Makes me so sad…I was prescribed the beginner dose of Wegovy 7 weeks ago and still haven’t been able to get it 😥
-
Not 2 weeks waiting to get my initial prescription filled 😟

I met with my doctor yesterday and I am going to begin Wegovy. Unfortunately, Walgreens is out of stock so there is going to be a delay. I am hoping this will help me get past that initial craving hump that has ruined so many of my efforts before.

Once the logic of the number created includes the thought process of increasing the number of steps for the average person substantially, it ceases to be arbitrary. Since you are either too lazy, or too invested in your position to actually look it up, I am providing you the definition of the word "arbitrary". Definition…

Please enlighten us all...

Thank you. You're argument proved my point. A goal which represents a change in behavior and moves you in a positive direction by design, is, by definition, not arbitrary.
-
When it comes to goal setting. Arbitrary is bad. To think otherwise would indicate you do not know the definition of arbitrary.
-
Well, no. Maybe I'm trying to put too fine a point on it but for a goal to be arbitrary it would be random and without consideration. A goal can be wrong or worthless without being arbitrary.
-
I don't agree that 10,000 steps is an "arbitrary" number. For the vast majority of people, that goal represents a substantial increase in their normal level of activity while being reasonably easy to achieve with some dedication and effort. It's certainly not a magic formula, but it fails the definition of "arbitrary".

No doubt about it given you are healthy. I started running at 49 and 240 pounds back in November. Worked my way down to 195 and now up to 20 miles a week with my longest run being 8 miles. You will hear this over and over again because it's true: The key to successful running is taking it in small increments. C25K is a…

Please don't try again. There is a debate forum on this website. I would suggest that if you have strong feelings on this topic, that is where you should be.
-
So why post? For the OP: A belt pack would be simple and stable for you. Make sure you are carrying something as light as possible. The weight will bother you over time.
-
I did C25K in October and am now up to 10K+ distances and signed up for a half marathon in the fall. It really is, I believe, the best way for someone to start running who has little or no experience. Follow it. Take it easy. Take it slow and you will succeed!
-
That sounds about right to me. I get a little over 200 calories for the same number of steps, so the running looks to be added on top of, but separately from those for you.

In 1519, Captain Hernán Cortés landed in Veracruz. Upon arriving, he gave the order to his men to burn the ships. I have the same policy with clothes that are too big...only less dramatic :-)
-
I brought a ton of stuff to Goodwill. Somewhere near me is a guy the size I used to be with a whole new wardrobe :-)

You absolutely are a runner and the best kind of runner. One who enjoys it and sees the positive impact it has on your life. Never let speed be the deciding factor on how you think about yourself as a runner. There is ALWAYS someone faster...

It's true. The program should be called, "Couch to 30 minutes". I believe very few, if any people are doing a 30 minute 5K upon completion of the program. In fact, a 30 minute 5K is a pretty good speed that will take most people a while to achieve if that is your goal but it's a great way to open the door to a great…

Love doing both. I feel they are actually very complimentary.

Just ordered my second replacement wedding ring. First one fell off, then the second one did too...

You will resist buying clothes that are actually your correct size because when you read the label, you just don't believe it. A medium? Can't be...give me the large :-)
-
Thank you! I did buy the shirt. In fact I bought two :-) I mean...they were marked down so I kinda had to.....right?
-
Thank you! That was the Crystal Palace. Big Disney fan here :-)

My best running shoes will not likely be your best running shoes...
-
I feel the same. I run 3-4 times/week and tell my wife that the thing most on my mind while I am running is, "When do I get to stop running?" This is particularly problematic when running on the treadmill. My latest solution has been books on tape which I can download for free via my local library. This has really…

Nice job and congrats to you!

Ran 7 miles yesterday! My longest yet.

No one told me I would have to start wearing smaller underwear...the leg holes are now too big and too often...the train leaves the station without authorization...

All good advice here. I am a former obese runner. Now I am merely an overweight runner :-) I began with walking. Frequently and for a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. After about a month or so of that I began the C25K program via a free app. I went to the running store and paid a kidney for some good running shoes and got…

A medium???? Really? Me?
