Today I went to the dentist for the first time in a year and a half. They handed me a form to look over and confirm all my information was correct. The home phone they had for us has been disconnected, so I crossed that out. And the weight they had for me was 18 pounds heavier – – so I crossed that out and corrected it! That was a nice pick-me-up this morning!
I went to the dentist earlier this week and they asked if my medical records were up to date, and I replied that they were. It hadn't even occurred to me that they might have the wrong weight. I'll have to check things over next time.7 -
I randomly had my outfit complimented by several different guys today. I don't think that that was all they were complimenting. Lol! They were very polite at least, thankfully.23

today, instead of taking the underground to the bakery, I decided to run - first time in a long while! (and only 20min/ 2,2 km) I suffered a bit and was rather happy when I was back home but I still felt very proud as I had already put out my running clothes last night and had that planned in advance. looking forward to nice coffee now and fresh bread...23

Lots of NSVs...
This week at work, two women commented on my weight loss. One woman even said I was looking buff!!
The new woman at work is very active and fit AKA someone who would've intimidated me a year ago. But she is so chill and we've been talking all about hiking and running and eating small meals throughout the day... We realized we ran the same 5K on New Year's but didn't know each other then! Kind of nice finding new ways to connect to people I otherwise wouldn't have.
I bought a unisex shirt size MEDIUM!! I had been wearing XL unisex shirts and just dealing with the giant sleeves since they fit my belly. Now the sleeves fit my arms nicely AND it's not too tight on the belly. Craaaazyyy. Also I think I am officially a size 16 but it is very hard to tell since every store is different... Started at a 22.
I made one of those motivational chains with rings cut out of construction paper for my remaining 35 pounds. Somehow stuff like that still helps me even though I am no longer 10 years old and counting down to summer vacation Already got to rip one of the rings!
I have done 2 days of the 10K trainer app. It is my new weekend workout since it takes an hour as opposed to C25K's half hour. So far so good! On the weekdays I am trying to run 1 mile and see if I can increase my speed. I am currently at a 13 min/mile. Kinda nice because I only have to commit to 13 minutes of working out!! Haha. I have been doing that along with weight machines and LOVE that feeling when I can increase the weights. *insert arm flexing emoji here*
My husband's aunt (my aunt-in-law?) has horrible knees and found out she needed to lose 40 pounds to get knee surgery. She has lost 20 pounds so far and said she couldn't have done it without me showing her it was possible! Pretty cool seeing tangible health results from weight loss. I knowww my weight loss will be good for my health, but since I am young and was relatively healthy to start, it's a little harder to visualize. Stuff like this reminds me that it's all important.33 -

My NSV's:
I finished week 8 of C210K today (the equivalent of finishing C25K) and I am really excited to get on and tackle week 9.
Also...I have had to tighten up a notch on my FitBit Charge 2 as it was almost spinning right around my wrist...yay!13 -
I ran today. Not too much like 10-15 miles of it more like 4 minutes of running.
Why is it important or even an NSV?
Always thought I cannot run. Probably last time I ran was when I participated in a race in kindergarten.
For the first 30 seconds I was extremely conscious about how ridiculous it must be looking. Then I overcame it and pushed as much as I could.
I think I can count that as my NSV40 -

no, not at all. i'm heading in the other direction - gloating about how my collarbones are 'sinking' into the trap and pec muscle that's slowly burying them. plus, they've changed position and angle a lot since a few years ago.
different yardsticks, but i totally relate to the way that you monitor yours.

This was mine! Craziness. I really don't see it until I put old pictures next to new.

Awesome progress howkat and everyone.
I always read this thread, to get inspired for my journey.13 -
Today my uncle said he can tell I'm losing weight and to keep up the good work ! I've only lost 18 lbs and didn't think others could notice... it's good to know the results are visible.24

Today I was putting makeup on with my roommate. I said something "insightful" and she excitably tapped my waist with the back of her hand.
Then got distracted and started feeling my waist in appreciation for how much I lost off of it!
It was very gratifying!19 -
My wife laughed at me.
I decided to try on some of my dress shirts. She looked at me and could not stop laughing. Said I was wearing a tent.
At least a dozen shirts are going to charity. She laughed at about half of them.48 -
8 months sober today and lost another pants size this week. I was almost giddy when I found a pair of Michael Kors jeans at the thrift store and they fit me! Happy dance was when they were 3.9991

Just had to note that I gave away my bestest pair of jeans a while back that were too big. My much loved Michael Kors jeans. I'm going to pretend you (or someone like you) is now enjoying them as much as I did.

All my favorite workout pants keep sliding off my hips!21

1) Ran 3.74 miles yesterday, which I haven't done for a couple of years.
2) Discovered that I can no longer wear those particular shorts to run in because they're too loose and have no drawstring. Awkward.30 -
Down to a size 10 in pants. Started as a 18/20. I'm officially a size Medium but I was able to fit in a size S dress at American Eagle!41

Little but important: Made myself some more fruit/nut oatmeal cookies for a sweet treat
Used 2/3 the amount of sugar and cut the salt; will try 1/2 the amount of sugar next time. Licked only one beater, and did not "sample" three cookies' worth of dough while rolling the dough balls. Baked only 12 (some for me, some for the roomies), and froze the rest for later. Portion control FTW!
ETA: I'm slowly learning to adapt favorite foods so I can comfortably eat them long term. Tastes good. Feels good. I'm content today35 -
My latest NSV was finishing an indoor triathlon yesterday and hitting all of my goals!28
-
Ran 5k this morning after being sidelined for several months by a knee injury - so good to be back at it!20
-
I'm out of 40's! From size 46 to size 38!46
-
I no longer experience knee pain from working out. Also in yoga, I am able to transition from downward dog to chatarunga without dropping my knees. My planks are stronger as well.31
-
Today I was able to return to running after a 5 week hiatus due to injury...woohoo!33
-
Logging my food again and changing my settings to reflect current weight-it has been creeping up.25
-
Finally able to squat my own body weight - one of my workout bucket list!34
