Has anyone tried Click and Chike Protein powder?
I have tried Chike, and like it for the most part, but had heard good things about Click as well. Has anyone tried both and can give me a rundown? Trying to decide which will be in my next order.

To Lie, or Not to Lie..That is the question
Okay, so it is sort of funny, but I really wanted to hear what you all think. My birthday is two weeks away. I need to get a new driver's license. I am close,to being under 200 and I REALLY want to put that I weigh under 200 on my driver's license since it is valid for the next five years. Now, I know that people lie about…

Nine Month Update
So I met with my surgeon and NUT the other day and they are thrilled with my progress. I have 9 more pounds to go before I am deemed a "success" by medical standards, and I have three months to hit that goal. I told them that in my book, I was already a success. Here is a tiny list of what I can do post-op that I never…

Hair Loss, Texture Help
So as many of you know, and have experienced on your own, I am at the hair loss stage of my RNY surgery. While I am not losing a ton yet, I am noticeably shedding more than I did pre-op. I do take my vitamins religiously, and get my protein in daily, but I am noticing that the texture of my hair seems to be affected as…

6 month update
So I just met with my nut, and my surgeon and they are thrilled with my progress! I am down 97 pounds total, have gone from a BMI of 52 to a BMI of 39, not longer have diabetes, have great cholesterol, LDL, and HDL results, plus my iron, vitamin D and b12 are all in the normal range given the supplements I am taking! Woot!…

BodyMedia...Does it work for us?
Hey guys, I have a fitbit right now and like it, but don't love it. I am considering switching to a BodyMedia armband, but am wondering about whether or not I can configure it for RNY calorie goals. I know that I don't eat as much as they would suggest given my exercise, but there is no way that I could consume tons of…

NSV Walk
So as many of you know, I am a teacher. Every year, my school does a walk/race for the students sometime in May/June. The students can choose to run or walk a short one mile or the longer 5K course. I have NEVER, not in the five years I have been a teacher here participated in either event, but instead have chosen to stay…

Depressed = Not Ever Doing That Again
So I had some disappointing news today, (I was NOT accepted into a doctoral program despite my stellar recommendations and a 4.0 in my post-Master's degree. I was stunned, my classmates were stunned, I went into a mini-breakdown, but am good now) and my typical response is to eat. Since I had my RNY surgery 12/11/12, I…

Challenge: Build Your Own Goal
Okay everyone, so many of you have heard me say that i love a good challenge to keep me focused on the boards. Instead of putting in a specific time fame for everyone, I though I'd set up a place where anyone who wants to can build their own goal. For me, I have my 6 month post-op appointment on June 21st. I would LOVE to…

OMG! I cried! NSV!
Today a friend invited my husband and I for coffee. I had tea. This friend (who is a size 2) has not seen me since just after my surgery three months ago. I just got a new haircut as well, so when she saw me, the overall effect was pretty startling. It was great to see her and her enthusiastic response to my new body would…

Not quite in the dress I wanted, but...
So for those of you who remember, I was hoping to be in a size 16 dress that I purchased as a goal dress, by this time so I could wear it on my cruise next week. Sadly, it doesn't quite fit, almost, but not quite. However, DH and I were shopping last night and I came across a black, halter dress with a keyhole cutout…

I'm hoping to...
Tomorrow is my six week post-op appointment with the surgeon. I am hoping that they will tell me that I can do more than walk for exercise (I'd really like to start my yoga again and do the elliptical). I am also really wanting to begin weight training again since I am in a wedding in 8 months and I want my arms and back…

Help! I need bridesmaid dress size help!
Ladies who have lost, I am 2 weeks post surgery (bypass) and down 20 pounds. I am in a wedding in September (8 months post-op), and have no idea what size I will be by then. Originally I though about a 16, but after reading several posts and blogs, I'm thinking it could be smaller. Any thought or suggestions for me? I'm…

2 Week Update
So I know that everyone is different when it comes to weight loss, but I have to say I got the BEST Christmas present today! I had my first post surgery appointment. I had decided when I went in for my surgery NOT to weigh at home during the first two weeks, because I know it really wavers. My secret hope was that I would…

Post Surgery Everything is....
too sweet! I cannot believe it! Not that I had a huge sweet tooth or anything, but I never minded sweets before, and now, even the sugar free stuff is just to much! Thank goodness I can have cream based soups, strained of course. I would not be able to tolerate this phase 2 diet without it! Oh, and for those of you in…

Just Had Surgery
Hey everyone! Just had my bypass surgery on Tuesday and thought I'd drop in and give an update. My surgery was textbook and I am already home. I spent 2 nights in the hospital, and was up and walking the very first night. I have had some problems with gas (belching and gas) but that was to be expected considering the CO2…

December Surgery dates
So I know that there are at least three of us on these boards that have surgeries scheduled in December. I want to say that they are on three consecutive days as well. Anyone else having surgery in December or late November for that matter? It would be fun to keep each other posted on progress and help with encouragement.…

Last Pre-Surgery Appt.
I met with the surgeon today for my last weigh-in before my surgery! I am so excited! I'm doing great on the 2 week diet, and hope to lose another 5 pounds or so before the surgery. I have less than 2 weeks to go at this point. I started the process in May so it's been 8 months from start to surgery and lots of hoops. So…

Broth Suggestions - For Flavor
Does anyone have suggestions on broth brands/flavors that they liked for there and post op diet? I have no preference if it's veggie, chicken or beef since I just want something that has a good flavor that hopefully will not upset my stomach. I hate to buy something that lacks flavor even though I will be limited in what I…

"Dream" Dress - Stage 1
So, I am starting my liquid diet this week in preparation for surgery on December 11th. I know it seems like awful timing, but we did Thanksgiving over the weekend so it would not be an issue this week. Anyway, while I was out shopping this weekend, I came across a beautiful dress that is a size I haven't seen since my…

Sore Throats and Home Remedies
Any good ideas out there? I seem to constantly have a sore throat this time of year due to allergies and whatever else. I do take allergy medicine, but it does very little. I've tried salt water gargling, hot lemon and honey tea, and saline nasal spray to keep the sinus passages open. Any other thoughts?
