Try figuring your daily metabolic rate using a calculator online, thats how I set my net calorie goal? But sitting = sedentary so I would not count that unless you are always running errands at work!

I think cardio is a must to burn away fat. I try to do my cardio in the morning before I eat breakfast - remember to drink a LOT of water too! Coconut oil actually has the 'good fat' and a lot of doctors, mine included, are staying to stay away from olive oil because it turns into a bad fat when cooked. Haven't done research myself, but I know all the other fruits/berries/nuts are good to go! May not be cause you to lose fat immediately but I'm sure they help…

I still haven't figured out exactly what lightly active in comparison to other categories is - I work out probably once a day for at least 10 minutes and do 45 minutes of cardio every other day, how would that be described? I upped the calorie goal and am going to try weighing in every friday morning…

Try swimming! Sure, your legs will still be strong but swimming long distance will give you plenty of lean leg muscle. I swam for an hour five times a week for a few months and the results were great!

I would say you have to allow yourself a tiny portion of your favorite treat. Mine is dark chocolate, and by having one square every day I think I've been able to stop my crazy dessert binges. Honestly, don't lie to family. They're just trying to watch out for you. But really, if you are eating healthy and exercising its a lifestyle change NOT a diet. Stay positive, and if you're as close with your mom as I am you can even show her what you've been doing with the app;)
