What's Your Most Recent NSV

Finally got caught up on the last few pages, after being away from the forums for a few days... You guys are all doing fabulously!
I have a handful of small NSVs to share...
1. I went for an interview last week dressed to the nines in an outfit that I mostly got from the thrift store (in very good condition!), and I thought I looked great. I almost never think that about myself! I think feeling that way gave me a lot more confidence in the interview than I usually have. (Still waiting to see if I got the job.)
2. After feeling so fabulous, the next day I went out just to do some window shopping. Tried on a few things in styles I wouldn't normally wear, just to see what kind of size I might be now and how things looked on me - it was fun, and I don't often enjoy clothes shopping! (I've been used to years of just buying whatever fits and looks half-decent... now I'm starting to look forward to buying a proper new wardrobe when I get to goal.) Found a cute dress that fit perfectly but I have no reason to wear it right now, and it wouldn't fit for long anyway, so that went back on the rack. I also fell in love with a wonderful sweater that was a peachy-pink with white unicorns on it, a couple of which were covered in silver sequins, and I was SO tempted to buy it! I mean, sparkly unicorns? And so soft! Who could resist that?! But it was a medium/large, and it was actually loose on me. They didn't have it in a smaller size, and I wasn't going to pay that much for something I'd only wear a few times, so I had to leave sans unicorns. The Fates were telling me I need my money for more important things. Maybe next year...
3. I mentioned a few days ago that I'd purchased a bargain pair of new boots for my interview outfit (end of season sales are great!), and they're a much higher heel than I'm used to wearing. I managed just fine walking around in them, and decided to try out my other heels to see how they fit. I can walk in those too! Apparently it wasn't the heel height that made them so hard to wear - I just couldn't balance in them because I was so heavy. It's much easier now! I danced, and I even ran across the room in them, just to prove to myself that I could. I also have a pair of "party heels" (burgundy crushed velvet!) that I haven't been able to get my feet into for years because they felt far too narrow and constricting. I must have lost some weight on my feet now, because those fit too. There is no other word for what I was doing around the bedroom, in these various shoes and clothes I've been trying on lately, than "swaggering"...
4. I'm a little shy to admit this, but I dressed up for my hubby in nice lingerie, stockings and a pair of heels, and I felt sexy! Usually I look in the mirror and feel like it's pointless wearing such things because I feel so bad about the way I look, so I like the way my opinion about myself is changing. (Hubby was very appreciative of the effort, and kept telling me I looked sexy too!)62 -
Swagger on SueSue! Round here, we Strut!13

I was able to touch the floor when stretching in zumba cooldown today after 2 months of taking zumba.28

The weight on my driver's license is no longer a lie.

My work pants wouldnt stay up. Even with a belt (one i originally needed on the 1st hole and now is on the 4th hole) The weight of them hanging loose was to much for the tight belt to hold up properly even. Pants werent even that old They were never tight or anything but they fit nicely a few months ago.21

I had to move the seat forward to reach the pedals in my truck. I think this is my third posting of this same NSV. I also had to move the seat up to properly see over the steering wheel. I really hope it's from losing fat on the back of my thighs and I'm not getting even shorter!33

Another NSV, so soon. I just discovered I still have peppermint bark in the cupboard. The weird thing is I don't want to eat it because the candy bits were too crunchy. That's right, Christmas candy in my kitchen in February. Who am I and when did I get picky about chocolate?31

My doctor took me off blood pressure meds today!!!80

#1) I ran my first half marathon distance today. Granted, it was on the elliptical and split into two sections (stupid machine won't let you run more than 60 min at a time!!).... But it was 13.1 mi running with a 0.4 mi cool down.
#2) my new year's resolution was to run 2017 mi in 2017. (Set, and announced BEFORE I did the math *forehead slap*). As of today, I've hit my Jan and Feb goals. Everything for the next week is padding for future, harder, higher mileage months.28 -
I walk alot, usually on the high school track.or my treadmill. The track has a dirt hill that goes up behind the home team bleachers, goes along the top of the bleachers, and back down on the other side. About 2 weeks ago, I started running up the hill to get my heart rate going, loving the feel of my legs working hard.
Today I went to the track with the goal of hitting 5 miles. My shoe laces kept coming untied, I kept getting pebbles in my shoes and my right thigh tightened up on my 3rd lap up the hill.
I decided to try running up the bleacher steps, figuring it would be easier on my thigh and still get my HR up. I would then walk down the next flight, with 3 upstairs flights per lap and 40 steps to the top.
At 3 laps to a mile, it came to120 stairs per mile. I ended up doing 7 miles. Deducting the first mile that I tried to run the incline, that means I ran up 840 stairs, not bad for a 59 year old, formerly.morbidly obese woman.
So despite finicky shoelaces, pebbles in my shoes and a tricky thigh muscle, I still kicked *kitten*. There's no stopping me now!44 -
I feel more like myself these days. I had gotten so fat that I felt uncomfortable in my own skin like I was someone else.38

Hit the gym on Tuesday and might have overdone it a smidgen (I squats). Stairs were a torture yesterday evening and let's not even mention trying to sit on the toilet this morning. But... I still went for a 1 hour walk yesterday after work.26

I feel your pain . . . squats are killers, especially when you first start them! It will get better though I think that my legs hurt for a good 3-4 days after my first session of squats. Six weeks down the line and my legs hardly hurt at all after doing loads in one session.
Well done on going for a walk as well10 -

Hehe. I'm down to being in pain for 2 days instead of a week. But I'll gladly take those two days of pain for the added strength and confidence.7 -
I got this new fitness tracker and wore it for the first time yesterday; 11.500 steps and 11 floors on a perfectly normal day so it seems I move more than I thought I do.
And: I am actually looking forward to going to the gym tomorrow and doing some outdoorsy thing on the weekend just to be able to see the results on the Garmin - pathetic26 -

Really silly, but I can comfortably place my feet next to each other touching. My thighs were previously too large to do that.35

Pizza for dinner with the hubster. Two slices plus a side salad later, I could have fit a 1/2 slice more and still have been under calories for the day, but decided not to since I already felt full. Who am I and what have I done with my old self?
My husband confessed tonight that when I was at my heaviest and we would have sweets, he would eat more than he normally would have to try and "help" me. I didn't want to be helped then, I wasn't ready for it, but hearing this now made me think of what a supportive, sweet husband he's always been. He didn't lecture me about my weight or hide food from me, he tried to make it easier on me by helping it disappear quicker. And now, there's been a box of chocolates in the fridge for a month that I'm not even tempted by. Things have come a long way...61 -
My Granny's birthday was on Tuesday. We went out to dinner and I put half of my meal in a box to take home. Followed by her little party of cake and ice cream. Very thin slice of cake and a small bowl of ice cream. Felt good because I didn't deny myself of anything - but I showed more restraint than I ever had and didn't feel 'punished'.33

I have also noticed that I can wear heels more comfortably and they also really give me a sense of confidence and sassy-ness.
I also strut when I'm feeling myself particularly well. like yesterday and today. It feels good to be so confident doesn't it!

Energy. I actually have energy in the morning. Like, I didn't even know I didn't have any energy in the morning until I started having energy in the morning. The thing is, I was a chronic breakfast skipper. Recently, I've started eating breakfast and now I have actual energy in the morning!28

okay so a few things
1. I actually bought a bikini, actually I bought two of them
2. I tried them on and they fit pretty good and I didn't hate the way I looked
3. I SHOWED PEOPLE THE PICTURES I TOOK IN THEM! which is a big deal.
4. I was speaking with a friend of mine last night (we have dinner on Wednesday's) I was wearing leggings and a tank top and she said it was super noticeable how much smaller I looked and said I looked like I had lost another 20 lbs. Which I haven't in the time frame she was speaking about. She also told me I look like I weigh like 160, which I do not. I told her I weigh 193 and she told me to buy a new scale because there was literally no way that was true. AND she commented that she could really see the muscle definition in my legs!!!!! Which made me feel awesome! I've always had bigger legs because they're very strong but I have always felt a little self conscious of that because sometimes I feel like they just look chunky but she was very adamant that she could see muscle definition in them even when I was just standing there!!!! ALL OF THOSE SQUATS ARE PAYING OFF!!!! I mean so are the rest of the exercises but I do love those squats!36 -
I put on a pair of these little high waisted denim shorts that I bought in the fall during an after Summer sale and they fit! I bought them online and I was embarrassed because I had to swap them for a larger size in the store. Even the larger size felt kind of tight. Anyway yesterday they went on with a breeze and were so super comfortable. Not too snug and they covered everything. I am so happy!22

I recently had two pair of size 22 jeans mended that I'd busted the zipper on 2 years ago (both were brand new) because I was having to unbutton them to sit comfortably. When I had them mended (a month ago) one was perfect and the other a tiny bit too tight. Both pair are loose now, and one I have to keep hiking up to keep from showing my booty to strangers! (I LOATHE belts, but I am going to have to get one soon.)26
-
I bought my first pair of jeans that wasn't from the fat girl department last night. Granted, I think the Kohl's Sonoma stretch brand is quite forgiving, but I slid comfortably into a pair of size 14 jeans (I had to go down from the size 16 which was a hair large).
Size 14.
No "W." Just 14.44 -
Not sure this is a "victory", but it just happened: after losing almost 50lbs I was walking across the lobby of my employment all the while feeling my underwear sliding down! This may be a long day Guess I should go shopping37
-
I've been taking aerial classes.
Really been struggling with my inversions off of the floor, lost them for a couple weeks after being sick. Managed to do three long arm inversion in a row yesterday in class.18 -
After about 2 months of seasonal SADness, I was able to make myself exercise again. Destroying some HIIT workouts these past two weeks and using the elliptical to start building up endurance for outdoor running season26
