  • Me too--second time a charm? I am so disappointed that I regained half of what I lost last year. I can feel the difference---dramatically in how I feel and my clothes. Fighting the urge to buy a couple pair of larger size but I dumped my larger sizes for a reason...because I'm not going back I'm moving forward.
  • Tic-a-lock and let someone else tell them. Don't go there. If your spouse is fat believe me they ALREADY KNOW.
  • With a massage and a facial.
  • I too am definitely paralyzed by my emotions at times. It is difficult to justify-even to myself. I do try to "positive self-talk" my way through it but some days I just can't. My trade off is to try to be extra calorie conscious on those days to help me feel better about missing my workout. Good luck :)
  • I am "there" too. Some medical issues interfered with my exercise, then my diet began to fall like dominoes. I am an emotional eater, always have been. Thought I had finally overcome that when depression and holiday foods combined for a catastrophic storm. Regained 30 of 71, digusted with myself and regrouping for a…
  • I had a terrible time with this after I dropped the first 50 pounds. Truthfully I was worried I might need surgery. But as the weeks passed I noticed a definite improvement and my skin seems to be responding. Not as quickly as I would like--immediately-LOL but it has steadily gotten better. No longer considering going…
  • Been there. Enlist the help of someone you trust to tell Grandma she is hurting you by the constant offer of food. She may not even realize that she's doing it. It may just be her way, old habits are difficult to break, we know that, right? Reinterate your position as often as you need to make her comply with your wishes.…
  • Grilled chicken sandwich-hold the mayo and a side salad with lowfat dressing. Unsweetened Ice Tea always.
  • Go for a physical exam with your doctor that includes blood work. See a nutritionist if you need help. You can eat healthy and feel healthy without being hungry or rundown. Maybe something is off kilter in your body (ie, periods)or maybe you are not eating enough or the right things to nourish your body. You should feel…
  • Not happening-I am a morning person but workouts are for after work for me. :)
  • Allow yourself some adjustment time and be totally honest on your diary--for yourself. No one has to see it but you. If you use a tsp of oil to cook something, write it down. Add and adjust where you need to and in a few weeks you will be shedding the pounds. This works.....do not under eat either that's not healthy and…
  • Yes have a snack to keep your energy up and hold you until you can eat a sensible meal.
  • I agree-and it IS or can be such a long process to overcome. I am in the struggle frequently though not DAILY now and I have been working on it for almost two years. I believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me but I have not lost my compassion for people that struggle with this too. There is a great benefit…
  • The possibilities are endless depending upon what you are craving.....Sweet-fat free pudding, Edy's fruit bar. Salty/crunchy-hummus and pita chips or veggies. Special K or Fiber One bars. True hunger snack-lean turkey or ham and lowfat string cheese or laughing cow/baby bel cheese. 100 calorie english muffin with…
  • Bump-wonderful words of wisdom. :)
  • Alot of people do not get that strong connection to their pets that seems to be automatic in some people. I love my dog as a member of my family and in many ways he is like my child. That being said I would "always" weigh the benefit to the pet vs any needs that I have myself to "keep them alive no matter what". Losing a…
  • Anything that helps you is great. My experience has been that anyone can quit if they really want to.....anyone. Yes there are rough moments but once you make that decision honestly it will be doable. Eliminate the things that you KNOW are your triggers even if its certain people for awhile until you are through the…
  • I don't believe in all this toxins mumbo jumbo BUT I do feel better after a one or two day "cleanse" --for me thats clear liquids nothing solid for two days and plenty of water. No special products that cost a bundle and I find it easy to do and not harsh on my system.

  • We all fall into that trap. People even ask which leads us to believe they are interested in what we are doing and how we are accomplishing our goals. In alot of cases they ask just so they can "punch holes" in our program. I find it much easier to not even discuss it ever because of all the negative nellie's out there. If…
  • I don't eat out ALOT but I do have certain things I order at the large chains which are figure friendly. BWW has wonderful "grilled tenders" I get mine dry rubbed and skip the dipping sauce. Popeye's naked tenders are oh so yummy I don't even miss the fried, breaded version. Popeyes BBQ sauce is only 35 calories! Bonus.…
  • Apparently a little too much. I am a high risk food addict and have been know to reoffend. Keeping on track after an infraction is difficult but I AM working through it, my future health depends on the good changes I have made and in sticking to my program. When I am losing I am totally commited and on board. When I hit…
  • Mushrooms Peppers (all colors) eggs
  • The only smart thing to do with Tilapia is throw it out.....I have tried many times at home and in restaurants. Always reminds me of mildew...I just can't make myself like it. I have tried Swai and that seems to be another low cost fish option I can actually tolerate. I buy salmon, haddock, cod, and shrimp mostly but I do…
  • Pretty sure it has nothing to do specifically with Oreos and EVERYTHING to do with SUGAR......
  • We are here (the 50+) but just hovering. My thought is that it "seems harder" to lose as we age BUT we have also had many more years to screw up our metabolism on fad diets and starvation tactics. This is the first plan I have followed religiously mainly because it is SENSIBLE and therefore easy to maintain as a Life…
  • Vegetarian is not low calorie. It "can be" but you have to read labels. Since you have been doing that I assume you are aware. Vegetarian or non-vegetarian it still boils down to calories in, calories out. It will take awhile for you to get into your groove so I hightly recommend measuring "everything" intially so you can…
  • I add a packet of stevia or a spoon of honey- if I want it sweetened and add fresh berries. Otherwise I substitute it for sour cream in everything else. I LOVE the stuff.
  • Think---drawstrings--when you are in transition. It gives you a little adjustment time before you have to buy smaller stuff.
  • They do sell "burpless" fish oil.
