Thank you goalweight135, i tried that and now it is letting me enter non-integer numbers. I hope it doesn't mess itself up again

Interesting -- thank you for the reply. I forgot to mention that I'm accessing MFP via my desktop browser, not using the phone app. This is what it shows for me after entering 176.6 and pressing enter. It only changed to this yesterday for me.

When you start bulking, you might tend to gain 5-10 pounds very quickly. This isn't fat, and it isn't muscle. It's water. It used to intimidate me. But after the first two weeks, the weight gain petered out to the rate I was expecting. Don't let the water weight scare you out of it. After you've bulked for a few weeks, it…

I don't think you need to worry so much about fat and carb calories. Just make sure you're eating plenty and getting enough protein.

I was born in Johannesburg, but I moved to America when I was 5. Now I live in Texas!

He approached me with some keys he'd found on the ground and asked if I knew whose they were. I didn't. He used it as a segue to introduce himself. Later, we left the gym together by chance. He asked me if I wanted to get coffee some time. I said yes. This was less than a week ago, and I already have a huge crush on him…

Me! I'm a guy despite my icon. BTW, I'm really happy this week, because I've started dating a guy at my gym. He's awesome

Yes. I actually had mine tested just this morning at University of Texas. What a coincidence! I had the opposite experience. They told me not to eat for 12 hours before the test, but I actually fasted for nearly 24 hours. I also didn't exercise at all for those 24 hours. Eating or exercising will skew your results. My RMR…

My results look more like this: http://www.edb.utexas.edu/education/assets/files/KHE/FIT/DXA%20Sample%20Results%20form.pdf But I arranged the interesting bits and blanked out the irrelevant parts in Photoshop so that it isn't as overwhelming. I don't expect people to pore over my charts just to find the interesting bits!…

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "pressing out against abs" I'm not sure if this answers your question, but when you use your ab muscles, it does tend to cause your stomach to bulge out a bit.

BMI works well as a warning for most people. The people it's not suited for are the people who already know it's not right for them. I agree that it's only really a problem if an organization uses it to provide or reject benefits without further consideration. Based on those pics I think you are slightly fatter than the…

Until this week, I only weighed myself every month or two. But I just bought a scale, so now I do it every day. I will average every week's weight measurements and use that as a more stable ruler of progress.

It's a combination of things. 1. People are intimidated by your success in the face of their failure. Some of the time they might actually WANT you to mess up, to maintain their ego. 2. Some people tell themselves that they are naturally fat, to shirk their responsibility for it. When you show that you can lose the weight…

Personally, I hate doing cheat days because they just break streaks and make me want to keep cheating. They're okay if you are able to recover from them easily, but if you don't need them I suggest not bothering with them.

Kashi fiber twigs cereal is my favorite go-to for this, or sometimes Greek yogurt (but you don't have a fridge). Otherwise, some fruit or a protein bar are great suggestions.

I passed by some Ben and Jerry's cinnamon bun ice cream--soooo delicious! But I was busy shopping for vegetabes, beef, and chicken. so I opted not to get any.

I considered this, but thought it wouldn't work since I didn't think we could move food between meals. I'll use this from now on!

Because feeling lithe, strong, and nimble is so much better than feeling slow and bloated.

During lunch a while ago, my coworker made fun of me for counting calories and said I'm getting too skinny and it's starting to look ugly. So when she got up to go to the bathroom, I ate from her bag of chocolate pretzels and left before she got back. They were extra delicious and I fit them into my food budget for that…

Wow, thanks for the link! I can't wait to try some of those recipes!! I just cooked a recipe my mom gave me for pot roast, so once I'm done eating that (over the next week) I'll get right on the chicken curry recipe in that list
