The same shorts from last summer look so so so much better now and I don't have an awful muffin top and belly spilling over them anymore!

Ran three miles for a slow, easy run...while carrying on a full conversation...something I never would have been able to do a year ago!31

After many years of being up and down in weight I have accumulated quite the collection of different sizes of clothes - I counted 6 (!) different sizes! Anyway, since I have a smallish closet, this meant I always had to store off-season clothes away in the basement. This is always a pain in the fall and spring when we can get quite the variety in weather.
As I have been losing this time around, as I have grown out of sizes I have been immediately putting them in garbage bags to donate. This weekend I donated 6 large garbage bags of clothes and no longer have any clothes in storage - everything I own fits into one closet!
Also, made it to 10 miles on my Fitbit on Saturday!40 -
@leaninsc , isn't that an awesome feeling? I never knew there was anything between walking and gasping for breath like a fish out of water...which is why I never liked to run with people. Why bother if I could only grunt? Now i can actually do easy long runs with a friend and not shut up for an hour of running! And wow, long runs are so much more fun with a friend19

Sort of health-related, but in a different way...
I started a "bullet journal". I've been curious and finally spent some time looking into it and developing one for me. It's super basic and simple (as that I'm not overly creative), but it helped me refocus on my goals and ambitions for life. I made a section for Fitness Goals for 2017, and in it is:
PR a 5K
Run a half marathon
Get to 20% body fat
I made a step-by-step plan for each goal, complete with mini-goals and rewards. It's so nice to have these goals written down in glittery gel pen...it seems more real! I am worth the time investment of making goals with plans!
And this '90s girl loves her glittery gel pens!!24 -
W1D1 of C25K and the 200 Squat Challenge. Kept seeing C25K throughout this thread and running is something I've always wanted to do. Thanks for the inspiration MFPals23

Holy Moly! I just got home from my physical therapy appointment where I did an hour's worth of stuff in front of a wall of mirrors. First of all, I could look at myself without feeling embarrassed, ashamed, etc. In fact, I kept looking because I could barely believe what I was seeing. Absolute shocker: I am really pretty thin! Like, everywhere. ME?!

I made it through C25K week 5 day 3 (20 mins straight running)!32

In high school I was a 3 sport athlete, but one time my boyfriend at the time took me to the weight room, and I couldn't even bench press the empty bar.
Today... After being out of shape every single day since high school, I can bench the bar plus (a tiny bit of) weight on it! And should be able to do more next week!29 -
Madwife2009 wrote: »I have had such a horrible day . . . was late getting up and going to (therefore late getting back from also) the gym - only got half my workout done as was on a tight schedule today. Don't you just hate it when your day starts off badly?
I then had to go to the next city to see my consultant. Who wasn't availalbe as he was covering someone else's clinic. That annoyed me as he's the only doctor I trust there. Had to see a registrar (who I've seen before and wasn't too impressed by) who promptly decided to double my meds as the dose I'm on isn't working too well (not what I wanted but little choice in the matter as no alternative apart from living in pain).
Then I was told by the physio team that they'd messed up a referral from three months ago and it's been rejected. I've now got to see my GP to get that sorted and I can't see her for over a week. More delay in getting something pretty urgent sorted out - they could have phoned me to tell me instead of waiting until I saw them today.
Then I missed the train back and had to hang around for ages for the next train But I took a book with me; I thought it was the next one in a series I'm reading but when I started to read it I found that there's a book at home between the one I've just finished and the one I took with me.
Got home and found that none of the housework had been done. In fact there was no evidence of anything having been done all day, which was a bit annoying as if I'd been at home whilst DH was at the hospital, I'd have done the cleaning etc.
Husband took the children swimming and drove off with the garage key. I couldn't get my bike out and it was a lovely afternoon for a cycle. He then came home in a really foul mood = major row . . .
Nothing for dinner so had to go to the supermarket (yawn). DH refused to eat his (I'm only bothered about the wasted food, he could have told me that he wasn't going to eat it then I wouldn't have cooked it).
Made some silly food choices as well, so I'm pretty angry with my lack of will-power.
Horrible, niggly, miserable day.
So there I was, 9pm at night, trying to find something good about today. I looked at my step count and it said 29,043. So, to make myself feel better about a disastrous day, I decided to make it hit 30,000. So I went for a short walk in the dark and cold . . . only to find that it was raining as well. It was NOT going to get the better of me so I got soaked as well
HOWEVER - take a look at this:
This is the first time my tracker has hit such a number! So I am going to bed on a positive note that will hopefully carry on tomorrow At least I'll get my bike ride . . .
@Madwife2009 - don't let it get you down!!! You go girl. Day by day.

60 front squats with a 75 pound barbell and 50 95 pound deadlifts in CrossFit. Been going for 1.5 months and that was my most challenging but exciting WOD yet17

yes W5D3 caught me completely by surprise, I honestly thought it was a bug in my app and had to look it up to see if it was a mistake. The thing is though the programme is so sneaky it's actually got you to the point where you can do a straight 20min without you even realising. Amazing really. C25K is actually amazing.16 -

@KareninLux - Thank you! I do take it day by day, it just that some days are harder than others and then I need to vent
Today's NSVs:
1) My "hollow back" is not as hollow as it used to be. Obviously because my formerly-huge rear end is no longer so huge. I used to be able to get my arm between my back and whatever I was sat against. No longer
2) My normal walking speed is much faster now than it used to be. It's at least three times the speed it was last year.
3) My legs don't hurt after kettlebell classes anymore. When I first started the classes on 5th January, my poor legs hurt for three or four days afterwards. Now, they ache (no, that's the wrong word - they BURN) during the class and that's it. No more aching for days after
4) I'm going to have to take in my trousers as I don't want to buy any more; the ones I've got now are too bug for me and I want to wear these out first.

My NSV is I've ran three days in a row! That's a record for me. Plus I'm doing a heart rate type workout to keep track of my heart rate and keep it in a certain zone so I'm super focused on that an not the fact that I'm up to 3 miles straight:) I usually do the Run 4 Walk 1 which is still my fav but I needed the confidence boost of being able to continually run. yay me!14

NSV - I just ordered a silicone wedding ring because I'm so scared mine is going to fall off.
I bought size 8 pants yesterday thinking I could wear them soon, but(!) they already fit great!
I did my best OrangeTheory workout today, heart rate was up where it's supposed to be finally.
Keep it up, everyone!14 -
I just put on a tee shirt that I haven't been able to wear in over a year and a half, and it is actually bigger on me now than the day I bought it!18

Joined a new leisure centre on 10th Feb, including my first real gym visit in about 10 years.
About to go there now for my 8th gym session in 11 days. Going ok...

Today I was feeling emotional and yucky, and I went to the gym and worked it out and I feel SO much better! Junk food never worked like exercise does!! Huge NSV for me to actually WANT to work out!26
