MFP stopped allowing weight recordings that aren't whole numbers??? WHAT? WHY
Starting yesterday, MFP does not allow me to enter weight recordings that aren't integers So if my scale says I weigh 175.4 pounds, MFP won't let me enter it because it has a .4 at the end. It would say "Please select a valid value. the nearest valid values are 175 and 176." WHY That's dumb Is this just their new dumb…

Feature request: planned food that you can check off when you've eaten it
I often pre-add food that I know I'm going to eat later. And lots of people like to add whole days of meals, to plan their days. We should be able to mark this food as "planned," and then once we've eaten it, we should be able to return to our diaries to mark it as "eaten." That way, we can add the food and see our whole…

Got a body fat test (DEXA scan), here are the results + underwear pictures for comparison
So I got a DEXA scan the day before yesterday, which is a test for your bone density and body fat percentage. I thought people here might be interested in this test since it's meant to be the most accurate way of measuring BF%. I was expecting a BF% between 14 and 19%, so I was surprised by the results it gave me. I'm…

Getting a DEXA scan today!
I can't wait; it'll tell me my body fat percentage and bone density! And it's at one of the best facilities in America. Here is a sample test of what I'm getting: http://www.edb.utexas.edu/education/assets/files/KHE/FIT/DXA Sample Results form.pdf I'm guessing my body fat is at about 15%, but I'll find out for sure later…

Anybody else in the CCCC? (casual calorie counters club)
Was going to call it the Casual Counters Clan but realized that it sounded too much like the KKK, lol I used to log everything meticulously, but now that I've been using MFP for about a collective year, I just use it to help me get a general idea of what I've had in a day. Some days I don't use it at all, or I might use it…

It's fun seeing how much weight I can gain in 24 hours
One time I put on more than 10 pounds in a single day, just to play around and see how much variation is possible in body weight in a short time period. I started out that morning pretty light, having used the bathroom and not eaten much the day before. I ate a normal amount of calories, going to about 2,500 which was my…

I feel so stupid
I let myself get badly sunburned last Friday while playing volleyball on a company holiday at a water park. I put sunscreen on my head, neck, and arms, which are all fine, but my shoulders and chest got second-degree burns that are still extremely painful. My back is also somewhat burned. Some skin peeled off last night,…

Ripped my underwear at the bottom of a squat >_>
This week, the first time I took a friend with me to exercise EVER, I ripped my *kitten* straight through my underwear. My friend was standing behind me, and freaked out at first because he thought the sound meant my body had broken in some way. It feels kind of good in a way because hopefully it means I'm building muscle?…

Well, I was wrong about eating more
I thought people who claimed that eating more was too difficult were just being silly or trying to show how self-controlled they normally are. Now I'm trying to eat between 2800 and 3000 calories per day, and I feel pretty bloated a lot of the time. It's only day two, though. I'm not even eating low-calorie foods. I'm…

Runtastic Pro is free, today only. Connects with MFP.
I've never used it before. I just found out about it and thought you all might also want to try it out. Runtastic Pro usually costs $5, I think, but today only it's free. It's an app that tracks your path and speed as you run, so that you can see exactly where you went as well as how many calories you burned. You can also…

I'm falling out of cardio by the week
I used to be all about cardio. I've been doing cross country from middle through high school, and now in college I started weight training. But over the past few months I've had less energy to do cardio because I've been cutting while weight training. Nowadays I find running really boring if it's on a treadmill (I used to…

Confusion with logging. What confuses you?
I log a tablespoon of olive oil when I pour that much into a pan to cook some chicken. But I don't know how much is actually consumed--I know some is absorbed by the chicken, some evaporates, and some gets left in the pan altogether! When I eat a grapefruit, I never know whether I ought to weigh it with or without its…

I don't see why some people find holidays so difficult.
People hype up holidays like they are the apocalypse for diets. Why not just...make sure you don't binge eat on a holiday. It's not like you have to. It's not that complicated. I think even if you go to somebody's house and they serve you a three-course meal, it's not hard to not binge. And if you do feel obligated to eat…

I just feel really awful and need to say so
First of all I'm sorry but this isn't about my diet/exercise. I don't mind if nobody replies, I just feel better articulating my thoughts somewhere. I just found out that for my next and final semester of college, I won't be able to take ANY of the courses I wanted to take due to a scheduling mistake. I have to drop out of…

Anybody else not care about weight?
I used to care about how much I weighed--it was my measure of success. Then I lost like 20 pounds in summer of 2012 and didn't really look much slimmer. I had lost muscle more than fat. Now, when I'm on a diet, I'm measuring body fat rather than weight. My weight goals are totally out of date and I haven't updated my…

This is going to sound like a stupid question
But our abs are on the outside of our rib cage, right? When I puff my chest out and feel my the edge of my lowest rib, it doesn't feel like my abs are there. But when I'm relaxed, it looks like my abs cover my ribs. I used to think the topmost one WAS a rib. Here are some pictures of sexy men:…

Self Discipline and motivation are not the same.
I saw somebody post this on reddit's fitness community when asked what to do when you lose motivation: "Don't use motivation. It's useless and it comes and goes. Self discipline and responsibility keep you going when you don't want to." I think it's really important to separate motivation and self discipline. It's one…

What keeps your diet in check? Your exercise routine?
What is the thing that keeps you going steady? For me, my diet keeps my exercise routine in check, and vice-versa. If I am not exercising, then I will probably let my diet go to hell. If I am not eating properly, I will figure "well exercising on this diet wouldn't work well." So I basically find it difficult to do one but…

What to do if you don't hunger all day, but don't eat?
I feel like my brain/stomach aren't working properly as of a few months ago. I rarely get hungry even if I don't eat food. I still enjoy food, but because of flavor rather than nourishment. My stomach rarely ever grumbles for food, and I've found some people who say I should only eat when hungry. But it's past 7 PM where I…

Staying healthy in Beijing this year? Help?
I'm going to Beijing this summer to do some figure drawing and improve my Chinese, and I'm worried that I'll have trouble eating healthily. Does anybody have any tips for eating healthily in China/Beijing? I've allocated $15 a day for food. Thanks!!

When should you start seeing results?
Earlier this year I lost thirteen pounds, from 157 to 144 and didn't look any different. I felt a little leaner. I guess I was losing muscle mass more than fat. When should I expect to see results?

Is it possible to crave something, but not be hungry?
I feel like I don't get hungry much, but I do crave certain foods. Usually based on taste ("I want something salty and light"). Is this hunger, or is it just a desire to taste something? I don't feel hungry in the sense that my stomach is empty. Sometimes I can be full but still crave something.

What part of your body would you like to thin out most?
Spot reduction doesn't work, so this topic is mostly pointless. But if you could get rid of some fat from one area of your body, which would it be? For me, it'd be my hips. I think that'd make a huge difference for me.
