  • Good for you! :flowerforyou: My friend uses the Gillian McKeith books and meal plans. She's so healthy! What I like about her info, is that you can tell what kind of vitamin deficiencies etc you have by your physical appearance. ie fingernails, hair, etc. Also, if you have specfic health problems like pms, lack of energy,…
  • I'm only 4' 9" and 120 - 126 is my goal as well! I'm really not sure how much I've lost so far, but people are starting to notice and my clothes are starting to get loose on me. I think i might start keeping track of my percentage of weight loss since 5 lbs looks way different on me than my taller pals. It's one of…
  • My husband has a draw on his commission for expenses, that sort of thing. He has a base salary that is separate.. which is the way we like it. A draw on commission is not a good way to get paid. You are guaranteed $700 a week but you essentially have to pay it back with your commission. ie: If you draw $700 for pay but…
  • "When I went on a shopping trip to Buffalo last week I noticed that a few of the Lean's had different calories from the States to Canada as well, so Canadian's watch when you are adding food to your journal. Are they American or canadian calories? " I think it's the portion sizes that may be different. I used to live…
  • Congrats! That's awesome!:flowerforyou:
  • Myth: You have to buy special foods to lose weight. Busted: I am cutting calories using everything I've always used! I just need to measure and portion correctly.
  • That is soooo familiar to me! I always weighed in on my Mom's scale since I don't own one, and found it fluctauated quite a bit, so I lived in blissful ignorance, until I went to visit a friend. After a trip to the little girls room, I noticed a lovely digital scale, so I got on. I was horrified. I was a good 6 lbs heavier…
  • Awersome! Keep up the great work!:flowerforyou:
  • Well done! :flowerforyou:
  • I started with AM/PM yoga with Suzanne Deason. It is two half hour sessions that get you started without becoming too overwhelmed. I got mine from Wal-Mart ages ago. When you've built up some stregnth and flexibility you can move on to harder workouts. :flowerforyou:
  • When I look in the mirror, I like my shape. It's an hourglass no matter how much I gain.
  • I swore I wouldn't get on the scale for at least one month but last night the temptation was too great! I went to a friend's house after tae kwon do class. It just so happens it's where I weigh in since she has an accurate and available scale. I didn't even think about it, I just...got on. Well, I lost two pounds! I've…
  • Good for you that you did your second work out! Be proud of yourself!!:flowerforyou:
  • lol, Thanks. Cool! haha BTW, I love your glasses, my daughter has a pair just like that all picked out for when she gets her next 'script.
  • Do you thaw them before you eat them?
  • Nice hot cup of tea with milk works for me. I get Red Rose decaff, so I'm not up half the night. It's not as good as the reg, but, you know, any port in a storm!
  • Shovelling doesn't count the way I do it. I wait for it to melt or my husband to do it.
  • I am definitely an emotional eater too! I schedule snacks and meals approx 2 hrs apart depending on the day. If I start to feel hungry, right after I eat, or in between, I try to find something to do. Housework is a big one, I'll pick up a book, scrapbook, go for a walk, call a friend...just to kill time until that next…
  • I had a couple of bad days this week. Tonight was hard, my family was eating grilled cheese and I had my soup and salad. Mmmmmm. I just started taking tae kwon do which burns a lot of calories so I'm looking forward to that tommorrow night!
  • Oh Ainslie, for heaven's sake! LOL You're Veronica's freind aren't you!!I just noticed your picture!
  • Wow, 11lbs in 22 days! That's amazing, keep up the great work!
  • Thank you for this! I was thinking this afternoon about the BMR.. Mine's probably pretty sluggish now but I'm becoming more active every day. I guess it takes some success and maintenance before you can change your activity level in the BMR..
  • Thanks for the sparkpeople site. I was doing it by hand, this will save me a LOT of time.
  • Good for you! I hope I have that same determination and committment when I'm tempted!
  • Not a cottage cheese fan! My mom used to eat it all the time when I was a kid and she never lost a pound. Just find a good for you alternative that you DO like. Fat free/sugar free yoghurt maybe? Forcing yourself to eat something you don't like is not going to work. :flowerforyou:
  • Don't give up!!!! It's a slow process, and sometimes those 'off the scale' victories are more important than a number. Try to be positive about the changes you've made and how you feel! If you're not feeling positive, maybe set a small attainable goal for yourself!
  • Congrats to you!! That's great news and an inspiration for us all!!!:flowerforyou:
  • I'm a veggie sneaker! My kids have a few that they like, but if I they feel they're not getting enough, I'll grate them into meat or sauce or whatever I'm cooking. When it's on their plate, the only rule is that they need to try it. A proper bite that is! MY daughter wouldn't eat any when she was around 4 or five. Now she…
  • I use the raw measurements when I'm calculating a recipe. I made meatballs the other night and used the raw measurement before cooking. When making another recipe that that used 1/2 cup cooked beef. I used the cooked measure. At least, that's what I thought it meant...now I'm really curious.
  • I struggle with comfort foods too. I saw on a documentary years ago, a gentleman who lost an incredible amount of weight. I wish I could remember his name. Anyway, was a food addict (I don't think I'm there, but who knows) and one thing he said really caught my attention. He had gained the weight back and then some and was…
