My son was looking at the charts I have on the fridge and said, "You know, Mom, I'm really proud of you."

Tomorrow I'm taking my children to an indoor water park, where I will wear a bathing suit IN PUBLIC for the first time in my entire life. I'm nervous and when I look at myself I see all of my flaws, but I'm doing it anyway. I found the longest swim shorts I could find, which are still exceptionally short but way better than the alternative (bikini bottoms). The loose skin on my butt hangs out the back of the shorts . But, I've decided if people don't like it, they don't have to look. I'm 40 years old with 4 beautiful children, my body doesn't have to be perfect.
We're going to the water park because our ski trip was cancelled due to lack of snow (we're enjoying record-breaking warm weather here in Michigan). The ski trip was also supposed to be a first for my family. Now, it'll have to wait until next year.
The biggest NSV of my weight loss? Being willing to try activities that I would have never done in the past, even before I gained all the weight. I've learned to have faith in what my body can DO. Wow.49 -
I bypassed the Valentine's day candy, not ONE bite, and chocolate is my guilty little pleasure.19

I have been struggling for a few months, but this thread has kept my eye on the prize. It has also motivated me to push myself, so today my NSV is that I purchased a new pair of running shoes and I signed up for a 5K!26

Bought new shirts today all in size MEDIUM! I started at a XXL!39

I went to costco yesterday and was looking at some crop pants (I'm going to need lots new summer clothes). I didn't know what size to buy so I decided to get size 10 because the size 12 jeans I was wearing were loose. Well brought them home and tried them on and I could barely button them. The NSV is that I am strangely excited about this, they are super cute and this means I have some pants to work towards that won't be too loose in a month or two.27

I have been stuggling lately. Not sure why but keeping on track just seems rather difficult. My NSV...I'm still here!! I'm still logging (everyday except yesterday), still getting on the scale (not letting myself get way off track), and still reading these great posts for inspiration! Thank you to everyone for posting! And keep up the great work!27

Hitting the gym 5 times in one week, and not feeling burnt out. Historically I've had a bad habit of getting back on the wagon and then going to the gym and working out so hard I'm sore and grumpy for days, which kills my motivation to go back to the gym.19

I finished off C210K week 7 on Saturday.....well, actually I went a little crazy....I shall explain...
I was feeling pretty ok with week 7 (run 25mins) but was curious to see just how far I was going in those 25mins. So with MapMyFitness and C210K running at the same time, off I set. Well, at the end of 25mins I had not quite got to 4km....disappointing...so I kept running until MapMyFitness told me I had reached 5km. I was pleasantly surprised that it was only a smidge over 31mins.
For my first ever 5km run, outdoors & off road with a few inclunes and no walking, I was pretty pleased with myself.29 -
My NSV : achieved the 50 km run mileage which was my target for February and I can run 10 km in a stretch even though I am way too slow! I am happy and excited!!20

Mine is: I ran my first 5k this weekend that I've run in 2 years. I ran it FASTER than my last 5k (2014)!
Also, I'm wearing Silver Jeans that I haven't been able to wear AT ALL in 10 years....without any muffin top!27 -
Yes! I've started running, I've done 7 x 5Ks now, 3/week which includes Parkruns on Saturdays. I actually like running- immediately at the point when I stop running- the whole 'during' running thing I can take or leave but the feeling at the end is amazing.28

I have had an extremely stressful two weeks at work to the point I've been bordering on anxiety attacks and then to top off an already crummy couple of weeks my mom just told me and my brother she has cancer this weekend. My brother got stupid drunk (addictive tendencies run in my family) but I just cried it out. I'm proud I didn't do anything destructive like reach for cookies, alcohol or anything else that would just hurt me in the long run. I'm still sad but at least I'm handling my feelings in a non-destructive way. That is a BIG DEAL for me because I've battled issues with binge drinking and binge eating since I was a teenager.68

Deadlifted 135 today for 3 reps at the end of my session, just to see if I could do over my body weight--made it to 108%! I think I started with 30 lbs in April33

I had my family trained that whenever they borrowed my car they put the seat back for me afterward. It was easy to know the spot--all the way back. So I got into my car, and whoever borrowed it last had put the seat all the way back for me--and I couldn't reach the pedals! Now, I have to retrain them all.42

I had to take in all my jeans so they would stay up....I will soon be in the closet for the next size down20

I finally caved and bought new jeans yesterday. The size 13/14 ones were becoming ridiculously too big and even though I still have a bum, it isn't doing as well as a speed bump to keep my pants from their rapid downward slump to my ankles.
I figure at best I'd be around a size 10 but they were too big! I haven't worn a size 8 since the start of University 15 years ago. When holding them up, I honestly can't believe I can fit into anything that small. It's such a difference from the 22 size pants from this time last year.
It's given me a boost to work towards the final bit of weight loss and to continue to increase the toning/strength training I've been doing. While I still see myself as fat, the new pants have really shown me how far I've come.34
