  • Thug kitchen blog, if you don't mind swearing. Great recipes!
  • Is anyone else thinking of the classic line from Office Space? "Tell you what I'd do man..." I'd pay off my debt, my parents debt, buy us both houses, set up charities and never....ever....ever...EVER see this office again. Like, ever.
  • Quote from OP "My profile picture is me climbing Mt. Fugi in Japan. I was in the best shape of my life. My question is, What if I don't want to get back there? I want to lose weight and be healthier, but I don't need or want to be in the shape I was when I was in the military". She clearly has no problem with muscle or…
  • Agree...and just wanted to add, If you hate the gym, don't let that stop you. Get some weights for home and a good solid plan.
  • Hi there. Congrats on your weight loss so far! Well, the thing that jumped out at me is "I stopped logging". You really need to know how much you're eating! Log for a week or two at your current diet and see what your calories look like. Now, I also wanted to add that when I first started lifting I had a small gain. I've…
  • OP, I am one of the ones who actually read your post, and I understand what you are saying. You are doing this primarily for your health. My goals are somewhere in the middle right now. I will not have the body I had at 26 because I really don't want to put as much time and effort into it as I did then. I am trying to…
  • "Creating a second account for the purposes of deceiving other members or to work around a Forum suspension"- That was NOT the purpose of this second account. It does not violate the rules. Don't be that person. OP, I am not educated on ED's but I do feel for you. Thank you for being so honest. I hope you get the help you…
  • Frozen light whipped topping spread on a graham cracker fixes me.
  • I have a recurring dream (just last night, again) that I have the ability to fly. All through the dream I'm flying around like no biggie, but I just keep going higher and higher...then suddenly I panic. "WTH am I doing?", then I start to fall.
  • Yep, I'm another one! And even when at my leanest, I still have a bit of a belly.
  • Sounds reasonable. Thanks.
  • Yes, that was DashDev. They are not all that easy for me yet. I assume they will be at some point, and hopefully I have some heavier weights by then. I have been doing body-weight back work given to me by my doctor for an old injury, but quite honestly I probably need to learn more about weighted back exercises. I do…
  • Lots of great ideas here. I'm dealing with a broken foot at the moment, but once I'm free and clear to do more I'll incorporate more plank moves. I will also look up iron crosses. And now, I have "Baby Got Back" stuck in the brainpod.
  • Haha, I did catch myself doing this twice now, just not thinking to put the other weight down. But yes, I do know better.
  • Good point, thanks!
  • Great! Thanks for the responses everyone! I will continue to work on them.
  • Yes, I gained weight from eating what I normally ate, exercising only as I normally did (not much) and drinking wine. I love red wine too much to give it up. I lost weight by eating differently than I normally did (healthier), exercising differently than I normally did (often) and still drinking wine. I did cut down…
  • Good luck on it! I hope it does. I'm sure you will work off that cupcake moving into your new home.
  • When I was on Effexor, I was constantly starving. My Dr told me it affects some people that way. On Effexor, people tend to lose weight....except for that small percentage that gain weight.
  • I friggin LOVE Jason's Deli, and there are some in Denver. Check out their menu online, I think you'll like it. It is quick (they usually have a drive through) but such good food. Lots of healthy options for all types of diets. A little on the pricier side for "quick" food.
  • Good post! I get obsessed with a new hobby when my life is falling apart. Recently Krav Maga, before that writing, painting, running... it goes on and on. It's my way of hiding until everything works itself out.
  • I only recently discovered chocolate peanut butter flavored "sweet and salty" bugles.I have no tips for anyone on how to avoid them.
  • Once I have maintained my goal weight for a while, I will probably only log when I need to get back in line or just check in to make sure I am still on track. I don't want to think about calories every day for the rest of my life.
  • ((Slowly removes straw from bottle of parkay butter spray))) .......craaaaaaaaaap.
  • When I belonged to a gym, I would walk at an incline 4mph or lower for about half an hour before weights. If I didn't have a magazine to look at, I'd be watching the clock the whole time. I would have trouble really reading an article if going faster, but even looking at the pics gives me something to focus on. And if it's…
  • It is nice to see so many responses from parents with balance. I don't have children, but i am thankful for my parents * introducing me to healthy food while young. There are many people my age who ate next to no vegetables growing up, and now think of a vegetable side as mac and cheese. I am glad that I actually like…
  • It wouldn't be the same now, but "Freaks and Geeks" died way too young.
  • For what it's worth, it made me laugh. Also, you have a sweet figure, so you're doing it right.
  • Sigh. I agree with the point the OP was making. This is a public forum, however, and nothing is going to change. People, man. I lurk the forums when I'm bored. You have some people that really are giving very poor advice and I do see a need to correct them, in a tactful way. But if you took the advice of every "expert" on…
  • Yep, I have a fat cat. I learned a hard lesson about "dry food". My previous cat, who lived to be 18 years, would only nibble her dry food when she was hungry. I kept it filled up, no problems. The cat I have now does not have that self control. Before I really had much more than noticed he was overweight, he had diabetes.…
