  • I'm 5'7 and i started at 330 2 years ago. Lost 60 but have been inactive on mfp for a year and gained 34 lbs back. I'm at 304 now but working to get back to where i was. Preparing for a mud run and a 5k i have coming up. Jogging ain't easy when you're 300 lbs so this weight has to go!
  • My hubby and i just finished the last session of c25k, a very nice milestone to hit on my birthday of all days! However we are slow because, face it, jogging ain't easy when you're 300 lbs. We typically jog a mile in 13-14 mins. We're getting faster but that's not what i worry about. Increasing in distance and stamina is…

  • About 30 lbs for me. The hard truths for me were that i wore a lot of stretchy clothing at my biggest and even my jeans had some give to them. So it didn't affect my sizing as quickly. And 5-10 lbs on a skinny girl is noticeable but in my frame not at all. I lousy 60 lbs 2 years ago and it was halfway thru that i noticed…
  • I agree with previous posters. Today is a new day. You've come a long way in your thinking and your relationship with food but its still an ongoing learning process. Knowing your binge triggers help. As does remembering afterward that food guilt is just another way of letting food control you so let it go. You're doing…
  • Yay for starting again MamaGab92! Good luck. I'm sure you'll be ready for running the whole thing by October. The first time i did c25k i had never been a runner and began in mid Aug and ran my first 5k Dec 1st and that included a lot of weeks i repeated before graduating to the next level. My 2.5 mile mud run is still 6…

  • Hi everyone, my name is Laura and I'm new to this group. I did c25k a couple years ago and loved it. I processed to the point i could run 6-7 miles or so without stopping (at least 10k) within 6 months time. Then I got lazy and gained some weight bank and went back to my sedentary lifestyle. This spring I wanted to make…

  • I think you'll be totally ready. I'm doing a similar run in August and that's about 4 and 1/2 months from when i started jogging again. I think we will both be ready.
  • My fat used to be firmer but now that i've lost 60 lbs it's softer as the fat cells have shrunk. Kinda like deflating a balloon. When it's full of air it's firm, when it's not as full it is softer and squishier.
  • Better have someone push you, otherwise you are only resting your lower half. You would over-work your arms. The next day would need to be spent in a straitjacket to rest them. Then you might over-compensate by using your mouth and feet instead of your hands. It's a vicious cycle. Best to just stay in bed. Alone!…
  • Walking a mile a day will not hurt you unless you are disabled/injured. If it takes you a long time to walk a mile or it feels easy, walk faster till you are sweating and your heart rate is up. Depending on factors like your weight and exertion, you may be surprised how small a calorie burn that is. So if you are really…
  • If you paid for all the fat and all the calories then you definitely got ripped off! Just trouble shooting, if you have some double-stuff Oreos, add some to the icecream. The double stuff should make up for what the icecream is lacking. I think u learned your lesson, buyer beware.
  • Wait, U are baddest apple
  • My sister is 6'2" & her husband is 5'6" and they have a toddler who just turned 3. He thinks mommy is grown up but he always talks about when he gets big or when daddy gets big. Because dad is short he doesnt think dad is a grown up.
  • Stank breath is bad but it's just as bad when people have bad body odor. I used to work with a girl that smelled like sweat and onions. And my sister and her husband smoke outside in the rain and they reek all the time. Especially their coats which never get washed apparently. The smoke smell is bad enough but their…
  • Monk Oops I was too slow. NCIS
  • I'm not picky about veggies. I like most of them except sauerkraut and beets. Not wild about turnips, parsnips, or brussel sprouts but I'll eat them. Meats I am very picky about. Only boneless and extra lean cuts for me. Zero seafood. I'm picky about weird sauces and condiments though. I'm lucky because I'm not picky…
  • I agree you have to do it for yourself but I also understand wanting his support. Because it's taken you a while to get to this point he may not realize how far you've actually come. Forget the stumbles along the way our that he thinks thou should be done by now, and you would be if you'd succeeded the first time you…
  • I think we are all selfish sometimes to a certain degree. I think that has nothing to do with being narcissistic. Although I think it's an overly used description, there are people who are narcissists. They are so self absorbed they can't feel empathy for others and actually share several tendencies with psychopaths. I…
  • I wanna have one of those sexy hard bodies! Lifting is the only way to get it!
  • any book by Phillip Roth. especially Every Man, American Pastoral, and Sabbath's Theater. The Grapes of Wrath Don Quixote Anna Karenina
  • Exactly. It's frustrating that every time I see a peanut butter recipe they are always off on the calculations. I have to give credit to the OP this time, this one is closer in accuracy than the others I've seen to be a treat instead of a protein snack.
  • I like black olives fine but not green or weird ones. Ok I admit I haven't tried the weird ones. I like black ones but I dont love them. They almost have a metallic taste to me. But I can tolerate them, I won't pick them out of something. I find more people like black olives than mushrooms. I luv mushrooms but I know a lot…
  • I love my lane bryant sports bra. They go by top size. But boy, do they hold the girls in! It's high impact, great for running. Even doing jumping jacks there is NO bounce. Lane bryant often runs bra sales buy 2 get 2 free. Thats what I did, they are $38 each. If I had known how great it was I wouldn't have split an order…
  • An older guy at the Y was doing the stair treadmill in tiny little gym shorts. They were high cut on the sides basically right up to the waist band. So as he climbed, the shorts flapped open and he wasn't wearing undies. The stair treadmill is tall and my crosstrainer was right next to it and I was afraid to look up…
  • I agree with everyone that said you dont find time, you MAKE the time. I also understand it's hard because we all have our own set of obstacles that make this lifestyle difficult. Wouldn't it be easy if we all had unlimited time, unlimited funds, and unwavering support? Sure. But lets not sit around waiting for perfection.…
  • Tricked again. I have to stop falling for these misleading titles.
  • Usually unders, undies, or underpants. (Occasionally knickers or sometimes I refer to them as britches even though that could mean outer wear as well.)
  • could you demonstrate please? you know the rule...pics or it didnt happen
  • Thats how I started 6 months ago. I was over 300 lbs then. Now I'm training for a 12k on June 8th. When I started I didnt think I'd be running 10k within 6 mos. Keep it up, you can do it.
  • BEST RESPONSE EVER. That's just too damn funny!
