Madwife2009 wrote: »I have had such a horrible day . . . was late getting up and going to (therefore late getting back from also) the gym - only got half my workout done as was on a tight schedule today. Don't you just hate it when your day starts off badly?
I then had to go to the next city to see my consultant. Who wasn't availalbe as he was covering someone else's clinic. That annoyed me as he's the only doctor I trust there. Had to see a registrar (who I've seen before and wasn't too impressed by) who promptly decided to double my meds as the dose I'm on isn't working too well (not what I wanted but little choice in the matter as no alternative apart from living in pain).
Then I was told by the physio team that they'd messed up a referral from three months ago and it's been rejected. I've now got to see my GP to get that sorted and I can't see her for over a week. More delay in getting something pretty urgent sorted out - they could have phoned me to tell me instead of waiting until I saw them today.
Then I missed the train back and had to hang around for ages for the next train But I took a book with me; I thought it was the next one in a series I'm reading but when I started to read it I found that there's a book at home between the one I've just finished and the one I took with me.
Got home and found that none of the housework had been done. In fact there was no evidence of anything having been done all day, which was a bit annoying as if I'd been at home whilst DH was at the hospital, I'd have done the cleaning etc.
Husband took the children swimming and drove off with the garage key. I couldn't get my bike out and it was a lovely afternoon for a cycle. He then came home in a really foul mood = major row . . .
Nothing for dinner so had to go to the supermarket (yawn). DH refused to eat his (I'm only bothered about the wasted food, he could have told me that he wasn't going to eat it then I wouldn't have cooked it).
Made some silly food choices as well, so I'm pretty angry with my lack of will-power.
Horrible, niggly, miserable day.
So there I was, 9pm at night, trying to find something good about today. I looked at my step count and it said 29,043. So, to make myself feel better about a disastrous day, I decided to make it hit 30,000. So I went for a short walk in the dark and cold . . . only to find that it was raining as well. It was NOT going to get the better of me so I got soaked as well
HOWEVER - take a look at this:
This is the first time my tracker has hit such a number! So I am going to bed on a positive note that will hopefully carry on tomorrow At least I'll get my bike ride . . .
@Madwife2009 - don't let it get you down!!! You go girl. Day by day.

60 front squats with a 75 pound barbell and 50 95 pound deadlifts in CrossFit. Been going for 1.5 months and that was my most challenging but exciting WOD yet17

yes W5D3 caught me completely by surprise, I honestly thought it was a bug in my app and had to look it up to see if it was a mistake. The thing is though the programme is so sneaky it's actually got you to the point where you can do a straight 20min without you even realising. Amazing really. C25K is actually amazing.16 -

@KareninLux - Thank you! I do take it day by day, it just that some days are harder than others and then I need to vent
Today's NSVs:
1) My "hollow back" is not as hollow as it used to be. Obviously because my formerly-huge rear end is no longer so huge. I used to be able to get my arm between my back and whatever I was sat against. No longer
2) My normal walking speed is much faster now than it used to be. It's at least three times the speed it was last year.
3) My legs don't hurt after kettlebell classes anymore. When I first started the classes on 5th January, my poor legs hurt for three or four days afterwards. Now, they ache (no, that's the wrong word - they BURN) during the class and that's it. No more aching for days after
4) I'm going to have to take in my trousers as I don't want to buy any more; the ones I've got now are too bug for me and I want to wear these out first.

My NSV is I've ran three days in a row! That's a record for me. Plus I'm doing a heart rate type workout to keep track of my heart rate and keep it in a certain zone so I'm super focused on that an not the fact that I'm up to 3 miles straight:) I usually do the Run 4 Walk 1 which is still my fav but I needed the confidence boost of being able to continually run. yay me!14

NSV - I just ordered a silicone wedding ring because I'm so scared mine is going to fall off.
I bought size 8 pants yesterday thinking I could wear them soon, but(!) they already fit great!
I did my best OrangeTheory workout today, heart rate was up where it's supposed to be finally.
Keep it up, everyone!14 -
I just put on a tee shirt that I haven't been able to wear in over a year and a half, and it is actually bigger on me now than the day I bought it!18

Joined a new leisure centre on 10th Feb, including my first real gym visit in about 10 years.
About to go there now for my 8th gym session in 11 days. Going ok...

Today I was feeling emotional and yucky, and I went to the gym and worked it out and I feel SO much better! Junk food never worked like exercise does!! Huge NSV for me to actually WANT to work out!26

Okay, I've finally been able to fit into a couple pairs of size 12 (US) pants. When I started this journey a year ago I was wearing an 18!
I've logged for 369 days straight!
I ran into a coworker in the elevator today because both of us were so burdened with bags for work that the stairs weren't an option. (She usually does stairs too.) Anyway, she took one look at me and asked "Is there less of you?" and made my day!27 -
Just bought some new jeans and for the first time I bought the ones that have your waist size on the tag in the back :-)27

An orderly at my school was going up several flight of stairs lugging what seemed like a really heavy bag of books. I came up beside her and offered to take them for her, preparing myself for a huge weight. Well, I almost flung the bag around because it was lighter to me than I expected! It had to be at least 10kg of books but seriously it didn't feel heavy at all. Those upper body workouts are really paying off :-)30

I was able to button my winter jacket this morning!!28
-
I ran for the entire first mile of my run. I usually have two hills that kick my *kitten*. Not today!!25
-
I've been feeling gross and fat and lazy lately. I decided to change up my workout because I was in a rut and went with Daily Burn. I've now exercised two days in a row (in most recent times I'd slack off and say "I'll just do it tomorrow") AND I'm starting to feel good about myself again because I'm starting to see definition in my abs again. It wasn't far away to begin with, but that was the part of me making me feel fat and gross.18

My size 14 jeans are fitting much better and today I easily tightened my belt another hole24

I finally got up to 3.5 mph on my treadmill (yay). Unfortunately, it overheated. I think it's not happy having to work after serving as a coat rack for the past 8 years39

Can totally relate...I can easily carry all my shopping bags in one trip without puffing either lol7 -

Yeah, mine randomly stops in the middle of a jog sometimes. I think I've beaten the crap out of the poor thing. Considering a new one, but this one has helped me lose so much weight.14 -
I did a full pull up on a rope yesterday at the gym! O.o
No idea I was capable of such a thing.32 -
I pushed my toddler daughter (who is very tall and heavy) in her buggy for five miles through 20mph+ winds (the edges of Storm Doris?) today. Most of that was into a headwind or through a crosswind.
Two months ago I couldn't push her anywhere, it was too much for me to cope with on a still day, never mind through 20mph+ winds.
I love strength training33 -
I have finally (the last few weeks) incorporated a CONSISTENT schedule of heavy weight lifting amongst my other fitness activities..running, kickboxing, etc...I am building on from the bodyweight/dumbbells that I have been using the last year. It hurts so GOOD!! :-)25

New deadlifting PR - 331.5 lbs!38

At my son's scout meeting last night, we all "circle up" at the end of the meeting. I was standing between two other moms...one who is quite larger than me and one who isn't super tiny but isn't super huge. Hubby commented that when he looked at me from across the room I was a "skinny minnie" standing between the two of them.
Me. A skinny minnie. WHAT?!
25 -
I didn't hit the vending machine or eat the granola bar I grabbed "just in case" yesterday. Trust me yesterday that was HUGE.
34 -
In a clothing store today. I'd picked out a skirt in two sizes: M and a L The Medium was too big.

I was also mad enough to hit the road for a cycle ride today, yep, in the storm.
Did 13 miles, buffeted by the wind the whole way.
It was a hard, hard ride and I really wanted to turn around and go home, especially when the rain started. But I persevered.
And knocked 18 minutes off my usual time to complete the run (18 minutes!)40 -
What a great day! 2nd time in the gym to lift weights (can only do upper body for now) -- so awesome to get back into it.
At my physical therapy appointment, we added 5 minutes of an elliptical to my bike and treadmill. I go so slow on those things, but am thrilled my leg is at least able to move in those ways now. I'm hurting and really hope I will be OK in a day or two so I can start using my legs like this again.
Lastly, I tried on a sweater I love that's been pretty snug, and it now fits and I'm wearing to work tomorrow!25
