  • Have you tried swimming? I bet that would be an excellent exercise for you! :flowerforyou: As far as the calories go - if you are virtually inactive, and hitting closer to 1,000 than 800 calories per day, you're not far off the 1,200 mark that a lot of us are striving to hit. I end up somewhere between 100-300 calories…
  • Here are my favorites: 1. Peanut butter w/apple slices or lite whole wheat toast 2. Oatmeal 3. Whole wheat tortilla 4. Stir fry veggies with just a little rice 5. Egg white, canadian bacon, 2% cheese slice, lite whole wheat toast sandwich for breakfast - under 250 calories and very filling! :drinker: …
  • I cook all of my own food. I actually just came to the computer with the packages for butternut squash, black beans, whole wheat tortillas, salsa verde and jalapeno jack cheese and added each one to the list. It's a bit of a pain, but I figure at some point I'll have most of what I eat on the list.
  • Hawaii on March 7th with my whole family! It's right around the corner!!
  • I'm here! I went to my 60 minute spin class tonight. For those that do spin - today's class was loaded with jumps. It was a good one! I'm happy with how the week is going and hoping I don't "fall off the wagon" over the weekend again! :blushing: Congratulations to all of us!
  • I did that at the gym last week! Now I have a hide-a-key!
  • I'm not a doctor or expert so I don't have the authority to agree or disagree but I think that not eating right before bedtime may help in digestion, but not necessarily in burning calories. If you burn a certain number of calories over the course of the day I don't think it matters when during that day you eat - you've…
  • Wow! Talk about motivation! I would be walking on cloud 9! Keep up the great work!
  • Sorry about that. Did you try cutting and pasting into your browser? It takes a few seconds for the page to pop up. Hope you find it.
  • Hi All! Check out this link to a Real Simple Magazine article regarding 10 diet myths. It clarified some things for me. Let me know what you think. http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/gallery/0,21863,1700385-5,00.html You'll have to page back to the beginning of the article to get to the first item.
  • I've been eating lite whole wheat toast (2 slices/80 calories), scrambles egg whites, a slice of 2% american cheese and a slice of canadian bacon. The whole thing ends up being right around 250 calories. It's not an egg mcmuffin, but it's pretty darned good. It fills me up too! :drinker:

  • Try taking a hot bubble bath. Let the bubbles and hot water ease away your tension. I was "bad" this weekend and was afraid to get on the scale today. I didn't want to ruin my day before it had even started! Hang in there!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Hi All! I feel left out. What is this 7 day challenge?
  • And I just read your profile! You gave up smoking!! Congratulations!! That is a major accomplishment!! You should be very proud of yourself!!!
  • :noway: I am shocked and amazed that someone could be that mean. Don't give anyone the power to make you feel bad. I know it's easier said than done, but no one can "make" you feel bad. I always say "be a duck - let it rollllll off of you like water on a duck"! You rock!! You are beautiful and strong and no one making a…
  • I think you have to make sure you're eating your calories otherwise your body goes into starvation mode. The best thing you can do is eat your calories and break them up into 4-6 small meals during the day to keep your motor running! Drink lots of water too!
  • Starbuck's has their "skinny" lattes and a grande vanilla skinny latte is only 130 calories. A tall is only 90! Not bad. I normally don't drink mocha lattes, but now that they have one that's 130 calories, I've made that a snack a couple of times.
  • It all works out in the end. You'll be pitying me when it's 112 degrees this August and I can't go outside!
  • That is hilarious and practically unheard of for a lab!
  • I live in Arizona. It's sunny but chilly today - high in the low 50s. It's this time of year that I truly appreciate living in this state! Hang in there girls. It won't last too much longer. :flowerforyou:
  • woooohoooo! Talk about motivation! You're doing great!
  • They may not have them in Kansas. It's a chain of grocery stores that buy quality products in bulk and pass the savings on to the customer. They sell everything from flowers and wine to organic meats, gourmet cheeses, great frozen foods, even pet food. You can check out there website www.traderjoes.com :flowerforyou:
  • Hi Kim, I do pretty much all of my shopping at TJ's. I've been eating their instant oatmeal for breakfast - easy to bring to work. Their boxed soups are good too - the tomato/red bell pepper is yummy and only like 70 calories (if I remember right) per serving. They also sell cartoned egg whites so you can make a quick…
  • I love butternut squash. It's good just cubed up and tossed with a littel olive oil and roasted.
  • No - you're not an idiot!! Once it's cooked - it's hard to explain - but it comes apart and looks something like spaghetti.
  • I actually emailed Shmirnoff and asked about this. Here is the reply: January 11, 2008 Dear Consumer, Thank you for taking time to contact Smirnoff. We appreciate hearing from our consumers because your feedback is important. Unfortunately we have not made such a product, the closest thing that we have made to date is…
  • Oh! That is good news! I am meeting friends for happy hour tonight and have been stressing about what to drink and how it was going to wreck my day's calories. I hope they have it at the spot we're going to .... wish me luck! :drinker:
  • Just started on Monday. I'm down 2.
  • I just started a few days ago and I am sorry to see you go! You have such a great attitude! You'll be missed!
  • It's a big yellow squash. When it's cooked it scrapes out in spaghetti shaped shreds. If you're not a fan of squash it's not for you, but if you are it's great because you can eat a heaping bowl of it with no guilt. A little of the sauce goes a long way. You can also microwave the squash, but I prefer it baked.
