I have had clinical depression for ten years, and whilst exercise isn't the complete cure, I have found half an hour a day, plus healthy eating absolutely amazing for my mood! I was instructed to do so by both my doctor and therapist, however medication & therapy are also a big part of keeping my depression under-wraps. I…

I log everything longer than ten minutes which gets me into a sweat, as it's something outside my comfort zone! So as I'm quite unfit and overweight this does include cleaning, walking to the shops etc, but as I become healthier and it's not a big effort, I won't. I make sure to get in lots of "intentional exercise" too…

I've cut down my excessive drinking from 2/3 times a week to once every 1-2 months I actually eat salad now! Usually at least once a day Takeaway is now a rare treat, and I opt for the "healthiest" option aha Cut out a lot of my fizzy drinks - and in turn drink a lot more water Swapped 90% of white bread for wholemeal And…

I'm in my 200s and do walking, badminton, my fitness coach on the wii, and soon swimming as well. Don't let it hold you back!

I'm on 1200 a day, and eat back around 50-75% of my exercise calories usually. Although right now I'm leaving them alone as much as possible, due to having friends to stay the rest of the week and know I'll be eating a little extra then!

Rum/Vodka & Orange or Jack Daniel's & Diet Coke if I'm just having a few drinks, if it's a big night out then I stick to Vodka & Diet Coke. Tbh though I drink veryyy rarely now, it's half the reason I became the weight I am! Would use to down jagerbombs, high calorie shots, and full fat coke with mixers.. so that's -not-…

Also interested to see what health/fitness magazines other people read as I'm a big lover of them.

Thanks everyone! I think I was definitely over-reacting a little, and after reading the posts, and hearing some advice from friends have decided to make a few small changes this week that will helpfully move my weight loss along a little - am going to give less salt & more water a real go, and have ordered some kitchen…

I think it's definitely more in the head than anything! Even when I was 145lbs (am now 231!) I hated pictures of myself and thought I looked extremely fat.. I had shockingly low self-esteem though, I look back now and think "what on earth were you on about?!" Also you're on a journey, it's not going to be immediate, and I…

This is so awesome! There's nothing better than someone that doesn't have a clue what you're doing commenting in a positive way about how you've changed :D I'm visiting some friends in September that I last saw in May, and reaaally hoping my weight loss might be showing by then, would be a huge NSV (as yours is!!)

Deffo an elliptical! I used to use my old neighbours' one loads, they're so fun! Not sure I'd have any room for it in my one bed flat though lol.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, because there are four pages of replies.. but I highly suggest a big YES! Reason; the brain expects sugar when you feed it the kind of intense sweetener found in diet coke, leaving you MORE HUNGRY! Especially for the crappy food! Swap it for water :) Source; Science…

Once a week, first thing in the morning after using the toilet, and always wearing the same thing. I do occasionally "sneak a peek" in the week but I don't count it till weigh day, and then make it "official" :)

I suffer from extreme anxiety and am overcoming depression at the moment, feel free to add me it'd be great to have some similar friends on here!

Hey that's great news you have beat the cancer, my mum is also a breast cancer survivor! As far as exercise I don't know enough to help, but if you want support I'm here, and this'll bump up the thread anyway ^_^

Me! I started a week ago at 234lbs, now 232.. and want to get to 135! What's your current weight and goal?
-
Completed in five sets of 20! :)

I always make sure to eat breakfast, I can't get through the day without it! Today I had 2 small pieces of mutligrain bread with light spread, a poached egg and cuppa tea.

I'm in! Love this challenge!

I've had a similar problem the last two days, sometimes my tummy is rumbling literally an hour after a meal, seems worse in the late afternoon and evening! Have been having white bread instead of multigrain though a couple of times so gonna switch back and hope the added "goodness" will sort me out!
-
Make your own sandwiches and pasta in advance then take along in a cooler box? :)

Awesome, I may try that one soon then, I downloaded one called CardioTrainer and it seems to have done the job.. shows a map of where I've walked, my mph, time, and calories burned plus it will pause if I stop for a certain amount of time, so I can use it whilst shopping etc too! I might also get Accupedo just to compare…

Not a mum/ex-athlete or anything like that either! Been here for one week and lost 2lbs, always been a bit chubby and now it's gotten out of hand I'm doing something about it! On here everyday and always supporting my friends so feel free to add me!

I used to spend a lot of time on facebook, just checking what random people are up to that I don't even care about tbh! It's useful for keeping in touch with a few friends but since getting MFP I rarely go on it! Everyone's super friendly on here that I have added, and really supportive too! Plus weight loss and fitness…
