I suggest finding a program at Bodybuilding.com (try Jamie Eason's as someone suggested) if you don't mind lifting weights. Yeah don't worry about it. If you went over your cals then just work a little extra or eat a little less the next day. Sometimes I use the guilt as motivation to do cardio too.

I guess it depends on the protein bars you eat. Most I heard contain lots of sugar. I buy a lot of Quest Bars when it goes on sale. It's got good amount of carbs/fat/protein and high fiber.

I believe this is how it works: Eat at a deficit + weight lifting = lose weight/fat and tone up Eat at surplus + weight lifting = gain muscle Eat at a maintenance + weight lifting = body recomp Spot toning does not work. Your body chooses on its own which fat it wants gone first.

My vote goes to Quest Bars as well. I love the banana nut muffin, and even the cinnamon one...and I hate cinnamon. I didn't like the brownie as much until someone mentioned using a microwave, now I love it!

Think about what you're doing and why. My main reason is because I want to do it for myself, and no one else. And do the exercise that you love.

I'm no expert, but I'd recommend lifting some weights. I started out November 2012, and have seen great results. I don't belong to a gym either, but I invested in a barbell and dumbbell to use at home.

You look awesome! After trying weight lifting in January I dumped doing cardio only. I'm getting better results with lifting weights and sometimes hitting a heavy punching bag for a little cardio.

I have problems not meeting my protein goal. I have mine currently set to 45/20/35 (carb/fat/protein). Is this okay? I'm trying to lower my fat, so far I've been losing a little bit of weight. Should I change it to 40/30/30 instead?

Yeah, my main concern is mostly if it's safe to put your body through that, but it's definitely great to see that people here actually do a lot of exercise. I always wondered when I'm working out for so long if it's bad for my muscles because I might be over doing it.

I ate about 1300 cals today. I was going to eat more, but my dinner kinda made my stomach upset. I will try again tomorrow, but thanks for your input guys. This place is a great place to get help.

OMG! You must really have strong will power. My diet problem is I'll be good, and then I'll be bad for like a month. I have a Winco nearby as well. I'm able to say NO to brownies, but cotton candy? OMG! I just cannot say no to. If ever I see one on sale which is usually in the theater I MUST and I REPEAT I MUST have 1 PRONTO!

Thank you for your support guys. I was lost for a little, and avoided MFP all together. I didn't log my food entry journal, but 2 weeks ago I started motivating myself to get back on track. Now, I've managed to loose the 5 lbs, and also loose a few more. Thank you for all your wonderful kind and supportive words.

Yeah I was wondering if maybe I'm gaining muscle because I look at myself at the mirror and I look skinnier, but when I weigh myself I barely lost some lbs.

Wow, I've never had to deal with that. I actually order kids burger at Fuddruckers before too because it's the same size as an adult and fills me up real fast. I do feel guilty everytime I ask for a kids size, so I try to order it only when I'm with my family. I think it's stupid the way they treated you. What do they care…

I haven't touched lasagna since last year! Last night I was so tempted to eat one. It's called eggplant lasagna, but I controlled myself and just got a tea latte which I regretted because it tasted like soap...the one they made anyway.
