You can add me as well. I'm a 36 year old fellow PCOS sufferer with 40 lbs to lose.

How about packets of honey? I love Larabars on long bike rides, but they would be hard to carry while running.

Hi Jen- I also have PCOS and a few weeks ago I cut out gluten and (most) dairy. I'm toying with the paleo/primal stuff. I lost quite a bit of weight last year just calorie counting, but can't get rid of this last 25 lbs. I'm hoping that making the switch and being more deliberate with nutrition will help me finish this…

I don't have the force, but I use the flex and love it. I have it synched with MFP. I still log all my food in MFP, but my exercise is pulled directly from the flex. They seem to work fine together.

My running probably doesn't qualify as "endurance" but my cycling would. I log the most miles on the bike during the summer months. There are less colds/flus going around that time of year... maybe that's why I haven't seen any immune issues. My running, which I do during the winter, would be considered moderate. I guess…

Handyrunner- I don't know why I didn't think of this before... Larabars! They are great. Quick source of carbs, and they are made of dates and nuts, nothing more. They will be what I carry on the bike from now on (when it's warm enough to start riding). My husband and I love them- I don't know why I didn't think of using…

I don't do that much true distance running (long enough that I would have to eat), but sometimes ride up to 50 miles at a time- a few hours. When I do that, I have to carry something on the bike because I take blood sugar medication. I like the Shot bloks better than the gel stuff. I hadn't considered that aspect... Can't…

I'm interested to see what information you get... I'm a runner too, and distance cyclist. I'm just starting this plan as well to help combat some medical issues that I've been having. What I will be doing is similar to paleo, though my doctor didn't call it that. I don't plan on giving up my two favorite forms exercise. My…

Ha! Wonder how many people will get it without viewing the clip :)

I will be running week 4/day 3 tonight... In 9 hours and counting.... On Monday when I ran I got a horrible side stitch... Usually they go away after a few minutes, but it stayed the whole time!!! I think it's because I ran after dinner on a full stomach. Tonight, I will get my run in before I eat- that's for sure!
-
I almost done with week 4- Feel free to add me as a buddy. I was never a runner either... I did C25K last year and loved it. I finished it and ran a few 5ks. Then I took up cycling and rode my bike all summer. I injured a nerve in my arm, so riding is out for me right now. I started running again last week and picked up in…

Count me in too- I've joined other PCOS groups, but there's not much activity in them. I've lost 40 lbs, 20 left to go. I really want to focus on my body fat percentage at this point. I have two girls (11 and 7) thanks to a wonderful fertility doc! Weight is a constant battle with this condition! I feel like if I quit…

Lately I have been able to get raw local honey from a man who lives near me... I LOVE it. I've been using it in baking, etc. I have insulin related health issues, and sugar is sugar- whether it comes from honey, agave, or the plain old white stuff. However, I do feel like at least with the honey I'm adding some nutrients…

I too have PCOS. I take Metformin and Spironolactone. I've lost 40 lbs simply counting calories and trying to eat the "good" carbs (whole grains, fruits/veggies, dairy). I have about 25 lbs to go, and have come to a screeching halt. I'm going to try Paleo for a while, just to see what happens. Some people with PCOS swear…

Go get fitted... The extra money is worth it to avoid the pain of things like runners knee, shin splints, etc. If you're not comfortable, you won't stick with it. I overpronate, so I have to have stability shoes. I envy those of you who can wear the lightweight shoes! My current shoes are Mizuno Waves, but my husband loves…

Thanks! I think I just need a solid kick in the pants!!

I have lost a small bale of hay... Can't wait to get to elephant's penis!!

PVC's not PVAs... Can't keep myself straight!

Well... My thyroid is enlarged. So enlarged that they are surprised I'm not having trouble swallowing. Dr. is fairly certain that my sudden blood pressure and fluid issues are related to an undiagnosed thyroid problem. They drew several tubes of blood. Prescribed some lasix to get rid of the fluid and hopefully get the…

Hello. I too have PCOS. I did a very low carb diet when I was first diagnosed (20-30 grams). I was trying to get pregnant at the time. It worked, twice :) Currrently I am still on Met, and my endo recommends that I stay on that for the rest of my life. I also take Aldactone, which helps to block testosterone. I have been…

I lost 50 lbs last year thanks to my bike :) My hubby is into mountain biking. Road only for me... That mountain biking stuff is scary! Feel free to add me... I'm hoping to increase my mileage this year, and decrease my weight a little more!

Wendy's- Potato and a small chili. Put the chili on the potato. Yum.

I am biting the bullet and doing it for 30 days straight. I did take one day a few days into it. I got very SORE on days 2/3, so I took that fourth day off. But, I'm an all or nothing type of personality. For me, a few days off will turn into five, or six, or...

I am 5'4, and have gone from 210 to 160. Lost two band sizes, but have stayed a DD the entire time. I was kind of surprised by that. I've come to the conclusion that they just aren't going anywhere....
-
I'm 5'4 and right now weigh 160. I am comfortable in a size 10. I kind of feel the same way you do... I'd like to get to 150, hopefully down to 145. I think I'd look too skinny if I was any smaller than that. I am bigger up top though (DD), rather than in the hips. DD and a too skinny everywhere else looks kind of funny. I…

I ride a road bike and I've got the big calves too... It stinks because boots are too little!

Those small window alarms aren't very loud... Might be worth a shot. Maybe they would wake you if you were close to them, but not wake up your kids. We have them on our basement windows.

My 7 year old sleepwalks. She has done it since we moved her to a toddler bed. We have an alarm system on our house, which works great! She has tried to go outside a few times, the alarm goes off, and it wakes the whole house up. Funny story- We were watching tv one night and she came wandering up to the living room, sound…

Thanks for all the input... I do have a low grade fever, so I'm thinking I'll strike a happy medium and do a light workout tonight. Maybe some yoga on the wii or a walk. I'm sure Jillian will miss me!

Ugh, I know what you're talking about with that horrible bleeding. I will go months with nothing, then suddenly very heavy and blood clots. I had that happen at Disney World!! I'm on Spironolactone- which blocks testosterone. It has helped quite a bit with the hair issues. I've noticed a difference in how much I have to…
