  • No problems at all with soy sauce and its many, many uses. How the heck else are you supposed to try and replicate Asian cooking? As Angle2822 said, just make sure to consume enough water to balance out the sodium intake. It'll be fine. :)

  • These sound pretty dang good. I may make these later. Someone asked about nutrition facts and I plugged it into the MFP recipe calculator. Per cookie: 120 calories, 12 carbs, 6g of fat, 4g of protein.
  • I agree, this would work well with sweet potatoes (yams) too. In my neck of the woods they're always so HUGE though... so I could probably make this whole recipe with just one sweet potato. Meanwhile, the white potatoes are $3 for 10 pounds and I'm balling on a budget out here. ;)
  • I really don't know how to calculate your needs, but I don't believe there is anything as too much protein. Use the number from MFP as a minimum if you're trying to add muscle (lean body mass) and get as much as you can.
  • I also felt like I didn't have time to cook all the time, but it's surprisingly simple once you get things under control and get a system worked out. It helps to have a few quick, go-to recipes that can be whipped up in no time with minimal prep. Regardless, I still stock a few boxes of Lean Pockets in my freezer for those…
  • I've heard/read similar things. I definitely don't go by this... it just doesn't work for me. For me, the way for me to stick with it is all things in moderation. So, having said that, you typically won't catch me eating pasta for dinner, but it's not entirely outta the question. Moderation is key.
  • Sounds delicious, but the title could use a little inspiration... ;) :P
  • Add me if you're so inclined, everyone... http://pinterest.com/ADubYou Same as here. :P
  • Well, I've always thought it was a regional thing... but 'round these parts there's a difference between a sub and a grinder. A sub is just your typical long/big sandwich. But a grinder is that same sub usually toasted or run through the oven. That's my take on it.
  • I saw this and immediately thought of a million different things... So I decided I needed to limit myself not to a food, but a specific item. An ingredient in many delicious things... and that ingredient is... CHEESE.
  • I think cottage cheese is pretty damn tasty already... but I've been known to add Sriacha sauce to it. Or any other hot sauce... I also like Tapatio.
  • I don't know about weight loss, but I know it drastically helps improve my food. It's like getting sunlight without actually getting sun... although I don't know why you'd want to do that. Haha.
  • When I lost a TON of weight the first time around, before my injury that "helped" me chunk back up, the elliptical was almost all I did for cardio. Using the interval setting on my gym's machines, 60 minutes a day, helped me drop 150+ lbs. in approximately a year and a half - so I'd say that's pretty good testimony for the…
  • I'm bumping this sucker. I can't believe only one other person has anything to add... where are you guys? On your weekends already?
  • How does Red Robin not get any criticism in this post? Haha, it's about CHOICES... if you choose to eat unlimited fries that's your problem, not Bob Evans's.
  • Haha, I've just noticed this feature myself. I found it quite amusing... I guess it's something to reach for. Although, each day I've been doing it, it's about 10 pounds LESS each consecutive day. Weird, right?
  • Having been through this weight loss thing once, and doing it again, I never used a scale. My trick is to overestimate basically everything rather than be 100% accurate. If I only ate 3/4 of that sandwich, well, screw it... I say I ate the whole thing. It basically boils down to whatever works best for you. Get the scale…
  • This is something I've been known to struggle with from time to time too, and I wish I had an easy solution for you. I try to avoid my triggers at all costs. When I'm faced with them, I keep thinking in my head about how I have a choice and I can choose to have this crap food and feel temporarily good or keep going on the…
  • Whitesnake... damn. I thought I might have been wrong, but I try not to "cheat" (i.e. Google) and just went for it. Consider me schooled. Thanks for the encouragement so far, everyone! I truly appreciate it.
  • A long, long time ago (I can still remember...), I started on the single most difficult task I thought I'd ever face. I was 420 lbs. and I wanted to be healthy. A year and a half later, I weighed 155 lbs. No surgery, just diet and exercise. Blood, sweat, and tears (not to be confused with Blood, Sweat and Tears). If I can…
