I wish I checked out running at the new stadium this year... It's on my list fur next year!

Thank you! The brushing teeth analogy fits perfectly. Maintenance is not difficult but I do wish out was now fun. I definitely do have other hobbies! There are several suggestions above that I like. Thanks everyone!

Twin Cities. I like to run marathons and eat pizza.

@MNLittleFinnMNLittleFinn TC Marathon was my first and a good choice. Trail running is fun but much more difficult. I recommend you wait and do a trail marathon as your 2nd or 3rd instead of your 1st. If you want an alternative in May or June, consider Grandma's instead. edit: based on the comments of @7lenny7 above it…

I prefer running outside in all whether conditions, but treadmills are good for some things like watching television or recording videos https://youtu.be/YLtM3lo5Ea0

Thinking about attempting another ice cream PR soon: https://youtu.be/vGKP37kz0SM Even large quantities of ice cream can fit within your calorie and macro goals. If you consume too much one day, adjust your targets on other days that week to compensate.

I completely agree. Many endurance athletes track sodium to ensure they are getting enough of it rather than too much. Yes some people consume to much sodium. Becoming more physically active (lick your skin after sweating for proof) can help alleviate excess consumption.

I run trails with very little traffic at certain hours. If you can find a situation like that you could try to run off leash. Just make sure your dog is well trained and will come immediately to attach to your leash (keep in pocket) if any humans (or deer, etc) appear.

I did not read all the responses but am positive that 99% of all experienced runners said taper. 22 miles was longer than what my training plan suggested prior to my first marathon. Pushing yourself to run further this close to your marathon is a really bad idea

I run 7 days a week but rarely do two a days. I used to sometimes lift in the morning and run at night (or vise versa). Now I generally do both exercises together (on lift days). Just accept suboptimal results from your second form of exercise if done back to back. If you can spare the time of an extra shower and trip to…

Eggs taste good. I say eat them

Congratulations!

Do a group search for intermittent fasting. Many MFP members are active there and have experience with all different eating intervals

IIFYM of course!

I have some friends on here who want to lose weight and some who want to gain weight. However I would say the majority already have a healthy BMI and are primarily focused on improving and properly fueling their fitness programs. Over time the issue you describe self corrects because those who constantly…

Looking good and being healthy are not the same thing. Of course there are some people with overweight BMIs that are healthier than many people with a BMI in the ideal range. However the risk factor for many diseases (diabetes, heart disease, etc) is much higher for those who are significantly overweight.

If daily fluctuations bother you then weigh daily but track your running average weight over a 7 or 14 day period. As long as you are averaging a deficit progress will come. Weekly average weight will also even out weekday vs weekend deficit/surplus differences if applicable

How many calories does setting off the planet fitness lunk alarm burn?

I have many pairs of shoes but running with barefeet is also a great (free) option. One day intend to run a marathon barefoot
-
6pm.com is a good site for great prices on last year's models. If you find a shoe you love, buy many pairs of it if you see it on clearance (assuming your feet are done growing). I have at least 6 pairs of identical Vibram Bikila's (in a few changes colors) for that reason.

Beer miles and Krispy Kreme challenge, tough mudder, etc are all fun

I usually wash my hair at least twice a day because my schedule demands it. Maybe if you choose to exercise only once a day in the morning (before a shower) then one post exercise wash would be enough.
-
@chrisdavey I have not checked this group in a very long time. Congratulations on being the first to ever finish the 24" pizza challenge! That was a huge pizza.

I mostly watch internet "fitness personalities" for entertainment not for educational reasons. I like watching the fruitarian types like durianrider and freelee but also like watching the extreme paleo types who only eat what they can hunt and gather like Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass in the Revenant…

Very motivational story. Video includes before and after pics. Diet and exercise works!

If you are underweight and having a hard time finding foods you like to help you reach a calorie surplus, lots of bananas are fine (assuming your macros are fine overall). If you are already at a healthy weight and are not a picky eater I see no reason to consume such a large percentage of your daily intake from one food…

Why do you want to gain so quickly? Assuming your goal is to gain primarily muscle your pace should be much slower. Even on a strenuous lifting plan gaining 26 pounds of muscle (or even half of that) is impossible in 2 months. If you successfully reach your goal the great majority of the gain will be from fat. Unless…

Your goal (caloric deficit or surplus) should depend on whether you are trying to lose our gain weight. The amount of that deficit or surplus depends on how much you want to lose our gain and your timetable. Most days my (seven day average) TDEE is my target because I am usually very close to my desired weight.

Sorry if I seemed sarcastic. I do prefer running ouside so I admit my bias but I also like to watch ESPN on occasion (on a treadmill). On a more serious note, I know some fancy treadmills have a decline option. My gym only has treadmills that offer inclines. I learned the lesson of why training with declines (only…

I am not a fan of zombie apps but if anyone wants to have a zombie costume running party in real life sign me up!
