  • I havent worked out in a couple of months, so I am getting back into the grind. I am going to shoot for 30 miles this month.
  • I am in the same boat. I have a Masters in Criminal Justice and 4-5 years of clerical and administratice experience and I cannot get an entry level court or police admin job. Jobs are few and far between right now. I understand where some people are coming from with a little more education, but with our economy, that…
  • I snack all day long, feel free to add me
  • Communication is key. Maybe you need to be straight up with him about how you are feeling and see if he makes any attempts to change. If not, then just tell him its not going anywhere and leave it at that. Some guys just don't know what to do when dating someone and sometimes we just need to be straight up front with them.
  • My best friend has a degenerating disk in her back and has been seeing a chiropractor to help her. She was unable to run and now she is back to being able to do some running. She has been advised never to run marathons, but other than that she is good to go. She still sees the chiro for maintanence, but it really seemed to…
  • If you read the bios about the 3 kids that are going to be on the show, they are already experiencing a high level of ridicule in school. These kids want to do something to change that. The other thing that I dont think a lot of people know is that these kids arent really "kids". They are teenagers. 2 of them are 13 and 1…
  • Thought everyone should have the correct information about how they will be doing this before people slam the show. I think it is a great idea and will be highly motivating for the younger generation. "With the childhood obesity epidemic at an alarming, all-time high, jeopardizing the health of kids and future generations,…
  • If I were you, I would check out the road map 2 in the forums. It will show you how to calculate your TDEE and everything else, so that you can eat the proper amount of calories to meet your bodies needs and lose weight. For a lot of people, 1200 calories is not enough food and your body is probably trying to tell you…
  • I have undiagnosed chronic pain that has been going on for over a year and a half. We believe it is endometriosis but cannto diagnosis as I currently have no insurance. I have been on a rollercoaster with diet and excersize, but I ahve really been trying to push through and work out. Feel free to add me
  • I am looking at the Estes Park full in June (Colorado). There also the Rock and Roll Marathons all over the US every year and I know a lot of people that have really enjoyed them.
  • 47 g a day of protein is pretty low. I would not worry about that at all. Right now my protein goal each day is 210g.
  • I listened to an ultrarunner talk about training for a marathon and he said the same thing as everyone above. He said it is more important to do longer times than distance to increase your aerobic fitness level. He suggested the walk run intervals and suggested to continue to increase your time spent doing these. He said…
  • Some gyms have a circuit area. This would be a good place to start. Otherwise, I agree get the free training session and they will show you how to use machines. There are great workout videos out there that will show you different excersizes you can do at the gym etc.
  • If you are going to go I would plan ahead. Get the ads and know what you are looking for. Some places are a mad house and you will be thankful you did.
  • Favorites: 12 Days of Christmas- Straight No Chaser version The First Noel- Josh Groban Pretty much anything done by SNC, Josh Groban, or Michael Buble. All I Want For Christmas Is You- From Love Actually Don't know if I have a least favorite, but some of them are repeated so much that I get annoyed and stop listening to…
  • 30 day shred is on youtube so you might want to check it out on there first before you buy it
  • Training to finish my first full in June and several more 14ers in the spring
  • Cowboys all the way!!! I also support my home team the Broncos, but the Cowboys will always have my heart. How about the win over Philly this weekend??
  • Maybe you start with a focus on something other than food. Set a goal of working out so many days or for so many minutes. Hit that goal and then set another mini goal. Food wise, start small. Focus on making better choices at a certain meal. After you have done this successfully for a week or two, go on to conquer a second…
  • I voted for Barack because although I do not like all the tenants of his health care plan, it has helped me in so many ways and the health care things that Mitt wanted to get rid of, would have effected my health in a very bad way. That in turn would probably have led me to lose my job etc. because I would not have been…
  • Im a Texas girl at heart. I was living in Denton last year, but had to move back to Colorado. My heart will always belong to Texas and my Cowboys. Ill be back in Dallas in a few weeks for Sunday Night Football against the Eagles. Feel free to add me
  • I did slim genics and did ok for a while, then plateued for several months and nothing worked. I honestly thought it was a waste of my money. It is way to strict and you have to buy their snacks. You are better off just following a healthy eating plan.
  • Just keep increasing the time you spend running. You want to make sure you are training most of the time a comfortable pace, not full speed. Even if you end up doing walk/run intervals to spend more time working out that will benefit you more than a shorter amount of time at a faster speed. Talk to some ultrarunners. I got…
  • You will probably lose inches, but it will be from where ever your body wants to lose it. You cant spot reduce. If you want to lose inches I would watch your carb intake and make sure it is not too high and do strength training.
  • All these things do is push out some water weight and the next day you will be right back to where you started.
  • There is no such thing as it being too soon to hit a plateua. Weight loss is different for everyone. If you have ever watched the show biggest loser, most of them hit a plateua in the second week. I have been stuck within the same few lbs for over 2 months. I have tried everything under the sun, but that is only weight…
  • I have a low body temp, but also notice that 98.6-99.6 is actually warm for me. So even though the doctors will tell me my temp is normal, if it falls in this range I usually dont feel great.
  • We just had a lunch presentation at work about marathon training from an ultra runner. One of the biggest things he talked about was building up your aerobic endurance. He said when you are training, it should always been at a comfortable pace, where you could carry on a conversation. Even if that means walk/run intervals.…
