the hubby said I could only order 3. I hope you enjoy your…
  • I'm in again! Didn't quite make my goal last time so here'e my new plan: CW: 198 GW: 185 We shall see! Good luck everyone!
  • You will be fine with planning. A blender, or even a blender ball for when you are on the go are must haves. Also, be sure to sleep whenever you get the chance. You will need the rest as your body heals. If you are on the move due to scheduling, get a insulated lunchbox with a cold pack, make up several protein shakes and…
  • I had to start seeing an eating counselor, but since I was already doing that, it wasn't new to me. I highly recommend that support starts prior to surgery since getting your head in the right place is part of the process. Pre-surgery support groups are also a good option.
  • I absolutely did that, and it did take a few months for me to feel normal again. At almost a year out, I still have the occasional tired spell after eating, but mainly when i do not eat enough protein.
  • Here's my progress for this challenge so far: SW: 204 CW: 200 GW: 195 I had a good stall going for quite some time, but now I seem to be losing again. I think I might actually be able to hit this goal! We have 3 weeks left!!!
  • I am with Ann here. I could not have done meals and snacks and water all at the same time. As it was I kept a timer up to remind myself when to drink before and after meals, so I didn't get sick. You are correct in that we are all different, so do what works for you. If I remember correctly, I changed my MFP food diary…
  • When I hit this same wall, my husband reminded me that my body was still in shock from the 25 pounds it lost so quickly. He also reminded me that I was still recovering from surgery. With that in perspective, I kept to the plan, and the weight did continue to come off. I know it is disappointing, but keep with it and you…
  • My advice? Chew, Chew, Chew!!! That is the biggest thing I remember about my transition to solid foods. You will get fuller faster, and you will love the addition of new foods. But as someone else pointed out, it is important to try one new thing each day to see how you do with it. For example, I found that I can do…
  • The are both coffee type protein powders. Most people use them in place of coffee to still have that coffee flavor, but with the bonus of protein. I have been using my Nectar vanilla torte protein powder in my coffee, but thought it might be nice to actually have a type that was made to be a coffee.
  • I was also advised to strain the soup and then it was allowed on my plan. Good luck!
  • Ann, Great job! You have been working so hard, and are so positive on these boards. Good for you! As for me, still stuck, stuck, stuck! But I am keeping to my water and exercise, and hope that I reach the first part of my goal by the 18th and the rest by the time this challenge ends.
  • I have been stuck in one of those not-so-fun plateaus! I am stuck in the 202-205 range and I just want to lose those last few pounds so I am under 200 for the first time in 18 years! Sigh! This week my goal is to drink more water and see if that helps. We shall see!
  • At that point, I was eating roughly 600 calories, but I wasn't focusing on that. My NUT also said to make the protein a priority. I aimed for 60 -80 gm per day of protein, and the rest just came. Now, at almost a year out, I eat between 1000 - 1200 daily and it work for me. Protein is still my friend. Try not to focus to…
  • That is just fantastic! Go you!
  • I remember being excited by mine as well! It is nice to see the results of the hard work! Keep us posted with the updates!
  • Okay, I haven't done one of these is a while, so I will go for it with you! I'd really like to lose and get A) under 200 and B) closer to my personal goal of 175. So... CW: 204 GW: 190 Now to get it done!
  • So glad you are home and recovering! Take it easy and let yourself heal! I am excited to hear the results, but take it easy okay!
  • Protein is key for me. My snacks consist of the following items: Hard boiled eggs Beef Jerky Cheese Sticks Handful of nuts Protein Shake Greek Yogurt (Fage Total 0% in my case) Hummus and Veggies Edamame (freezer section in individual portions. I cook it, then salt it, then eat it cold) Roll-ups (low calorie lunch meat, I…
  • So excited for you! I will be thinking of you as you go into surgery and hoping for the very best. Here's to a quick recovery!
  • I love my Spanx and other Spanx like products. They do take some getting used to, but I find that even wearing them for 8 hours, they do the job. After a bit, I don't even notice I am wearing them. I have several kinds, including the ones that go down the legs to the knee and up to under the bra line, the ones that are…
  • I went with Syntrax Nectar Protein Powder based on the taste and the fact that for 100 calories I got 24 gm of protein. It runs about $35 per container, but I also wanted something that I could use long term and not hate drinking due to the taste and grittiness. It's a beautiful protein powder. That being said, Annwyatt69…
  • I found and used the generic liquid Tylenol from CVS. My doctor said it was fine. I was sent home with liquid painkillers, and didn't need them past the first day. Good luck!!!
  • Ah, I remember the stir crazy days of liquids, which I also had to do for two week with my program. It will get a little better once you get to pureed foods. Good luck!
  • Lolabug85, I feel your pain! I am 205 and really want that 199, but alas, it seems like it is taking FOREVER!!! God luck to both of us!
  • So I got my license today, since my birthday's tomorrow and my old one will expire, and I went with the 165!! I am so close to the 200 pound mark, and my doctors say if I keep doing what I am doing, I will no doubt be at 165 if not under that in no time. In other news, the lady at the DMV could not believe the difference…
  • My favorite? http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ Shelly has some great recipes, and tons of helpful hints. I get my protein in by eating Greek yogurt almost daily along with ham and cheese rollups or shrimp with a yogurt/cocktail sauce combo dip. I typically get 70-80 grams in per day. At you stage, I also did…
